The most upscale Petco in the universe. Wasn't sure from the outside if it was a Petco or some sort of private salon that just provided grooming. Figured let's see what's inside. Totally cool and well stocked. Had trouble finding a specific Purina cat food at other pet stores (went to 5 different pet stores) and Googled this one. Glad I did. Not only did they have the cat food I was looking for, but they had tons of other stuff that was the proverbial cat's pajamas. Like no other pet store I've ever gone to. Definitely check it out if you are nearby. Staff is super nice as well.

This place is horrible I had a grooming appointment with Fernanda me and my wife took our dog for services and she was very very nasty had an attitude from the moment we got there she said she wasn’t gonna groom my dog I lost a day of work because of her I asked for a manager he didn’t want to listen to me and sided with her instead of educating her on customer service expectations I really don’t recommend anyone to go to that store until there is change she doesn’t deserve to work for Petco due to her attitude we went to another groomer and Petco lost money due to her she needs to be addressed immediately me and my wife do not feel comfortable going there anymore. One more thing she was trying to tell me different prices like I didn’t know what I was doing in the app like I was not knowledgeable here is picture of my dog.

They left my dogs chest hair long when I asked for it to be shortened. I asked for the puppy cut did not get it got lopsided hair cut on ears and dace on top of it the groomer had an attitude the cashier had an attitude horrible customer service what the hell if could give zero stars would minus the stars they do not even answer the phone at this store I’ve had a horrible experience never again why the attitude is it due to being in a pricey area ? For the price I paid I should’ve got what I asked for. Damn you have to do better petco!!!

Location is nice but it almost never has certain products I need for my reptiles. I usually have to go to another location, even when placing the order online ahead of time. They just don't have the itemsI've noticed though Petco has been having that issue with many locations, not stocking up enough.

A large selection of cat and dog food as well as snacks for every need and every breed!! 🐈🐕 You can also find fish, reptiles and hamsters as well there is a little of everything for everyone as well as petwear love the experience everytime I come here!!

I will shop at 86th street and Lexington branch of Petco because of the excellent care they try to give their live critters. Their fish and small animals are kept in clean habitats. I had the pleasure of speaking to the young man who was working the aquatic area and found him to be pleasant and knowledgeable about the fish I was interested in. Very nice and professional young man.

I cannot give more praise to Crystal. She is a dog whisperer! Pickles (our dog) loves her and gets excited to see her each week. We are going to miss her. She is VERY present with the adults and the doggies. She also differentiates her approach based off the dogs' needs.

Jessica is an amazing groomer! Our dog smelled soooooo good. I think the best he has ever smelled after getting him groomed. She also did fabulous job on trimming his paw pads and nails. 10/10 recommend!! Will definitely be booking with her again.

Grooming - this is definitely not the go-to for grooming especially if you have a long-haired dog. Upon making an appointment, they don’t specify the expert level of the employees, you’re essentially just signing up for anyone who is available within that time slot but you clearly indicate what sort of dog breed you have. Due to this, you’d assume that whoever is assigned to your appointment, will be able to cut your dogs hair. That wasn’t my case. Not only did my groomer show up 10 minutes late to the appointment but when I showed her inspo pics, she looked like a deer in headlights, despite it being a very generic haircut. She expressed clear uncertainty, then took almost 6 hours to finish his haircut because she was obviously struggling with it. She mentioned that if I were to return, someone else would need to cut his hair. Ultimately, I did not receive what I had requested and my dog was very aggravated afterwards from not being handled properly. I know that the groomer was probably inexperienced and she was a really sweet girl, however the prices aren’t cheap and you are ultimately paying for a service. I was skeptical to go in the first place but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps that was just my experience with my specific groomer and others who are more senior, can work more efficiently but I was frustrated with the service and wasting my money. I will not be returning.

Everytime i go to petco on 86th Street and Lexington no one in the store offers to help me and I don't know what are the best products for my dog. Also I booked a grooming appt n was turned away at the apt due to a vaccine that my dog was scheduled to revieve the next day. The lady was pretty rude about it and I have not met a pleasant person in that store yet. Currently looking for other options. I gave them 2 stars because they do offer a variety of services and products which I appreciate.

I don't have a pet yet, but I'm pretty sure all his or her food I'll get there!!! Such a lovely place and love prices!!!... also one thing that made me put my eyes on petco was the really good quality of food, that means they care about animals ❤️ as I do!!!

This place is great! I came in with some questions and concerns regarding my little yappin yorkie. The staff in the store are always super helpful. Today I received great pointers for feeding my dog and what programs may work best for yorkies in regards to socialization training. HUGE THANKS TO AMARIS & MOSES! THEY WERE AMAZING!! The rest of the staff is great too.

There is a wide selection of goods to choose from along with furniture items. Most locations is close to a train station stop this easy to get to. The online shop is also easy to navigate and shop from. Price points is pretty reasonable also.

I have taken my dog, who has had some issues after being re-homed four months ago, to be groomed twice. Both times I was very clear on his potential behavior issues but the grooming staff was amazing and supportive and took care of him. Today I was very excited to tell the grooming staff we have been seeing a behavior vet who has him on medication, and his behavior is vastly improved and getting better every day. I was surprised to find out he was not allowed to be groomed because of the medication. I spoke with a manager, who was polite and professional, for clarification. My argument was if a drunk person came into a bar and was served twice but wasn't served when sober would that make sense? I was told it was a liability issue. Why is it more of a liability when his potential behavior issues are mitigated? I understand it is policy; however, saying it is flawed is a massive understatement. The policy feels as if it punishes people for being responsible pet owners. I have been brand loyal to Petco for dog grooming for over ten years, but I will not return for grooming or purchases. Patronizing a small grooming business is better anyway.

Poor communication within the store with staff In separate departments and caused me an unnecessary trip and mental/emotional breakdown. How do they not expect that their customers have fur babies because of a need in emotional/mental support?!

I got my dog to a nice grooming but when I came back my dog look bad and I asked why didn’t you do what I said I don’t have photos of my dog but they need to have better hearing and better experience

I have no problems with their products, however I’m in the Training class which we just ended Level I, very productive I must say…let’s see where the next Level takes us. Still a learning process for both Chewy and myself but it’s fun and she actually is learning!!

Staff aren't reliable. Some are very rude. The birds literally act like not birds. They just stay still like they're on medication or something. Most staff are really annoyed when you ask them a question and I don't understand why. The animals are alright and the store is pretty clean.

Only four stars simply because the item I wanted was not in stock. I chose something different and new for my cat and thankfully she loves it. Wish I has bought more now that I know she approves. Overall a great experience as usual. Very friendly and efficient cashier who I have encountered before. Very satisfied.

2 salt system with pretty much only damsels, a small selection compare to the old location. They had 1 koi/Goldfish system (6 tanks), 1 GloFish system, and 5 assorted freshwater system. Store looked pretty well stocked. No one said hello while here but the store itself is alright

The grooming team at the Lexington Ave Petco is amazing! My dog always comes out perfectly bathed and happy. The price is fair and includes nail trimming, tooth brushing, and shaving the paw pads. I’ve tried other grooming locations in the area where each of these things cost extra. I also love the special packages they offer with seasonal scents and holiday bandanas.

This is my local Petco and I love it their. After I placed my order online it was ready in less than half hour. I went to pick it up and when I checked out I had questions about the store price compared to the online price and she took her time to explain it all to me and check to make sure I had the best price possible.
