I come here for like items I may need and sometimes dog food but that will stop after today! This family dollar clearly have a rat infestation BAD and they need to do something about it FAST, LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF RAT POP IS ON THE SHELVES NEAR THE DOG FOOD , ITS EVERYWHERE ACTUALLY AND ITS FREAKING DISGUSTING. THERE'S A DECENT AMOUNT OF WORKERS IN THE STORE AND THERE'S NO WAY THAT NO ONE (STAFF CUSTOMERS) HAVEN'T NOTICED THIS AS AT... DO BETTER FAMILY DOLLAR

I live very close to this place, and I gotta say it's a decent family dollar. It's got all the needs and wants a desire, it has decent parking and it's a good walking distance. The only problem is that every time I get there, it's very understaffed, and the line gets long quickly. There's always only one person working there. I'm not sure why it's still closed, I hope to open up because I have been craving hostess donuts for the past few days.

This place is not a dollar bargain store.Sure they a few items marked bellow mark value. But they are few and of no really use. The items that are truly useful are marked "get this" even higher than Walmart. This is just another supermarket under the bargain guise.

I have just updated my review from negative to ultra positive.Thanks to Richard the cashier, the gentleman has changed my outlook to this location from negative to positive. The new investment of money to this location has been a great change.This man creates an atmosphere of customer service that others more his senior should learn. He greats you with positive words and checks you out quickly and accurately. This single individual has completely changed my outlook on this location. Thank you for hiring more staff like this young man. AMAZING CHANGES TO THIS LOCATION

I walked in the door today and immediately some guy stepped in my face looking at me. I had earbuds in talking to my friend so I went about my business then went to check out. He asked me at the register if he could check my bag because my bag beeped on the way IN. Now most people would object to having their personal bag with two items I purchased and paid for from another store in it plus I had my receipt. But as I am not a thief and had nothing to hide I showed him . I bought an expensive hair product at rite aid that had an anti theft sticker that they didn't remove.Tell me people. Does it make sense to check someone's bag on their way IN? It couldn't have been any of their merchandise if I came in from outside . I did not have to show anyone the contents of my bag nor will I again. I will call the police immediately. I spend hundreds at this store and I don't feel like going back now.

I used to love this family dollar compared to the others in Yonkers. Besides the rude employees who don’t even greet or acknowledge the customers. Of course there is boxes everywhere blocking the narrow Isles and the stocks barely stocked which doesn’t make any sense considering the amount of boxes. Anyways I was at this location recently and the cashier who didn’t even talk to me scanned items I bought twice so now I’m pretty much stuck with it I’m not going to go back and try to explain I only bought one but I was overcharged. I’ll take my business elsewhere is pretty obvious this company is failing since they can’t even keep their shelves stocked and they don’t even train their careless employees. I know I’m not the only one complaining so I’m pretty sure they’ll close their doors soon permanently anyways

I went to Family Dollar in Yonkers and I was very disappointed. The staff was rude and unhelpful. They refused to fill up my helium balloons, which I needed for my kids birthday party. When I asked for an explanation, the woman behind the counter just sighed and said "no". This is not the kind of customer service I expect from a store like this. The Family Dollar is a publicly-traded company and as such I expect better service. I won't be returning because of the terrible service.

Prices are less expensive on most items than other stores. I buy all my cat food there and it's even cheaper then the supermarket ! Plus they have a parking lot so I don't have to feed a meter !Review Update 6/12/22 : Since I first posted the beginning of this review, this store has not been kept up. Floors are dirty and the shelves are bare and messy. Also, prices on cat food that was always less than other stores are now competitive, if not more expensive. Plus there's only about 5 small shopping carts for the whole store and the parking lot is crumbling away... a few deep holes that could damage your car if you're not paying attention.

I love this Family Dollar compared to all the others I've been too. The only downside, not to just this Family Dollar, but all of the chain stores is that they only have one cashier working at all times and they never have shopping bags. I am a manager in retail and understand how that goes but it's frustrating because they are always crowded. They recently changed their entire staff and they are all very nice as all the staff prior were

Often shelves are not stocked because of lack of employees..that being said often long checkout lines and few cashiers.. District manager is abusive towards employees and customers and store is often cluttered

Yes the store is stocked but the service is horrible. Every time I walk in there's a huge line and only one cashier. Their always on their phone while working or playing music. I feel very uncomfortable when I'm with my child because the music they chose to play has very bad language and is very sexual . It gets my upset every time because it seems like the dance around and sing along to the song more then work and get the line moving. I love the store and its very convenient to me but every time I walk in theres just another reason why I hate the staff unprofessional disrespectful and slow something needs to change about that . !

I like this Family Dollar because it stays open until 10. It's waaaaaaay cleaner than the Family Dollar on South Broadway! Presentation is everything! It doesn't have a smell and it's bigger than the one on South Broadway. Some of the prices differ by 10 to 20 cents with some products. Plus the workers are real cool. UPDATE....... since I last wrote this the store be dirty like the one on South Broadway. I'm sorry family dollar on McLean but this store has fallen off on it's cleanliness. I'm disappointed. But it's still my go to because it's closer but I go in like what happened?! Ughh. I gotta fill out an application because they're hiring right now and clean that store up again.

i would give it 5 stars but every time i go, the automatic open doors does not work .. i am disabled and i go on my mobility scooter and it never works .. i have to wait for a kind stranger to open and hold the door open for me to get in ... the aisles are always cluttered and so i can't even go up and down the aisles .. i have to leave it at the front of aisle and walk slowly down the aisle in order to shop... i think this not handicap accessible and it should be

Good deals, prices are difficult to beat, costumer services it depends who is with you in the cashier, I just leave the store the one in McClain ave. Yonkers, I was Applying my coupons with my phone number and because it took more time the cashier yell to the one with me, hey they move the card? People are always distracted and she did not know was going on, there is always something in the soup.

Not happy with this place. Staff is helpful AS long as it doesn't cause them to have to work. They joke about customers while they are still in the store. The female manager clearly has no idea on how to train a retail staff.I've been to alot of family dollars but this one gives the company a bad name!!!

Favorite place !!! It has everything. Bought a lot of things people would never guess where I got it from . Prices are reasonable. Quality of certain stuff are not that great but you pay for what you get . Always parking ! Normally go around noon so it never really busy.

One of two family dollar stores in the same south yonkers ny neighborhood. It also is the best one as well. Stocked very well despite the covid virus. Alot to choose from including clothes, food, housewares and much much more. Plenty of parking available at this location, situated just seconds away from school 13. It is a one stop shopping experience.

At this location today and purchased a pink and white stalking and santa hat .. Couldn't believe when i got hone home they are selling my first Chriatmas decorations with the year 2017 on them .. I will be going back to say sonething ..

The manager doesn’t even know his prices and after showing him there weekly add online even seeing that the price is wrong in there system he said he can’t give me my money back because prices vary from store but weekly ad says not valid in PA we are in New York !
