Strolled into Woodstock Meats for the first time yesterday on our way out of town after spending the night. Just looking for a couple of chicken breasts for dinner. The store was immaculate and well stocked. Vegetables, sauces, cured meats, cheeses, local beers… Such a great store, we didn’t want to leave with just the chicken. So… we opted for the (very pricey) local lamb rib chops. The young man behind the counter (wish we got his name) provided a passionately detailed (but simple) way to cook them. We left with four chops to treat ourselves and our empty nest for Easter . Well, it’s 24 hours later, we followed the given directions, prepared our lamb chops… and Wow…They were fabulous!! Worth EVERY penny. Restaurant quality. We are hooked. Probably gonna get them every time we visit Woodstock. Looking forward to returning. Thanks!

We asked for their two best sandwiches, and they were unreal!!! (chicken cutlet w avocado) The service was amazing, we asked advice on how to cook some steaks and he described in detail, with joy. They ran out of jerky but said they would have more the next day. We came back the next day to get jerky and herb salt (the best i’ve ever had) and we are so pleased :) Thank you !!!

DO NOT GO THERE FOR LUNCH!!! I just had the worst roastbeef sandwich I have ever been served! Roll was hard,beef cut to thick,no mayo. $14.00. I have given this place way to many chances in the past continues to disappoint. Woodstock needs a better deli

This place is both a top notch butcher and a fantastic deli. Could you ask for more? No. You couldn't. Their house roasted deli meats (roast beef, roast pork, etc) are DELICIOUS. They also have a great selection of beer to go with your sandwich.

I have loved this store for 40+ years. The current owners are committed to quality,local meats, just as you would expect. The roast beef is my favorite in the deli section, just as it was when I grew up here. The shelves are stocked with just about everything you could need for a quick,convenient grocery stop. So grateful that sometimes great things stay the same.

The folks here are super helpful. The meat is solid including some fun cuts that you don’t see all the time, like flankenrib. But while it may seem basic, the standout star here is the ground beef. Whatever grind and blend they are using makes the single best burger I have ever had.

To The lady and man that made our sandwiches......mmmmuuuuaahhh ! The sandwiches are ALWAYS absolutely AMAZING!but tonight I went in at around 5 and ordered 7 sandwiches and they made them so quick it was unreal !and once again every one was perfect thank you for making my night!! Oh well also got fruit and fruit salad which was super fresh and very tasty !thank you ❤️ 😊 💓

I can recall very few times where I've bought raw meat from behind the counter that didn't smell off. I was hoping the situation would change with the new ownership a few years ago, but it hasn't. The vegetables, bread, ordered sandwiches, and most behind the counter pre-made food is of okay quality (although I don't like most of the flavor profiles from them,) and they have a decent selection of groceries, veggies, and beer for a small location. The quality of the meat is definitely worrisome considering that's the "draw" of the business.

Great place!! They are very knowledgeable about the meats they have. Their sandwiches are absolutely AMAZING, and their meat portions are very generous for the price. Delicious food, hefty portions, and cheap prices makes this the perfect New York deli. Will definitely be back!

Grass fed house made roast beef stacked high sandwich, this butter cutting incredible meat sandwich for 6.50 is unheard of. This shop as a result might be serving the best sandwich in the country on a value/quality matrix. That’s what I love ❤️

I go here all the time for a great selection of meats as well as a fantastic deli where they make all sorts of sides and their own roast beef for sandwiches. They always have delicious specials and everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful.

got lunch to go - nice store very expensive - our sandwiches were good but my chicken was just put on the bread as a whole piece - should have been thin sliced to make it edible without falling out, tomatoes werent ripe, kind of sloppy - also could use better bread Bread Alone maybe???

I shop here pretty much whenever I am in town. They have great sandwiches (call ahead if you're grabbing lots of them during peak times), a full service butcher counter and pretty much anything you could imagine needing. They also stock local eggs and produce (in season). Plus, they're friendly!

Great service and produce, we were in Woodstock for 4 nights, we discovered the butchers on the Taste of Woodstock trail, they were cooking sliders and cheese steak rolls, which were top draw!So on our last night we decide to have a bbq, so went here for our meat and fish, being from the UK we had not realised they dont sell pre made burgers, but they did for us and the lad behind the counter offered to make 1/3 pounders when I asked for 1/4 pounders, a wise suggestion, thank you! Plus the ny strip (sirloin to us Brits) was amazing.The food cooked perfectly on bbq, big thanks.PS we also picked up a Cubano sandwich, wow, yeah thats worth revisiting for!

10 people behind counter couldn't get 2 sandwiches correct. Waited 15 minutes to find sandwiches were waiting at cash register. It took 4 people to make these 2 sandwiches & made with mayo when mustard was asked for. Maybe if there was a little less screaming across the counters they could have gotten the mustard correct.

Kevin, Vince and crew know how to run an expert butcher shop.Behind that counter they will wield their knives to debone, scale and take of heads of fish,truss up a standing rib roast, trim down the fat.,etc,, whatever you want, they can do.,They also get local produce from a number of sources. The organic garlic, best tomatoes in season, honey crisp apples., fresh eggs,, not to mention a 1st class fresh fish counter..Be there a few times and they know you by name. Kevin feeds the homeless, runs a little league baseball program, supports the community in many other subtle, unheralded ways I am sure.Shopping here is all about quaility food and good people!

I went here for the first time and I had a bad experience. Immediately I witnessed two other customers have problems with some of the staff and their orders. I’d still go back but some of the employees gave me anxiety. Seems like a stressful environment.
