In my experience, the pharmacy here has always been very efficient and reliable. I was using a different Duane Reade location that was closer to me, but my prescriptions were never ready, and they would never let me know the status ahead of time, so I switched back to this location. I always get a call when my prescriptions are ready and I really appreciate that. Worth the extra walk for us.

The place is fine - the staff - whew!Today I went for a greeting card & batteries. I thought while I’m here I’ll grab a beer. When I got to the register my cashier turned to her manager and said does he need his ID? Manager said yes - not a pic of it but the actual ID.Back and forth - I get it - my bad - she’s just doing her job. But come on - I’m 50 & she said I’m stupid for leaving the house without my Id and walking around like a *****Unnecessary escalation & just rude. That’s how you treat customers? Be better sis - smile it wont hurt ya

I think this is the worst pharmacy in manhattan. Ordered a prescription refill the day before planning on picking it up, walk in 24 hours later and it’s still not ready. No urgency behind the counter after waiting 10 mins so I walk out.Easier to transfer it to a less convenient location than deal with this ineptitude.

One of the worst in the city. They have one great employee.Their pharmacy used to be very efficient in the past however now they are a mess. Poorly run and the auto refill notifications are a joke. No one seems to be fulfilling prescriptions.

12/25/21, needed some pictures for family members, on Christmas Duane Reade was open with working equipment, my photos were ready in a half a hour. Giving me time to pick up last minute things.

This one goes out to the pharmacist I had the misfortune of interacting with this evening….Big thumbs down. Pharmacy does not answer the phone. Pharmacy staff is inexperienced. Made a med error with my child’s antibiotics. Did not dispense enough to cover the doses. Was never discussed with me. I attempted to call to get remainder of doses dispensed and they told me they couldn’t because it’s only dispensed in 75ml bottles (in spite of the fact that dosage/frequency/#doses are all that were specified in the rx) and made me wait while they called my pediatrician to have a whole new prescription written. Staff refused to relent that they were incorrect for dispensing improper amount in the first place. This was a huge inconvenience for me having to present to the pharmacy in person as they actually silence their phone and do not answer it. And when I came to the pharmacy I had to wait. In between work and returning home to my kids. The staff should at the very least acknowledge their mistake as they attempt to correct it. I should also not be charged for a full second course as they’re dispensing a full second bottle but they were “unable to dispense it as two bottles” in the first place. They also underdiluted the medication which is very dangerous for small kids as dosages are then higher than intended-speaking as a healthcare provider. This is a medication error and can result in patients not finishing their course of antibiotics out of the sheer difficulty of obtaining a new one due to 145th Duane Reade’s poor customer service. It’s also dangerous. It was also suggested to me that dispensing a second bottle or a new bottle would be illegal. Which is patently ridiculous since they dispensed the incorrect amount in the first place but are perfectly willing to have my MD write an entirely new prescription. In a 200ml bottle no less. Which is obviously what they should have used the first time. They then filled it on a verbal order. Then my insurance wouldn’t pay since it was too close to the previous script and she attempted to charge $140 and offered zero assistance in having the script covered. I had to call my insurance and deal with it myself. Got it covered as I’m leaving town-which it turns out she could have done in the first place. I could have been spending time with my sick kid under the extenuating circumstances. Thanks for absolutely nothing. And as for the stressors of being a public facing healthcare worker- I understand completely. But I consistently go above and beyond for my patients because I’m a human being and understand how hard it is to make it through this life without compassion and people going the extra mile. May she encounter people just like her in her journey through life.

Could someone PLEASE EXAMINE TO ME WHY THIS STORE DOES NOT HAVE PRICES ON MOST THINGS AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE REGISTER EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED!!!! This is not my go to store. It is a last resort

Do not get your passport pictures here! Some clerks don't care, others do. You won't know who you'll get - even supervisor may not care. A guy in line saw and said his pictures from there were rejected and had to reschedule his passport appointment. YIKES!I did the walk-in passport service at the library in (Ferguson library (?) in Connecticut, after leaving DR, just to discover they have passport picture service there too. Oh well.

My experience with the pharmacy staff has been positive. The issue I have is trying to reach the pharmacy on the phone. On hold for an hour and recording says there are "three callers ahead of me" How does it take an hour to answer 3 phone calls? Also, when it is time to pick up a prescription there is rarely more than one person on the register, so the line is almost always looooong. The on-line portal is completely lacking (and confusing). I logged into Duane Reade but ended up on a Walgreens site. Smh. No easy way to get anything done regarding prescriptions when it comes to Duane Reade. I wish my health insurance used CVS.

Terrible! I walked over to the pharmacy at 7:45pm on 06/06/2022 and they told me that they were closing. Then at 8:26pm on 06/06/2022, the gate for the pharmacy was closed. I was very confused because this pharmacy closes at 9pm on weekdays. And when I called because no one was coming up to me at the pharmacy, I was told by a woman “the pharmacy is closed, I don’t care where you get your medication”. I’ve been use Duane Reade Pharmacy for 23 years. I’ve never experienced this. I am a LOYAL customer. Please do something about this Duane reade!

Duane Reade on 145th St has been my pharmacy since it opened. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially in the pharmacy. Many of the employees have been there for years. I'm in Mexico 6 months of the year and when I return I am welcomed back. I feel very fortunate that Duane Reade is my local pharmacy.

Rude manager. 15 minutes of being ignored passed my appointment time for the Covid vaccine when there were no other people waiting for assistance, got a bad unapologetic attitude from this Pharmacy manager. How am I supposed to trust him administering an injection when he can't control his temper?

I went in for passport photos today and was told “it’s broken.” So recommend going to another location. Preferably not in the neighborhood as all of the nearby CVS/Walgreen stores have the same issue.It’s sad how underserved this community is.

I get you have to follow guidelines and protocol, but there are times when you need to make an exception.Not accepting a verbal Rx as a pharmacy is the equivalent of a McDonalds not accepting someone coming up to the counter and ordering a burger.I am a regular customer, and have been regularly disappointed. I hope my scrip is in on Monday, or I’m never using this place again.

Awful customer service. A bunch of disrespectful disgruntled employees even the pharmacist is mean. I have to go there sometime but I dread it. The security guards follow you and give dirty looks just a real greasy location!!!

It deserves zero stars the customers service level is ridiculous no kind of professionalism whatsoever, the staff needs better training just as much as the manager change the entire staff, and the store is dirty is like they don’t even Mop smells like sewage water !!

Many basic missing items. For example, selling contact soaking solution without selling having cleaning solution available.This has happened every visit over the past few months. And the employees don’t care. Very Sad!

I have been on the line on hold with the pharmacy for over an hour. If you think they're busy they're not. Just saw there is no on in line so if you need to speak to a pharmacist, you'll need to go in the store or stay on eternal hold.

Absolutely a horrible experience.I only went there to get a booster shot appointment, unfortunately I was told to reserve my appointment online, which I then informed the staff that I tried to online first before even coming.I was then told to call head quarters because there website is down and that in-store appointment setting was non-existing.So why not post that there website and in-store appointment booking are not available at this time.So big waste with Duane Reade!I have now decided that I'm not even going to move forward with them.So look out for my next post,I'm going to let everyone know the best spot to go to with no quarrels.

They stand in the front listening to the bell for assistance and stand around looking like they don’t have a care in the world.
