I worked with my vet to get a medication ready for my dog after it being discharged after an ACL surgery. Not only did my medication not arrive. Pets Best did not even have any contact with their couriers to find out when medication deliveries will happen. I regret using them, I am now sitting at home waiting for a delivery I am not even sure is going to happen, while my dog is suffering without his medication.

We use Best Pet RX for all our rescue dog prescriptions, and not only is their customer service amazing, their rescue pricing is incredibly competitive. Linda the rescue coordinator is so friendly and helpful. Thankful we found Best Pet RX!

I have been ordering meds for my dog from this pharmacy monthly for the last 6 months. The techs are always super helpful and I always receive them within 2 days even though I live on the other side of the country. One of the meds is half the price at Best Pet compared to what I paid at a local pharmacy. They even provide me with gloves for handling the chemo drug. I highly recommend Best Pet Rx for their reliability, price, and support

They only have one competent person working there. Prices are INSANE. We have been charged $90+ per month for medication that our vet recommended we get on chewy for $20. Chewy delivered in the same timing (since best pet Rx is always late or delayed) and it was such a better experience

My cat Cashmere developed heart issues this past this year and has to take several daily medicines. I tried different pharmacies but I like Best Pet the most. They compounded the medicine for me I love that they will give you a different flavor if you call within 5 days. That is an amazing service feature because the medicines are so expensive to compound. Also, Best Pet is the fastest when it comes to deliveries and wait times on the phone are minimal.I highly recommend them.

Five stars to the pharmacy, customer service, and delivering!!!One of my medicines for my old animal was considered pending and I was worried of a major delay because of a holiday weekend. They said they’d resend me a new medication free of charge because they wanted to make sure my pet got his medicine and would NEVER go without his medicine, and they did JUST that! They were very compassionate and understanding to my problem, and it doesn’t hurt that whenever I call up for a refill they are ALWAYS kind and courteous. 5 stars for the pharmacists as well, they are always happy to answer my questions no matter how weird or obscure! And yes, I do even recommend this to other animal owners that need the best animal medicine care!

Our nearly 12 year old dog requires heart medication three times daily. We called before her prescription ran out and were told her medications would be delivered on Friday between 7-11pm. At 6 pm on Friday, we were called that the medication wasn’t in stock and it would be delivered Monday. Not ideal, but things happen. Monday evening, we called to confirm the medication would be delivered between 7-11pm. The delivery was confirmed and we waited for the medication. We waited…and waited…and waited. At midnight we fell asleep after waiting 5 hours and then woke up to a text that at 12:45 AM a delivery attempt was made. A 1 AM delivery was attempted on a MONDAY?! We are so upset especially since these medications are for our old girls heart. If I could negate stars from this business I would. What a horrible experience. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I have only had extremely positive experiences with BestPetRx. Once a package got lost in the mail but they responded quickly and sent a new package immediately. BPRX has always been courteous, responsible and reliable.

Best Pet Rx was supposed to deliver pain relief for my cat the day of her major oral surgery. By the time they called, it was too late for same day delivery but they promised next day delivery between 7:00p and 11:00p. The next day, I called at 2:30p to confirm and they said it could even be later than 11:00p- frustrating, but ok. At 7:30p, literally 30 min after they closed, they send an automated text saying delivery is rescheduled to the next day between 8:00a-5:00p. It’s good I wasn’t working then and would be available, but now I’m worried about my cat suffering. The courier calls at 7:55a to double check the address (which I saw when I received the package they had both the correct address and an incorrect address listed) and asked for an approximate time. He said he’d be there very soon, saying “way before 12!”- he showed up at 12:15p complaining about construction and traffic. Now my cat’s most likely been in pain for 24 hours. I am now considering switching vets because if anything happens to any of my pets again, I need a vet that will just send me home with pain meds rather than risking my cat being in pain so they can use their partnership with this pharmacy. It says right on their website that orders placed by 4:00p will be delivered the same day from 7:00p to 11:00p- they were supposed to call me the morning of surgery and didn’t call me until 4:30p after I followed up with my vet that they hadn’t called, gave me a time window over 24 hours away, and then cancelled that time window and rescheduled through an automated text.

I used to love this pharmacy. I was a loyal customer throughout an ultimately-fatal illness with my cat in 2011-2012 and they were wonderful - responsive, reliable, etc. However, in the past few years, my experience with them has totally changed. Our current cat has a chronic condition that requires regular, compounded medications and we have had all sorts of issues with them and will be switching pharmacies going forward.First, they lost a submitted prescription, had me track down my vet to re-submit, and then tried to send me the same prescription twice when they randomly located the "lost" one after a few days - took us a dozen calls to get it all sorted out and pretty well ticked off my vet. Then, on our most recent delivery, they no-showed a delivery appointment, didn't contact us the next day, and then required us to call multiple times to confirm a new delivery appointment. They then told us that the delivery person would arrive "early" in the window (since we have a toddler and the window went to 11PM, which we had already waited up for the prior night for the no-show), which also did not happen. Then just generally, throughout these issues, the hold times are consistently 10+ minutes, reps are unhelpful and/or uninformed and/or not-nice, we were repeatedly told throughout both issues that someone would call us back but no one ever did. And, as others reviewers have mentioned, they charge your card FIRST - so multiple times, they've charged me (now pretty high prices, comparatively) what wound up being days before I was able to locate/receive the medication. It's a bummer to be forced to switch companies when I had such a positive experience with them previously. I hope that they sort out their issues, but I won't let my pet suffer needlessly while they do.

When you have delivery- nothing is going to be perfect. You have to depend on weather conditions, traffic, etc. The medications, for me, have been great! My cat has multiple myeloma and the chemo pills they fashion are Tic Tac size and great for him to swallow. Do order early- like days early. Where I am, I am dependent on UPS which creates the problem perhaps. My recent order the operator told me for sure would come in two days and that I would be notified by UPS when the shipment came. The Medication came a day early with no notification from UPS or Best Pet RX so it was sitting there when I got home after a long shift at work- normally if I know a shipment is coming I leave work to drive home on my lunch break and put it in the refrigerator. Ultimately the medication no longer needs to be packed in ice though it should be refrigerated upon delivery - but my concern now would be 90 degree days if it was left outside without me knowing it was there. Try to order 8 days -at least- before they need a refill as the company has been good with sending replacement medication if delivery is bad.

So grateful for this place. I've had several experiences with them where they compound an extremely necessary medication for my cats in a way that's truly palatable for them. I've spent the money at other places and then my cats won't tolerate it so then what good is it? Best Pet Rx not only produces great products but sends them quickly and carefully packaged in accordance with temperature control needed to maintain the chemical integrity. Their commitment to quality control means everything.

I had a conversation with Best Pet RX not 1, 2, or even 3 times but 4 times that I get up at 4:00 a.m. for my job. When do they send the delivery at 9:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. I explained that I was woken from my sleep to get up and come out for the prescription and that my neighbors were being woken as well. That doesn't matter to them they don't send out the driver unit 9:00 p.m.. When I simply wanted a refund and we would stop doing business I was told "We can take it back" and to beat the band I was told I would be called back by a supervisor in 15 or 20 minutes that didn't happen either. So if you want to save a couple of bucks for poor service then Best Pet RX is for you.

I'm mirroring other complaints. I paid for overnight delivery of my cat's chemotherapy drugs. It hasn't arrived, and it is a day after they said it would arrive if it weren't overnight delivery. If it were just once, I wouldn't complain, but it's the second time.Update: They followed up with me after I called our vet to find another way to get the medicine. They apologized and did not charge for an overnight-weekend delivery that did not happen. I added a star for their effort. The meds were delivered, just later that I had hoped.

Hit or miss customer service. They do not keep payment methods on file, so you have to call with your credit card for every refill. Then they call you back because they lost the number or wrote it down wrong, even though you had them read it back. Recently, my pet's medicine never came (even though I got a FedEx notification that said it was on its way). When it didn't show I called them and they said there was a hold on my order and they hadn't shipped it. Not great, when dealing with medicine and time is important. In short, filling an order takes entirely too much effort on the part of the customer.

I've had nothing but great service, very friendly and helpful, timely delivery. They have a great beef flavor that makes my dog actually look forward to the medicine, which is very important with critical medication. I understand sometimes things go wrong for other people, but I do think they try hard to get it right.

Yesterday I spoke with Joanna who stated that my cat’s meds would be delivered in one day and this just sounded too good to be true. It turns out it was too good to be true. We never received the meds, and were told when we called again earlier today that the meds were out for delivery but we never received the meds!

Well, I don't know where to begin. I would be fine with my medication being delivered late if it were because of the weather, but apparently that's not the case. This is medication for heart disease that needed to be specially compounded into a liquid for my cat. I was told it needed to be stored in the refrigerator and that it would get delivered today between 1pm-5pm. My fiance stayed home all day plus we have a doorman, so delivery shouldn't be much of an issue. 5pm came and there was still no delivery. I realize it's icy out, so I gave it more time, but then it was almost 6 and still nothing. I called customer service and the kind man told me it was still out for delivery but delayed due to the cold icy weather. I was relieved to hear that, but then an hour passed again and still no delivery. It's 5 minutes before your pharmacy closes, around 6:55pm, so I called again wondering what was going on. The lady on the phone decided to put me on hold for 4 minutes to check the delivery, came back a little after 7, told me it was delivered at 1:57pm and signed for, but neither my fiance or doorman had received anything. I told her to wait on the line for a minute to call downstairs incase there was a mistake, and she laughed and hung up. My medication was never delivered, and I am unable to call back because your pharmacy is closed. What the second rep told me doesn't add up to what I was told an hour prior, causing me to believe someone is lying, whether that be the delivery courier or your customer service. Either way, this was an awful first experience for a medication that costs nearly $100 dollars, which we were charged for before even receiving the medication.

FAILDelivery was confirmed for Monday 7pm-11pm with explicit instructions to leave meds at door if unanswered. Left the porch light on. By 11pm no delivery was made and went to bed. At 12:28am I received a text that a delivery attempt was made at 12:25am. Checked the door and no meds were left at door as promised. Not even a note to prove they were here. No phone call. Still waiting on life sustaining chemo meds for my dog to take asap. Inexcusable.

Never had a problem with this pet pharmacy till they jacked up the price of a single tube of medication by three hundred percent when I assumed that they sent 4 tubes as per normal. This is supposed to be fine since as they told my vet, "Well it's still a months supply." When I discovered the discrepancy I called and they say they will refund my money so I will see. I no longer trust them in the least however and will be taking my business elsewhere. They always did ship the pet medications out extremely quickly however. Though their automated system to do so is a joke and they will ALWAYS call you to confirm payment when you left this on their horribly outdated phone system. If you can find another place that is reliable I'd make use of them instead.

After placing an order the day before, Best Pet Rx called me at 9 PM (they were supposed to deliver earlier in the evening)to tell me they wouldn’t be able to deliver a life saving medication that night for my cat that just got out of the ER. This is absolutely unacceptable on the part of a pharmacy. Not only is it poor customer service and a complete lack of expectation setting, but it extends the pain my cat is in and puts his life at risk. Best Pet Rx is not a professionally run business and should not be trusted by anyone who is looking for reliability and accountability. Do not use this service.

I have a kitten who needed a prescription on Christmas Eve. Not the ideal time, I know, but the person who called from Best Pet Rx said the medicine would be delivered same-day. That is, until I gave her my (Manhattan) address and told her, when she asked, that I don’t live in a doorman building. Suddenly the earliest they could deliver would have been Monday. Otherwise, if I didn’t want to wait four days for my pet to get better, I would have to pick it up myself, which left me no choice. This added $60 to the $78 bill, since I had to take a car to get there in time, and there is no discount for picking up.Not saying I won't use them again, but they made a terrible first impression.Pros: Prescription filled quickly.Cons: Everything else.

I'm quite disappointed and upset by Best Pet Rx. My dog had been hospitalized and diagnosed with diabetes. The emergency vet called Best Pet Rx (BPRx) to order insulin for me to use at home. I was told it would arrive by the following Day (Thursday, I paid for O/N shipping) and in fact, it didn't arrive until Friday which was too late, my dog needed the medication. In consult with my general vet, we decided I should continue to use the same insulin my dog was prescribed in the hospital and have it provided by my general vet instead. They also advised me to refuse the package when it arrived, which I did immediately. BPRx received the package and informed me I would receive only a 10% a refund for the insulin and only the syringes in full due to perishability. When I mentioned I refused the package immediately, which was packaged on ice and it had been 20 - 30 degrees F out that week (insulin must be refrigerated, but shouldn't perish at this temperature...), I was berated by Mike, the pharmacist, for not calling BPRx right away (is that a prerequisite for refunds?). I then noted I was a little preoccupied as my dog was dying from a subsequent, unrelated complication and passed the following Monday. Mike told me he spoke with the owner and would provide the refund. Well guess what, I wasn't given an additional refund. Several times I contacted customer service and was told I'd be contacted later. I have never been contacted. I have also not received a receipt or description of costs. I want to advise anyone to use extreme caution in dealing with Best Pet Rx. Your local vet is likely cheaper and can provide the medication you need, which I found out afterward myself. I felt taken advantage of while my dog was suffering. I also felt BPRx was rude, dismissive, ignorant of my concerns, and dishonest/deceptive. Read other reviews, many people seem to have had the same experience. I wish them the best, but I don't appreciate being mislead and ignored.-Reply to owner response:I appreciate your reply, even though you had not responded to my calls and email. I'm sorry, but you are factually incorrect - your representative did not confirm with me a Friday delivery and, in my opinion, lead me to believe a Thursday delivery was going to take place. In any event, the fact that I didn't reach out to you for 4 days despite sending the package back immediately is irrelevant - would you have refunded me had I phoned you? Phoning you doesn't charge your argument. In those 4 days my dog was dying, as I understand you are sympathetic, so I apologize I was preoccupied caring for him. By law you don't have to accept the returned medication for resale, but ethically it would have been the right thing to do, especially after I was mislead when speaking with your representatives about my refund and then subsequently ignored (this reply being the exception). If you would like to reach out to me and rectify the issue then we can have further discussion. Again I wish you the best, but I don't agree with your business practices.

Pharmacist Nick threatened violence and said to come down to his location to fight. Avoid this company at all costs. Called Best Pet Rx today. Pharmacist Rick answered the phone. Before I could finish my sentence (regarding options available in stock for medication) was interrupted with "WHY ARE YOU CALLING, YOU VET SHOULD DO THIS". No - my Vet should not do this as he has no idea what you have in stock, this isn't a simple prescription. It is one where there are many options. I called to find out what options the pharmacy had in stock AND THEN my vet would call in the order.I don't appreciate rude and degrading people, nor do I tolerate them. I am sure a great deal of Best Pet Rx's customers are older, perhaps more passive. Nick clearly pulls this on other customers and most probably just take it because they don't know better. But the icing on the cake is the threat of violence. From a pharmacist. Think about that for a minute.People, just AVOID this place. Look at other reviews here. Double billing, money taken for orders that never arrive. And this is stuff I just learned about. Rick does not care about you or your animal. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY.

Worst customer service ever. My Vet called them on Tuesday to find out if they had a particular medication. They informed him that they have the medication in stock and it could be delivered between 7 and 10 PM as long as it was called in before 4 PM. He called it in before 3:00pm but they didn’t put it through until after 4:00. Wednesday morning I called them to explain that the situation was urgent and asked if they could deliver earlier. They refused to deliver earlier but assured me the meds would arrive between 7 and 10 pm. I canceled an appointment and rushed home only to discover a message on my voicemail explaining that they had made a mistake and did not have the medication in stock. I called this morning hoping they would make an effort to deliver earlier since the situation is dire and they had already made multiple mistakes. I explained that my pet might not even make it until tonight. They apologized for the “inconvenience.” I rushed home again to wait for them. There were zero updates and no way to reach them so allI could do was wait and hope. The meds did not arrive until almost 10:00pm.

One of our patients who is on a compounded chemotherapy medication needed a refill of the medication urgently. The veterinary oncologist had been using Best Pet RX, so we called to see if we could get the refill. Not only were they polite and helpful, but they truly delivered the very next day as promised from New York to Seattle. I couldn't believe it! Thank you for helping us care for our patient!

Best Pet Rx is simply beyond compare when it comes to veterinary pharmacies. My beloved feral cat had cancer, and during his three year journey, Best Per Rx compounded innumerable medications for him. Pilling a feral cat multiple times a day over three years? Wouldn’t have happened without Best Pet Rx, therefore, he wouldn’t have survived that long without them. With amazing care and infinite patience, they would work with me & his veterinarians to find the best formulation that he would tolerate whether it was a flavored chewable, transdermal, liquid, or injectable. Even if I didn’t choose the correct flavor they would suggest others until they found one he would tolerate. The pharmacists, especially Mike & Jenny, are extremely knowledgeable and would routinely answer my questions and handle my multiple concerns about his multiple prescriptions. If you call and are fortunate enough to get Linda Gray you’ve reached the best in the business. She knows everything about the medications, the formulations, learns about your particular pet’s issues, refers you to whoever you need to speak to to have your questions answered, makes sure everything is delivered, basically, does it all. Flawlessly. Ever have that feeling that your vet or pharmacy or anyone who deals with your pet, doesn’t even really like animals or what they are doing? You’ll feel the opposite here. They love animals, are dedicated to their work and genuinely want to help you and your pet. And they do.

No place in NYC has the variety/customized of meds your pet needs!!! Several times my pet needed meds customized for her small size, not only were they able to accommodate but they offered a selection of flavors to make them more palatable and delivered to you. The staff are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They make sure to package your order to meet necessary requirements, provided everything you need to administer meds and are punctual. They have and continue to be amazing!!!

A great service especially when your juggling work and a sick pet. The staff is knowledgeable and their customer service is on point. They get the medication to you as quickly as possible and make all the phone calls to the vet. They deliver as late as 11pm. God bless the guys who have delivered to me in the Bronx when I was so worried about my cat Ginger. Angels come in many ways. ❤
