More than ten years ago this pet store was pleasant and friendly to visit. Now this shop needs to close. The person running the shop is rude. He even told me to go to another pet store. If this is a family business; he sure is running it down. The vet is great no problems. Now I shop at other pet stores.

I brought my cat Mia in for her annual examination, vaccinations and to address an issue which she was given specific medication for and has been improving. I was extremely satisfied with the young women who work in the office as well as the Veterinarian Dr. Kolta, who is experienced, caring and thorough. I shall look forward to returning for her next visit as both of us were made to feel very comfortable. Thank you Ideal.

This is a family owned business that has been around for many years in this neighborhood and for most part definitely remember their customers it’s my favorite pet shop as I got many variety of animals myself from snakes,dogs ,fish,cats,turtles and beardiesThis shop has many options on pets and their needs. From wee wee pads to live animals and all food that your cats ,dog,fish or reptiles may need. If your not sure just ask and they definitely do their best to make sure you leave with a smile. Thanks again Brianna and junior you were awesome. Your customer service skills was on point just like the rest of your family.

Was looking for pet shampoo. Store need to close. Due to worker behavior. Very nasty attitude. Tried to intimidate me to a physical altercation. The store does not look presentable. If you want to treat a customer the way I was treated... You have no business skills. CLOSEMust be a money laundering spot we witnessed black plastic bags & money exchanges..the people we saw look like druggies...

This location is the worst by far worst place to enter be aware of how you are treated and greeted and don't get upset if I didn't tell you so but the service u will get is really really bad.one of the best example I can give u is recent customer purchased pet food item that was sold expired only to be told not to get a refund!! As a witness I went to go buy bait for fishing with a buddy of mines.we asked for fresh bunkers the man returned with frozen bunkers stating it is fresh when it was frozen solid when we refused to buy the purchased item the man in encounter older gentleman started screaming and cursing saying u going to take this item because I'm not going back to put this away.we waited in the line with few other people only to be told our money is not going to be refunded because we wasn't vocal about it which was a lie .we never asked for frozen we asked for fresh bunkers.they have only frozen nothing fresh and usually these frozen items are more then 3 months old.Majority of the time they claim it is fresh but the truth is each and everyone that goes to buy the bait states it is decomposed old bait.

I love going to ideal pets!!! The Mom and Pop atmosphere!-The knowledge the patience and the willingness to always always listen and give me guidance with my pets it's a blessing! I recently traveled with my the turtles and was given directives on how to moisten cardboard or newspaper to transport them. My babies made it on a13 hour journey! Just fine. I'm so grateful! Thank You for being a great place to service the pets and pet patents like me in the community!!!

Decent selection of pet products, but a low selection of fishing gear. Prices are out of control for fishing bait, and hours are incorrect. The hours from what I have seen are closer to 12-6

This place is 1 half the price of your average vet and the doctor genuinely knows what he's doing and wont try to take you to the bank. The place has a long wait time but is walk-in without having to make an appointment. Closed on wed and sun. Advice. Arrive 15 min before 5 am to make sure you are one of the first online. Bring any supporting or historical medical records for your pet with you.

Ideal Pet Warehouse is a neighborhood treasure. They have everything a pet store would have, plus a good selection of odds and ends that a pet owner occasionally needs and you can't find elsewhere. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are just right for a neighborhood store.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Trust me. There is an older gentleman there that appears to be the store owner who is the rudest and condescending guy I have yet met in retailing/customer service. He has to always be right, ignorant and rude service. Don't believe me? Take a trip there and when you see him see how he reacts if you show up with some knowledge or correct him and notice he will lose his temper.I was there with my mother looking at the birds. I had done extensive research on a few birds and am familiar with his store policies. While there I not only politely corrected him but my mother witness the entire conversation and was also disgusted with his behavior and language with not only towards me but her. He eventually proceed to not only dismiss us during conversation but verbally started attacking us. At this point my mother left the store and did not want to be put in this situation and as I explained to him that was no way to speak or treat customers he simply yelled at me to get out his store and say "don't let the door hit you on your way out" This verbal harassment was because of us simply making some corrections to his "knowledge" and politely noting some differences. I strongly believe that everyone does not hold all the knowledge and when it comes to animals there is always new information. Either way when someone has a different opinion is this the way to treat them? I certainly do not recommend ANYONE going to this pet store. Toxic owner and not supporting his business. My mother certainly does not deserve to be treated this way or anyone's.

This Doctor is always so detailed about how he handles and care for my animals he thoroughly checks them and listens to me describe what is going on with my pets and based on what he see and and test results he's always don't his best to get my little ones back to health I thank God for this kind and Gentle Doctor.. Mood swings. Where do I begin with this, I bought a lovebird from them a few months back and the story they gave me changes every time and with each trip back to the store I get attitudes. I am on the market for another and said I would come back but they have got the nastiest attitudes over the phone but show up at their store you get greeted nicer.When I bought this bird originally a few months back they told me the sex and would help get me the other pair when I was ready. I come back a few months later and they tell me no, they never know the sex, they can't help me and when I ask further questions they get really rude (hang up, half answers and provide misleading info) Would anyone consider this good service?I went to the store eventually since they are a ways from my house and I did not want to waste a trip but due to needing more food for my current bird I went and I got another story/attitude.The man there made excuses for the other people working there and said that sometimes they are overworked and need breaks and sometimes their bad moods are a result of this. I was polite, explained my situation and he agreed to give me a call back once they got more in stock. He even apologized for their behavior over the phone and in good faith thought they would finally honor their word.Today a friend called and they told him that they did have some in stock but sold therefore they did not only not call me but keep giving me the run around. What I have learned from this place and other reviews here is that if you come into their store or call they will give you a nasty attitude for asking questions or if they are either busy or having a rough day which by no means any excuse for poor customer service. There is an older man there that is the nastiest of them all which be warned will be very short in replies and show little patience towards customers even over the phone.I would say for the best chance of getting ANY service go to their store or test your luck over the phone but not recommended. Also do not take their word for anything that they may promise or tell you in their sales or future stock. If you are looking for a friendly place to not only buy your next family member (pet) and continue business in the future skip it and find another neighborhood pet store with quality personal.I have heard that there are 2 sets of personal the day and afternoon shift. I bought my bird in the afternoon and the nasty people are there in the day. If this makes you reconsider do try them in the afternoons for better slightly better service.This is all I can share to help other fellow buyers based on a handful of visits to this store.PS: They sell lovebirds as of 8/27/17 for $150 and just found a place that carries them aswell for $80 so not only do they charge way more but their attitude was not worth the investment so I will be now taking my business elsewhere. I am all for keeping my business in house and be a returning customer but ran out of patience as well with the level of service and the price is way better elsewhere.

I come here for the vet. Used to come here as a kid to see the display windows with the kittens, puppies and the huge turtle. They're very friendly! Now I have a dog that I adopted that I take to see the vet upstairs. Hes pretty great and genuinely cares for the animals.

I bought my Toy Maltese from here his name is Dash and he is now 7 years old and looks like a tiny puppy doesn't have those ugly tear stains most dogs do. This was my primary concern when I was going to purchase a Maltese.. Thank you and Ive always loved the HUGE turtle they've had for years.

When you google it says open at 9 AM.. so I went over there at 9:30AM .. closed. I called at 10:30 AM and their answering machine picked up, I called again at 11:45, just a few minutes ago and still their answering machine picked up. Their random opening times was the main reason I stopped going to them years ago, but now that Petsmart is closing on 117th and pleasant this is the closest pet store. They need to do better.

A little background: I've lived in this E. Harlem neighborhood for 10 years and love it and always try to shop locally. I have had cats for years and bought the occasional item for them here and never had any issues. I do not get cat food or litter here cause they do not carry what I prefer. I've recently gotten into fish and aquariums. I started this by shopping at Petsmart about 6 months ago. Maybe 3 months ago it dawned on me to go here. I went in 5 consecutive times over 5 weeks and the fish area was closed. I was told it couldn't be opened on each occasion. A sixth time, last week, I walked in saw that it was chained off as usual and walked out without a word to anyone. what was the point. I'm sure I had a disgusted look on my face however. Today, Sunday, June 9th, I walked in and noticed 3 employees, one being the owner. I noticed the fish area was again chained off. I asked if it could see the fish. I was told I had an attitude last time I was in and if I hadn't had that attitude maybe they'd open it for me. I said it had been my 7th attempt to shop here and was giving up. I'll go back to Petsmart and/or Petco. summary: 0 stars for a complete lack of basic customer service.

I went to this place after I did an instore pick up at the petsmart nearby for a bettafix for my betta fish. Petsmart did not have the item, so I went to ideal pet warehouse which is just a block away. Unfortunately they did not have it as well but the gentleman at the counter, Frank, informed me that they would be available in a week and he was very helpful and assisted me with all my questions and in the end he really wanted to help my fish. I'm glad he took the time to help me and my betta fish, as I am a first time fish parent. Looking forward to going back to ideal pet warehouse. Thanks again Frank !

I e been going to this pet store since it was on.120 at First Avenue. My childrens enjoy this place and the Banuchi family. This is a neighborhood pet store and family. Alot of good memories. I woul recommend everybody to still support this store. The veterinary are great.

This place is the oldest pet shop ,pet food supplies, and pet clinic in Spanish Harlem great prices, variety and very good for help and, advice on any pet and pet care needs usually open in the afternoon hours. Drop by, check it out you will love the place and the people. Enjoy.

This place also has bait so you could go saltwater fishing around manhattan or wherever you like. Also you could buy some fishing equipment, not much but enough to hold you until you get to your favorite bait shop. Now the pet shop does have everything you need for your pets.
