The selection available in this small town hardware store is ridiculous. Even though we are visiting all the way from the UK we bought a big pile of stuff (including a stack of cast iron) because the quality was good and they had things we've been looking for for a while. Prices are also very reasonable.

Housts is making a terrific effort to reduce single use plastic in spite of manufacturer overload. They even have a water filling station where you can refill your reusable water bottle.And they do offer some soap products for refill as well! Thank you Housts!

Mom & baby friendly store! I arrived with my stroller, the man at the front promptly offered help. He gave concise directions for where to find what I needed, and the easiest way to get there with my stroller. Thank you for being accessible to everyone.Also I found exactly what I needed for a good price.

Just a typical day at Houst. I walked in with a bolt, needed a longer one with the same thread, and they helped me find it in 2 minutes. That's the way it is there, and has been for the many years I have been going there. Plus, of course, they have all the usual hardware/yard/home repair stuff for simpler needs!!

This past Saturday we took on a major painting job that required scaffolding in the dining room. We rented what we needed from H. Houst & Son and it was delivered when promised. But, when we started to put the thing together we quickly realized we were in over our heads. We called for help and Houst sent help! No extra charge.Thanks for saving the day!!Our dining room looks fantastic!Been going to Houst for years and I'm not stopping now!

Very friendly.Edit: I just experienced some very unprofessional behavior from the real estate division of this company.I first want to stress that the hardware staff and indeed the person in question have all been polite to me.However, I was looking for a place to live and one of the managers offered me an apartment that was going to be available. Time passed and I spoke to him several times and each time he assured me that it was going to be mine, but there were problems that needed to be fixed before it could be rented.Another person, who was not informed of our agreement rented the place. I get that miscommunications happen, and I would have been upset, but understood. The problem is that I was not informed. Weeks passed while I waited to hear about the place, and I finally called to ask what the deal was, when I was told "Oops, we rented it."Again, if I had been informed of the mistake, I would not be writing this, but I wasn't.

Houst is my favorite hardware store in the area. However, since they took away half of their parking spaces, there is nowhere to park just to run in for a couple of items. After circling around Woodstock three to five times looking for parking, are usually give up and go elsewhere.

I have been shopping here for over twenty years. It's an old fashioned store with old fashioned service. I feel at ease asking questions and someone is always at the ready to assist me. They even put heavy items in my car! Who does that nowadays? Houst does!

Lots of inventory, but service is lacking and it's not terribly easy to find what you're looking for. Some good deals to be had, particularly from their sale circular, but we found the prices on paint to be a lot higher than Home Depot.

Great customer service. I called and asked for help with indoor and outdoor fly bait that is pet safe and the staff recommended a few items. They have curbside pickup!
