Petco in Yonkers is the worst for grooming they called me saying my dog was “aggressive” and couldn’t continue with her haircut they way they gave it back to me was just 10x worst then when I took my dog there. Absolutely unacceptable! Took her to another grooming place and they did a great job and no complaints just really professional. Never taking her back to this place. I posted pictures of Petco work and how they leftMy poor dog and the after on my local place!

Today I had a staff help me, I just realized that it always looks like they don't have a lot of staff..her name is Amanda, thank you! The carts available were not working, she assisted with items i was carrying and explained to me the products. At check out she assisted with my petco points. I was grateful because I'm usually lost with some questions i may have.

The checkout staffer was not helpful, on purpose. Said he was taking his time during checkout. I asked about a discount offer that was displayed and he said he didn’t know about it - has been upfront all day. No offer to check just an impasse. You want it or not he said. Also refused to help a coworker. And was all around rude. I will not be returning to this store.

The guy who took care of me could care less. I asked him a question and he ignored me. Very rude. He seemed like he was to relaxed/just did pot. The line was extremely long and was purposely going slow. I would rethink your hiring process. Don't come into work if you can be pleasant

Don’t get your pet groomed here!!! Made us wait 15 mins, to then come out with an attitude. Examined our Golden Retriever and wouldn’t take him because he needed to go to a “professional” for his fur cut. Isn’t this a professional location? Unreal never again. Hiring lazy workers.

On 11/12: The bald guy that works in the fish department is rude and lazy. Me spouse and I walked into the store tonight at 6:50 in hopes to buy a snail. He said "Are you aware the store is closed?". I asked him "Then why did the associates let us in the store without saying anything?" He said "Because they're dumb a$$ idiots". My spouse asked the guy nicely if he could allow use to get a snail but he said no. 2nd time we've gone to this store and have had a negative experience with him. The first time was way before closing hours and wouldn't help at first and "I'm on break".

The Petco located in the Central Park Avenue, Yonkers is the most unprofessional pet shop I’ve been to. The manager Quando was disrespectful and rude as he refused to allow us to buy fish. My plan was to buy a variety of Betta fish to crate my own at home fish display. He approached me in an unprofessional manner and indicated that female and male fish are not allowed to be put together. As I asked why for further clarification he refused to answer and shrugged it off. I grabbed two fish tanks to separate them for that purpose. He approached me again in an aggressive manner and said “you are not walking out of here with those fish. I disregarded him and he continued to say “you need the tank set up first, you are not walking out of here with the fishes” with a frustrated facial expression while pointing at the floor. Not mention he was following me around the store and watching me as he made me feel very uncomfortable.As I approach the counter, Quando was sitting in the front. As the lady was nearly done scanning he said “I can’t let you walk out of here with those fish” I explained that buying fishes are not unlawful and he continued to say “the safety of my animals are my responsibility” I reassured him that we were not going to harm the fish. I was going to separate them which is why I bought two tanks. He was implying he was the manager when he has every right not to sell me the fishes.In this store, the staff members had no name tags or uniform to distinguish if they worked there or not. Or the role they played within the company. There were other customers asking me who works here or if I work there. There were hardly any animals or reptiles. The cages were empty.This overall situation was absurd and unnecessary as he was not only showcasing unprofessionalism by refusing to approach his customers in a friendly and respectful manner. He also did not further clarify his assumptions and claims. This could have all been communicated in a professional and effective manner but he refused to understand me as I repeatedly explained I wanted to create my own at home fish display.

This store sold me fresh pet food that expired December 2 and I purchased it December 15. When I called the manager hung up on my face. When I went in to get my money back the manager she was laughing and waving goodbye to me at the store. Do better.

While I was able to get what I needed and the associate who I made aware of my complaint to was polite; this store was FILTHY. Dried up urine that had never been cleaned everywhere, animal feces that had been stepped in smudged all over the floor and it STANK, more than your average pet store. Now yes animals (especially dogs) have accidents in pet stores because they are overwhelmed by smells; but most places clean up quickly. This store obviously neglected its duty by leaving doggie doody and piss everywhere.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was with my last visit. To start with there was a limited selection of the Blue Buffalo can cat. The line for the cashier was long and took over ten minutes. There was only one cashier who was having trouble with the customer she was helping and several people were trying to help her out. We kept on asking for another cashier, but know one seemed to care. After about to minutes the manager finally announced that the cashers could only accept cash since the credit cards were down system wide and half the customers on line walked off. Finely when it looked like we were going to get another casher the sells associate went to the bathroom instead and then walk off. When I finely got the cashier, I was told they were short on dollar bills and change and would to their best to give us correct change. If I wasn't running and late and very low on cat food, I would have left and gone to Petmart. I am really thinking of never shopping again at Petco. No one seemed to care that everyone was getting frustrated and gave us more attitude then help. I have never seen such bad service.

That store is awful. 1 person at the checkout, the store stunk of weed. People are smoking inside and employees just walk right by them. It’s disorganized and filthy. I’ve been going there for years and after my last 2 trips I will not return to Petco.

Awesome shop, has everything pet related. One thing is that if you need any help from the staff you could easily find them at the counter or near the aquarium.

Xavier took care of my dog and I’m only going back when he’s working. He was friendly but most importantly did an amazing job on my dog. Way better than the other people that work there that only like to do minimum and complain about the dog. 10/10 because of Xavier

Store was messy but the staff was helpful. We got rabies vaccinations and the Dr was thorough and kind. Prices were reasonable, which when you have 5 cats is important.

This Petco is absolutely disgusting. The way they treat the fish is horrible. The workers do not care at all. Honestly it's crazy to me how popular pet stores, such as Petco don't even care about animals!

The staff there is not very helpful. Went for fish food. The employee just point and said " about two row down". Couldn't find so I walked towards her she said same thing. Then very much like I was bothering her she angrily took a minute to actually walk and show me. Will NEVER go to Central Ave location again. JUST RUDE.

I’m a RESCUE girl- all of my pets (past and present), including my Goldfish (won at a carnival by a friend over 7 years ago) are either special needs or rescued. With that said, I would not buy an animal from a store when there are so many in shelters - BUT!!! A huge BUT... I have to THANK the guy at the store who helped save my goldfish! He was flipped over on the bottom of the tank, had fin rot, wouldn’t eat, and couldn’t swim... he literally died.No one was hopeful for my guy (the fish) but I think with all the TLC, prayers and help from the associate at Petco - (and the meds for Fin RoT, Ph balance, salt, etc...) ...he’s flipped right side up and is on the mend!!! (just two days later). (The top left picture is most recent!!!)

Placed an order from the parking lot for curbside pickup. My 2-year-old was sleeping in the car. The website said the item was available. A few minutes later I received a message saying, "Sorry we missed you. We've returned the item to the shelf." I contacted support but they were unable to place a new order for me. I woke my son up and went inside the store. No one ever greets or offers to help at this location. Ever! I am never approached or offered help but see employees everywhere. When I found an item that would suffice, I had to wait in-line to be rung out because, as usual, there was only one cashier working. Another employee was behind the counter, looking around, but only one active cashier. I have to say, I have had ONE positive experience in this store. A year-and-a-half ago. It is my absolute least favorite place to shop.

I have been going there since I got my dog. I needed a nail trimming which I can’t book on line. It claims to be express service. I went the person in the back just talking on phone told me to Waite 15 min. The other groomer was out to lunch. I waited 20 min groomer comes back and says no to nail trimming she said I don’t know why he told u that. So do say that main trim in no appointment necessary they should allow us to book it. When I looked at the app there were avalible spots. Unbelievable attitude. I’m done shopping there pet smart seems the way to go or a local groomer. They don’t care about your buissness.

The people at Petco are great VERY kind & helpful, BUT the technicians who come to vaccinate are DISGUSTING. I approached 2 men and a women only to ask for an opinion. There immediate response was what do you need ?! Is this a medical question because we can’t answer u need an appointment. One man looked at me disgusting and said I can’t I’m leaving the other walked away and I ended up talking to the women. I guess there shift was over. Because they litterly all ran from the store. I would NEVER bring my pet here they are not helpful at all , rude and disgusting. I just wanted an opinion from a “professional” !!!

All of the staff at this location are super helpful and friendly. The district manager Kevin help me pick out the right brand of food from my mini schnauzers. He then introduced me to the GM and head groomer. Had a really good experience at this location.Update-Came back for the second round of booster shots. Been on line for over an hour with over 40 dogs barking. Still haven’t seen vet. There’s over 50 people online. Petco needs to raise their budget and hire another vet to be here. Smh.

I first booked an appointment at petco Mount Kisco and had to wait more than a week so the groomer could call me and tell me she won’t go to work so I booked at petco central avenue Yonkers and the clerks are so rude they are fighting with themselves talking about their issues instead of showing respect to the client , then when he finally payed attention to us I told him my dog gets nervous and he rejected my dog out of nothing saying my dog would hurt him when my dog is small , old and has only 3 teeth . He was really rude and didn’t respect our time AGAIN since we came running for the appointment and had to wait over a week. This is the first time I have received this attitude this people should learn customer service and if they don’t like their jobs they should find something else to do . Would never go back and I don’t recommend this place at all .

This petco location is the best out of all other westchester stores.It’s usually clean, items are stocked up pretty nice, they have a selection of pets, their staff is very friendly and free parking!

My dog was bathed in May 2023. When my dog was given back to me she smelled the same way as when I initially brought her I have a German shepherd and she is very friendly and non aggressive this is the second time I bathe her at this location and I have had the same end result (115 dollars including tip wasted). If you have a large dog don’t bathe them here there are many more petcos that do an adequate service. Wasting my money to not have my dog bathed. I then called petco customer service for 3 months have had the receipt to proof of payment and filed the complaint and no one ever got back to me about a refund or some kind of reimbursement it’s unbelievable.Very disappointed
