A dismal place, where practically everything you might want at a pharmacy (soap, toothpaste, shampoo) is locked away in a case. Bad store policies turn a 2-minute shopping trip into 30 minutes of waiting for someone to finally come respond to the “help needed” button and unlock the case.

On 9/25 I was panicking looking for a restroom in Harlem. I wasn’t going to be able to make it to Jersey City where I reside.I found a Duane reade on 125th st, I asked if I could use the restroom, mind you it’s empty in there, didn’t think it would be a problem. the associate and security guard was very spicy/unprofessional. I asked for a number to corporate. The associate said I’ll get the store manager. The store manager said there is a number on your receipt.As a pregnant woman, I’ve never felt so dismissed and discouraged in my life. So Duane Reade/Walgreens in nyc doesn’t allow their pregnant customers at that never mind regular Customers or older customers who keep their business going ,to use their restroom? It’s very sad and if you check I’m a huge Walgreens customer. NOT ANYMORE! I will take my business else where.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever been to. They consistently don’t have my prescriptions that they’ve alerted me are ready, or claim prescriptions that have been ordered haven’t. They repeatedly tell me there are random issues with my insurance, but then my insurance states there’s no problem. They have extremely rude staff, terrible customer service and overall make me dread picking up my medication every single time.

Absolute worst pharmacy I’ve ever been to. I was due to pick up my medication today, but the pharmacy is unexpectedly “temporarily closed”. I’ve been frantically trying to reach my doctor to get my prescription transferred since I’m out of my medication. This is an incredibly unreliable pharmacy with some of the rudest staff I’ve encountered. I do not recommend this place at all. Try Hartley Pharmacy or any other local pharmacies instead, not this god forsaken place. I’ve had a horrible experience every time I’ve come here.

This pharmacy is a joke. I thought the point of urgent care is urgency! Waited hours for a simple prescription pickup that was sent from a block away. The pharmacy tech suggested I go back to urgent care to tell them to resend the prescription. I did. Still waiting............. Unacceptable.....

Went there last week to pick up a medicine purchased online. I told the cashier that I didn't need the paper bag, so she removed it and checked me out. Then I found on the receipt I was still charged the 5 cents bag fee, so I asked her why. She was basically very arrogant and just said that's the bag fee. I then asked for that bag that I paid for, thinking that at least I could reuse it somewhere else. But she said she had discarded it. That was less than 15 sec in total from she checked me out, and she didn't show any intention to retrieve that bag for me. I ended up leaving with confusion and disappointment. What a terrible employee...

I’m considering never stepping into this store again. It’s your typical overpriced Duane Reade pharmacy with decent options, it’s clean and it’s almost always stocked, so I’ve provided stars for that. What bothers me about this location in particular is that almost every time I come into this store I feel I am followed. Security and employees hover around me. The intercom system will go off indicating that that customer service is needed in a part of the store that I will be standing in (with no one near me), when in fact I haven’t pressed any button indicating that I need help yet, sometimes conveniently they just magically have the most minuscule of items to restock right next to me and hang out around me and say nothing (with the exception of employees that were already there stocking items); other times, out of the corner of my eye I consistently see security (which usually hangs out by the front of the story when I walk in) or an employee is walking around me or in an isle near me. This has happened a multitude of times, no matter the section of the store in, no matter if I’m dressed in a casual hoodie, “street wear” that may be deemed “suspicious” or dressed more professionally. The result of this is that is a barrage of employees come up to me repeatedly to ask if I need help or hang around me to the point where I feel uncomfortable. At this point I’d rather just go to the CVS on 125th street (which i would guess, statistically speaking experiences more theft because it’s more of an epicenter than broadway and 125th st is, but at least I don’t feel uncomfortable there), it’s becoming an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience to shop at this Duane Reade location.Also, for extra ghetto points: A duane reade employee (a young man) came out and called a man a “bum” for allegedly stealing a Gatorade. While it’s wrong to steal and I don’t condone it, it certainly isn’t protocol to come out the store in your uniform and insult someone. Handle that internally. The man he confronted mentioned a possible knife and could’ve caused a bigger scene. (This just happened in front of me around the time I typed up this review, while I was standing in front of this Duane Reade.)(Edit: my original review had 2 stars but after witnessing this, it’s clearly also an issue of management, customer service and training of your employees at this location. I’ve taken off one star.)A note to management: if you’re trying to prevent theft I completely understand because you are a business at the end of the day, but please find a less obvious and uncomfortable way to do so. Until then, I recommend the CVS on 125th and St. Nick as a better alternative. Not that it should matter but I am brown person with curly brown hair and I am not comfortable shopping here although I don’t commit theft. Please, train your employees to handle theft prevention better and also try to be less obvious with the unsolicited help using the intercom system.

The website for this location plus the automated phone message stated that one can get passport pictures here.The store has no photo section. The worker I asked for help was nice, and confirmed that the website is wrong.

The most unprofessional I have ever been to. I scheduled a COVID vaccine shot for the pfizer shot SPECIFICALLY, and travelled for AN HOUR just to come here since it was one of the only available places that provided pfizer. After arriving there, the workers with an attitude, told me that they don't have pfizer, and that they only have moderna and J&J. They didn't bother to contact me, email me, or message me that they did not have the vaccine that I was scheduled for. I then ended up leaving without getting my vaccine, and nothing for the massive inconvenience they have provided to me.

Not all employees wearing masks properly. It’s not a chin strap. Cover BOTH your mouth AND nose. This is a pharmacy and you need to be considerate that they’re customers vulnerable to infection. WEAR THE MASK PROPERLY. Even the security guard.

So on wed. 10/30/20 at 10:20 a.m.I went to pick up a bottle of hand sanitizer and I dropped it on the floor and the spout got chipped.Cashier keeps telling me I need to pay for it and said she wasn't kidding.I just smiled like I didn't speak english and paid for my other things.In short.. this is the last time I do business here and I hope corporate reads this and finds out who she is.

0 stars! Never stepping foot in here again after being racially profiled! After a pleasant brunch at nearby Toast (with doggie bag), I stopped in to Duane Reade to pick up some toiletries. The most *basic* items were under lock and key (I mean bath/shower soap, for God's sake)! You have to ring a "Customer Service" bell to get somone to open up. So I rang the bell and patiently waited. A security guard ran from the back and yelled "Sir if you have anything in the bag put it back!!!"I had to look around to see who he was talking to. When I realized he meant me, I became enraged! But I just opened the bag, showed him my left over salad, and walked out to post this review! I "Vote" with my feet!

As soon as I exited Duane Reade on West 50th Street and Broadway I was called by young lady named Judy at the Google local and her refreshing personality reminded me of the bottled water that I just purchased from Duane Reade. The cashier was awesome. I will definitely be coming back to purchase more items if I find myself ill I will visit a pharmacy.

Once I came to the register with the wrong kind of soda and one of the workers walked it back for me and brought the right one. Another time, I needed skittles and someone moved three crates to help me get them. I go here at least 3 times a week and i've never had any problems.

Horrible customer service. Do not get vaccinated here! You will have to stand in line with people dropping off and picking up prescriptions and buying items, even if you have an appointment. Cashier very rude.

This really is the worst, poorly stocked so-called drugstore I’ve ever been to. They lack basics like isopropyl alcohol, baking soda, and drain cleaner. Hmmm...wonder why?The pharmacy tends to be okay but give them a solid day to fill any scripts called in. You’re better off going to another big drugstore in the early 100s.

This site has gotten better but I’m not a fan of having random people who work there follow me and look at me while I shop like a shop lifter. Next time it happens I will record it on my phone because I live in this area and shop here so I should be treated with courtesy and respect.

Horrible place dont shop here very rude lazy ppl i wanted to buy nail polish & i waited in line and an other empolyee cut in front of me n i told them i was in line n there responds was itll only take a sec i ask for the manger n he didnt do anythin jus walked off horrible way to treat ur customers, i finally got attened after the 2 employees finish there 10min convo just for the nail polish not to ring out the girl said she couldnt sell it to me cuzvit wont ring out yet it was on the sales floor with a pricec tag the manager came out again n made up a sku# that made the product double the price n went against there listed price tag dont shop here bunch of thiefs

Today i Went around 8:15pm for western union they said after 8 it does not work what a stupid exuse plus there was no sign that informed that. N noone helped me uneducated manager.
