A very upscale, uppaw maybe? Service was very good. Attentive as soon as I walked in. Stopped by to pick up some treats and a gift for my pups 7th birthday. A good selection of USA made natural treats. Lots of clothing for your dogs too.

I am writing this review because the people that work in this store are truly wonderful. I just witnessed a white woman yelling at several employees because the color the the doggy sweater she was looking for was the incorrect (in her words, “ugly”) shade of green. She demanded the store pay for her $20 cab because she was sent from another store that didn’t have the color she wanted in stock to this one presumably because someone told her they had it in stock. The employees were so gracious and apologetic and informed her that they didn’t not have the color and size she wanted. She repeatedly told them to “go look again! Did anyone actually look!?” “I took a $20 cab here so someone should pay for my cab. So ur just saying ‘screw the customer’? I need to speak to the manager!” She was one of the rudest customers I have ever witnessed in NYC. She then took a call on her phone as I was paying and I overheard her say “my driver just picked up the kids” — this woman has a driver and is asking for this small business to pay for her $20 cab ride! Absolutely outrageous! Her name was JOANNE. The staff should not have to put up with this treatment. They should be commended for their patience and professionalism. They are doing a great job keeping the store neat and tidy, and are very helpful at finding what you are looking for.

We received a very large gift certificate for Canine Styles that we neglected to use. The gift certificate was only valid for one year and it expired a year ago. Without asking for any details, the store refused to honor one cent of it. I'll buy my gifts somewhere else!!!

On the left I purchased the Wellness puppy bites from Citipups in Chelsea last week, price tag shows 5.99. On the right I purchased the same thing today from Canine Styles for a whooping 100% more at 12.00. Its 4.49 on Amazon. What's with the ridiculous overpricing?

I have a border terrier that gets hand stripped, which is a hard grooming service to find. Tanya does an amazing job every time. I only recommend her for hand stripping. Yes it's expensive but it's only needed twice a year. Otto is always happy to see his Canine Style friends!

Do yourself a favor and just go to Petco. The staff here are only attentive when they are trying to force sell you something. Everything in the store is absurdly overpriced, with absolutely no shame.I bought a brush I was pressured into by a sales associate, being told it would deshed my short hair dog. I was skeptical and asked if she was sure 3x. She *assured* me it would. It did no such thing.I went to return it and they told me they don’t take refunds, only store credit. There was nothing of remote value I could find for $20, so spent an additional $10 to not have the $20 wasted. Then, there is only one person who can do exchanges, so I had to wait while she finished a phone convo with an employee that was dragging and non urgent.Huge waste of time and money, and they’re not even nice people. You will get fairer prices, a real return policy, and nicer employees at petco. I wanted to support a small business but unfortunately this place isn’t worth it.

I’m going to have to agree with the negative reviews on this place. Yes they are stocked but everything is ridiculously overpriced. While the younger guy at the desk was nice, everyone else he worked with was rude and dismissive. They’re all stuck up. The groomers are ok…. I came to drop off a dog for my friend and I’ve seen better jobs done. Don’t waste your time here. If you love your pet do your due diligence and take it somewhere else

It is ok.To be honest, the shelves are packed with non moving overpriced merch at both locations. Staff ranges from great to disinterested. Basically a good job, but a simple wash and cut ends up over $180 incl a 20% tip. They may may need these price points. I don't.

Great selection and service. I went today to buy a warm winter coat for my dog. They have a huge selection and helpful salespeople. As soon as I walked in they were attentive, and worked with me to find the right coat and size, and kept my dog happy with some treats. Nice quality coat.

This store is close to where I work, so it is pretty convenient if I need so goods for our pets.They have a vast array of pet products from clothes to leashes to food and treats. All stylish and in all kinds of sizes. It is a very small store, but somehow they manage to fit a lot things in there. They have boarding for small dogs in the bag. They also do grooming in the back. I have never done these services here so I can not attest to themI have never been treated rudely like some other customers. But, I have never been treated nicely either. No one really tends to me when I go in. They are overpriced though, but the convenience, for me, is worth it.

We have an Airedale who is stripped by Ella. This was our 4th time and I have got to say, THE BEST! Karen at the front of the shop is always helpful and attentive. This is not the least expensive "Pet Store" in the city. But, you really get what you pay for be it food, toys, or the service.Could not be happier.

The size of this place makes you think there might not be a plethora of things for your pup inside but you would be mistaken. The emphasis in this particular location is coats. I spent a pretty penny to get one for Nalaa. They helped me figure out her coat size (yes really) and the best color for her coat without her being there and the decision was spot on.My Canine has style! ...full circle people..full circle.

I will make sure to write as many bad reviews as possible in all social media. I was in this location on 81 street and I go there once a month or so bc I like their stuff. I asked for a nail trimming and when the dog was given back to me and I was walking for some other goodies I saw blood all over the floor. I was scared shocked and sad. I couldn't believe it. The lady at the front desk is pure evil horrible. She called a person like if nothing happened here. Not even to say sorry to me. Then a guy comes and heals my dog w a powder to stop the bleeding I myself had to ask the guy to give extra of that powder bc I was afraid of the dog getting an infection. I NEVER HEARD THE WORD SORRY FROM NO ONE!!!!!! I will make sure everyone I know hear about this incident and never go to this place.

This place frustrates me. They're overpriced, but not extensively so. I always feel as though I'm treated indifferently, ALMOST to the point of rudeness. My dog gets well coiffed and seems well enough treated, but she doesn't seem to like it there.

Bought a La Cinopelca harness for $200 (you can find them online for less than half the price), and I was assured that the gold hardware wouldn't rub off. Sure enough, a few weeks in, the hardware was silver. To make matters worse, the harness leather actually snapped in half. I went back to the store to be told I need to contact La Cinopelca by googling them. There is no contact for the company online, so I emailed Canine Styles for a resolution twice so far (about 2 weeks have elapsed) and still have no response. Avoid this place if you want quality products and decent customer service.

We have a wired haired mini dachshund and Canine Styles is one of the few places that knows how to properly "strip" wired haired dogs. A bit expensive but worth it knowing my dog is being taken care of properly.

Expensive, but worth it.The staff is pleasant and competent, and the boys always look good coming out of there. We've been going there for years, after several unsuccessful attempts at find a groomer in the neighborhood.
