I have been using this pharmacy for many years. Recently, there has been a positive change in how the pharmacy is managed. I am receiving my vital medication in a more timely fashion-- although it is not nearly the half hour they advertise.

The worst thing about the pharmacy is answering the phone. There has not been one time that I can just call and someone will pick up. There are always callers ahead of you, and you have to wait an hour for someone to finally answer the call. They don't even apologize for the long hold. This location is closed on weekends, and it closes at 7 p.m. during the week. So after work, I am not able to pick up my medications on time. So I always have to request a delivery. Either same-day or two-day FedEx delivery. But I always have to call because days go by and my medication is still not delivered. This is the worst pharmacy ever.

I am glad the pharmacy staff here has bad reviews cuz they really are horrible staff. They don't train new ppl properly and they seem to hate their patients!!!!! They sent me to another pharmacy but, its all for the better. The small mom& pop should get more business! The whole store thinks everyone steals here. I think the pharmacy may have vendettas against some patients they dislike! I still go there cuz I have no choice now that Rite Aid closed down! I hope for a CVS to open here at Jamaica ave because I need a new store where I can buy my vitamins, basic necessities & junk food from! Sorry to the decent staff members but, the previous ppl that are still there! They suck!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The pharmacy is horrible. They never have anything in stock or ready when you go. When you do go, you're waiting for hours or on hold on the phone for hours. Everyone is slow here. Really miss rite aid on Jamaica.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. To call and request a refill you have to wait an hour on hold if you are even lucky that they even answer the phone. They give you a date to pick up your meds and when you show up medications aren’t ready . The staff in Duane read are lazy .

Angela from the pharmacy department was very rude and not empathetic towards filling my emergency rescue inhaler. She said she refuses to fill my prescription today because she has other prescriptions to fill ahead of me even after i told her i have asthma and need this medication urgently. As a pharmacist myself and anyone working in the healthcare industry should have compassion and be empathetic for patients like they are your own family. So far the experience here has been awful and it's very obvious that she hates her -15$ job.

My Dr sent my prescription since yesterday morning and up to now I didn't get my medications and I'm really sick. I am calling the pharmacy since yesterday and can't get through to no one. I'm on hold since 9am today and no one answer my call as yet.

The worker's in this store follow you like if your a theif very unprofessional the manager and worker's in this store. They do not carry themselves in a professional manner Duane Reade needs to reevaluate the people they have working....👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 PS the words out of the Managers mouth was that the Puerto Ricans are thieves are these the type of people you hire. Headquarters or corporate needs to have these people fired...... this is so wrong cuz if it was a white man walking in they will not follow him this is not about racism either.if it was the other way around and they followed her or them they will feel the same way I felt embarrassed I have never felt so embarrassed in my life, if it was the other way around she would have said your following me cause I'm black it is so wrong what they did to me today.

They refuse to honor ad prices and online prices. Two female cashiers said their manager told them if it doesn't ring up at the sale price they can't adjust or override. What a bunch of lies, I never heard this before working in sales for 20 years. Please hire people who are not lazy or don't want to work. I will never return and rather spend my money at Health Max with better customer service.Update: There is a tall African American male employee, who has great customer service who goes above and beyond all the time.

FedEx service here is horrible. The lazy associate with glasses who works evenings and her lazy manager who doesn't have the courage or decency to come out of the office stated "it's too heavy." They sure can fit in a minute to gossip over their mics though. If you need reliable FedEx dropoff don't go to these people.

Worst Walgreens / Duane Reade ever. I was amazed when I went to a different one and will never go back to this one. The staff always says they’ll have things ready in an hour and you show up the next day and they’re not ready yet. The pharmacist told me my prescription was on backorder and she would call me back when it became available again, another Walgreens ordered it and got it the next day. I presented a coupon once and she was so exasperated. Now yesterday (Friday) we ordered a prescription only to find that they will be closed all weekend and Monday (you might have warned us?). The attitude in here is horrible, and the pharmacist is always grumpy. Never again, it’s nearby my house I will go out of my way to avoid.

This Duane Reade is not good. One time there was an experience that I was not fond of, me and my cousin were shopping for candy and we saw a guy wearing all black and a ski mask and he was stealing makeup and other items. This was in October of 2020 and I feel that they should have more security in this particular store. When we left we saw the guy running to the train, so he got away and there was nothing on the news so I think they deleted the footage.

Update: Just recently I went to get a gift card as a wedding present. Was told I could only use cash or debit. This has been an issue before. I contacted corporate and they sent me back an unrelated customer service email.***Great customer service in the store. It had been very poor years before with really rude and disrespectful employees but they are now super friendly. I really do not like the pharmacy and most of the staff that work there. I always feel like I’m bothering them. They are curt and seem too important to assist you.

The worse pharmacy I've ever been to. The employees are rude and don't move with a sense of urgency. The Secuirty guard ( African American Male with little dreads ) thinks he's a manger and needs to focus on the job he was hired to do. This is the 2nd time I had an encounter with him. They will never get my serivce again. Please don't go back if you're looking for premium serivce.

This is a great store! Everything it should be. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is clean and organized. The wait in line rarely long. The prices are reasonable and they have a wide variety of stock.The pharmacy is my favorite part. The people there are friendly, helpful and can answer questions about prescriptions and over the counter drugs easily and knowledgeably. I don't have health insurance and their prescription discount savings program is a life saver for me. I wouldn't be able to afford my required medications anywhere else!The photo center is also great! I can order online at a great price and get great, quality prints in the store!Overall a great store!

DO NOT GET YOUR VACCINE HERE! RUN. I have never encountered a more harsh injection in my life. She was not gentle at all. The pharmacy manager Angelina (Angela) provided the vaccine. No introductions ( I had to ask another person to get her name to write this review), no observation after the shot was given, and no common courtesy to even explain the side effects, etc. Angelina had no care in the world. She immediately shot the vaccine in my arm and then said, wait 10 mins. No observation, I wonder if I fell or got dizzy what would have happened?!! She went and locked up for lunch and left. So did the other employees. She was in such a rush, and I have never seen unprofessional behavior like this from a pharmacy. I was terrified of this vaccine, and she made my experience so horrible. Go somewhere else. She has no respect for the people who go here. I have no idea how she is a manager. Please hire someone else for this role who actually cares.

I have found the pharmacists Anya and Angela as well as both of their assistants are excellent and do as much as they can for patients despite the pressures they’re under. The prior pharmacists Tony and Alex were also great but have moved on to other stores which is the second most annoying factor with the store consistent rotating of staff to other stores. The other factor is changing drug manufacturers for some reason (I-guess for cheaper prices) which is confusing because of the same medications taking different shapes,colors and forms. The staff again is excellent. The store is clean and aisles are clear and well run.

The customer service at this store is terrible. The lines are long, and the workers are rude. Everything is also very overpriced. I can usually find all the items online for cheaper. Amazon, Target, and Walmart usually sell the same items for cheaper prices. Even when this Duane Reade has discounts, the discounted price is the same as the normal price at the three aforementioned retailers. Save your money. Do yourself a favor and just buy your items elsewhere.

Since Dec 24th thru Dec 31st 2021 tried to get my refill. I made 4 visits & each timeI came in this is what I was told. 1st-Pharmacist didnt come in.2nd -computers are down 3rd- No pharmacy is not open today.4th-closed again,no one knows why.told to go to myrtle ave store & have dr call it in,unble to transfer it from jamaica ave.I ask Billy C. an employee why pharmacy is closed? He says I dont know anything (laughing )as he runs to the door behind the counter. Am I speaking to a child? I think it's good the impaired & challenged have jobs, perhaps behind the scene is a better choice not with customers. It's unfortunate.... employees are clueless & poor communication is displayed .I feel sorry for those who are unable to walk, & need to return for an Rx. Could post a sign on the entrance door if pharmacy is closed.Is that too hard to do? It doesnt take much.....ask Billy....I'm sure he has crayons.

DO NOT SEND YOUR PHOTOS HERE ! YOU ARE WARNED! send your pictures literally anywhere else! I like to print lots of pictures for projects and gifts. Every-time I pick up my photos there is an issue but i continue to send it because it is my local duane reade. First problem is they don't print them until your there, i can send pictures and never get a text that its ready because they don't print it. My first major issue was for my anniversary i chose to print on a wood canvas that was offered on the app. Before a mini vacation i went to pick it up and the RUDE WOMAN! who is always behind the photo booth told me they don't have the material for this and it was never printed !! she told me to send it somewhere else when i told her that wasn't an option! i should've been contacted but never was so that gift was ruined ! a few days ago i sent ONE PICTURE! just one picture, never got a text, its been 3 days and i went to pick it up. Same disrespectful woman was behind the desk. She told me i wasn't on the correct line when i told her im here for picking up a picture, she then picked up the phone infront of me and completely ignored me! Very uncalled for! as i walked away from her obviously upset she got off the phone and called me back to the booth! i Said "no thank you, i will wait for her" so i walked over to the nice girl at the main register. She helped me just fine, no issues but of-course the picture want printed. Im patient and waited for her because she was nice which is all i care for. She printed it and gave it to me no problem but save your time and carry your serviced out else where! wish i would've got that woman's name but i was too upset to even ask! Just treat people with respect! I will now drive alittle out my way to have a quicker and easier pickup for my photo needs

It is wise to patronize the same pharmacy, become acquainted with the pharmacist and staff. For many reasons. As for the rest of this store, goods are obscenely overpriced except for a constant: the Clearance Sale table which is constantly relocated so one need ask where it is or search for it. The beverage cases are all so overpriced as to seem criminal. Go see for yourself. The staff is very helpful; seek out them should you need assistance.

Worse customer service employees hold line in order for them to make their personal shopping. Dropped prescription and they told me that it will be ready in 30 minutes came back 40 minutes later and they told me that it wasn't ready that I had to wait another 10 minutes..

Terrible customer service. The manager did not allow me to return some bottles of rubbing alcohol that I had bought a few days prior and was completely sealed. They didn’t even explain why they wouldn’t do it.
