I remember the post office from the '90s they were rude, disrespectful, lazy, entitled and off-putting. When the internet and email came out there's a drastic decrease in use of the post office and that's when they started becoming a better post office. For some reason in wurtsboro the post office here never change but became worse. This post office the postmaster is having relations with his workers. If you question them about anything your mail is going to automatically start disappearing or being returned to sender. It feels like the Seinfeld episode where "no soup for you". This is been an ongoing problem for a long time now and the town is not doing anything about it along with the post office itself. If you look at the reviews you can see they don't open up on time they close when they want they might even close in the middle of the day while you're on line. And my biggest pet peeve is that they never ever never answer the phone. But when you get there they're all in the back laughing and you can hear them. Every worker there has an attitude somehow someway. A lot of times they don't even look like they want to be there. This is the worst post office I've ever seen in my life. I would like to know what we can do as a community to change the postmaster and its employees there.

Worst office everPray you never come across ASHELYyou’re lucky if they deliver your mail and if you do get the mail let’s hope it’s yours.Today I went in because the postmaster has refused to deliver my mail so we fixed according to the postmaster jeep height so he can conveniently do it from his personal jeep. Today after two weeks of not getting mail and fixing it I went into the post office to be told by ASHLEY they are withholding my mail and if I keep asking for it she will call the cops on meASHLEY SCREAMED AT ME MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET THE OUT N I WILL NEVER GET MY MAILI DONT THINK ASHLEY SHOULD WORK SERVING THE PUBLIC IF SHES ALWAYS THREATENING PEOPLEI THINK ASHLEY SHOULD BE RETRAIN ON HOW TO WORK WITH THE PUBLICPLEASE RELEASE MY MAIL

This post office is always getting my mail wrong especially on the weekends. The Saturday driver is so incompetent constantly delivering my packages to the wrong address on Shawanga Lodge Road. Like how do you not take 5 seconds to glance at package or mail and confirm the mail box you’re delivering to? Don’t you have to take a test to be a qualified usps worker? They need better training because I’m sick and tired of my packages going to my my neighbor. Which my horrible neighbor across the street does not return my mail or packages which is a crime for keeping mail that so NOT theirs. I complain and they do nothing to correct the issues.

Waited almost 45 minutes in their lobby this morning to pay for a money order. After all that time a woman sticks her head out and tells me and several other customers that they are short staffed and won’t be opening today! To add to the frustration, I had to take a cab just to get there, so I wasted time and money on that for no reason!Edit 11/22/22:Like always, their customer service is TRASH. They don’t close until 5:00 but they refuse to answer the phone. My grandmother’s medication is just sitting there! For whatever reason, my address has always been mixed up between Wurtsboro and Summitville, but if you search the address on google or any other map website/application, it corrects it to the right address. They’re just lazy and don’t take the time to figure it out. Definitely the worst rude and lazy employees.Another update 1 hour later:I had someone stop in to try to pick up the package and they were there. So they were just ignoring the phone for a good half hour or so.

Worse post office. Lost mail, mail delivered to wrong address almost daily. I spend more time looking for my mail and redelivering someone else's mail because no one looks at addresses. Packages seem to disappear only to show up months later.

Unreal- yNija is the second package returned t sender as addressee unknown at this address!WhatDo I have to dO to be known- jump in front of the usps truck and introduce myself? I don’t care if the package has Hitlers name in it- if it has my address drop it at my door!!They made me get a piece box and spend that money- so the post office knows who I am and where I live. Same day, yesterday, I got a ups delivery and TWO Amazon deliveries.You would think the UNITED STATES POST OFFICE would be just as smart as ups, Fed Ex, and a bevy of contract Amazon drivers!I want my money back for shipping and missing items! Shame

Our post office continuously incorrectly delivers packages, loses them and also just is right lazy to bring them to our door. Any package bigger then about a bed pillow or over 25 pounds is left for us to pick up. I know the job description says lifting up to 70 pounds and being our mail lady is a very old women, I don’t think she is fit physically fit this position. Nothing against her it’s what’s required in the job.

I moved into the area about a year ago snd the mail lady I have I hate to say is terrible. I have complained to the post office and nothing has changed. She puts other people’s mail in my box. She refuses to get out of her car. She returns boxes if they do not fit into your mail box. I have asked for the post office to retrain her or hire a new carrier but they still have done nothing to fix the problem and I have spoken to my neighbors and I am not the only one having this problem.

My first review was 2 years ago. They continue to behave as though their job is an inconvenience to them. My key will not open the box I am forced to have. It was 8am, and I called for help to the back. Was told they do not open until 8:30.Door opened at 8:36.Anthony, a rude and ignorant clerk finally came to the window. After a ridiculous recounting, several times, of my issue, I said it was their fault. He then started speaking in a very sing song, obnoxious tone, to get me to fight him and be thrown out.After his boss came, she said she would monitor him, and he was as slow and obnoxious as ever, but dropped his smarmy tones. This post office is inept, poorly run, and shoul be shut down.Even though I pay the same taxes as my neighbors, they will not deliver mail to my street. Due to having a street address as well as a post office box, I am missing 2 credit cards and a lot of mail is missing or delivered to the person who owned my house before me, in their mailbox. (even though I told all who send me mail exactly the way I was told to list my address) I explained this to them, and the told me to change my address with all vendors ----AFTER I had used the exact address the told me to us. Also missing a package that was supposedly "delivered" -- whats going on?

If I could possibly give NO stars I would. I have also been a victim of the "Package was delivered" screw up more than once. In the past the staff were willing to look for it at the actual post office and always found it right there on the shelf. This time however I called before making the trip and got the awful post master. He would not bother to look at all and was extremely condescending. All he wanted was the tracking number. Obviously, that is the same information I already have! $70 down the drain! I will be making a formal complaint.

Yesterday will be the 3rd package that shows delivered to my mailbox that did not arrive. It seems very fishy that every time I have something delivered to my mailbox it mysteriously doesn't arrive. Shows delivered, but isn't in my hands. The first incident which the Wurtsboro Post Office was notified and DID NOTHING ABOUT was in November 2016 now my 13 year old daughter ordered stuff that she paid for with her own money and it shows delivered, but did not arrive! Some thing is very fishy, because ever since the old delivery person left this keeps happening. What would you think?

They stopped delivering to my house because of a mailbox was to low (even tho it was fixed for 2 weeks) and they had to audacity to not let me know and they returned all my park without my authorization

Very upset. The Wurtsboro post office location is never open on time. They are scheduled to open at 8:30 weekday mornings and that is never the case. You walk into the lobby to a line of people waiting for the staff to open the gate that never opens. All customers state this is every day and that they are constantly late to work due to this. I am now one of those customers as well. I find it inappropriate that they cannot open on time especially when you can hear more than enough staff just talking behind the wall. There are plenty of people there to assist if they would only open their gate.This is beyond frustrating and needs to be addressed.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I live in the Hills and this is the 4th time (I've only lived here since November) that I've been told my package is out for delivery and they tried to deliver but couldn't. It says was tried to deliver at 11:40am and I was outside training my dogs with my husband from 10am-1. I'm absolutely furious as this was my daughter's birthday present and all she had to look forward to as we are on lockdown from covid pandemic. I lived in Middletown my whole life and never experienced any of this nonsense. I'm going to the highest of supervisors about this package, they chose the wrong one today!

Extensive extensive delays in both my mail delivery and at the post office... I don’t understand why it’s so bad, I know it’s the holidays but definitely need more people working in the post office during this time. I came here week before Christmas and the line was out the door... This is Wurtsboro... how the heck can there be a line out the door -_- I’m pretty sure the entire village was here.. I didn’t wait, I left. Was pretty upset. Understand it’s the holidays so that’s why I’m giving 3 stars. Please bring more seasonal workers during the holidays. Thanks.

Constantly rerouting my packages with no explanation, mail person won't deliver the packages to my door because it's less than ten feet from my box. she just leaves the missed you notice for DAYS even though people are obviously home. She also broke the flag off of my mailbox from shoving something far too big into it.

They couldn't deliver my package because a car was parked near my mailbox due to the Wurtsboro street fair. They could have gotten out of the truck or even drove up my driveway as they have in the past. As others have said, they're lazy.

Needs to re-org and implement better delivery strategies. Drivers are lazy and inaccurate with their drop offs. Statistically speaking, may just be the worst post office I have ever had the privilege of being designated.

Another package lost. My package had my P.O. Box on it and was picked up yesterday, wasn’t by me or anyone affiliated with my P.O. Box. This place really needs to step up because this has happened more than once and to multiple people. Oh don’t bother trying to call them, you won’t speak to a physical human being and you’ll get no where with it.

They magically make packages disappear after allegedly being delivered to your postal box. Obviously stolen by employees. Only personal packages not ones sent by businesses. The thieves employed there need to be fired.

Was also told after they tracked a package for me (email wouldnt update for me so I asked them to track it) that it would be sent to my home not my physical address and there it sits at the post office.

As a small business owner who ships A LOT of packages quite often, I have walked into the wurtsboro post office several times within a hour of them closing with A LOT of packages. They have never been anything but happy to help me.
