The Rome, New York location...on Black River Boulevard across from the Postal Office, is just plain gaudy. Disgusting. Infectious. The windows are constantly dirty (only cleaned a couple times per year), The floors have never been scrubbed, waxed or replaced. The shelves are consistently dusty as our the products on display.Not to mention that a surreal amount of undesirables tend to frequent the location. You just feel like bathing in hand sanitizer, after being inside a Dollar General.Lastly...the cashiers are always requesting your change be used towards some charity. Why? Most that shop at a Dollar General, cannot afford to give away their change. Arrogance into the abyss.I do not think it would cost...or be much trouble, to have ALL employees work after store hours, to actually clean & "Spruce-up," your locations. Cleaning the windows, register areas, and scrubbing & waxing the floors, would bring more desirable customers into your locations. Increasing your profit. And profit...is what having a business, is about.

Dirtiest Dg I’ve ever been in. As someone else said you literally feel like you want to bathe in hand sanitizer after being in here. I promise you this place has not been cleaned ONCE. This was dirtier than any gas station I’ve ever been in.

Honestly if it was for a couple of the employees this place would be 0 stars . It looks ran down , there are random drug addicts and drunks just standing around inside and outside and the place is messy and managed horribly

Rolltainers blocking multiple isle's, too many holes on shelves. Only one register being used, self checkout not working. This store is worse than it was before it was refitted

One cashier or none. Long lines. 1 cashier while 5 or 6 other workers worrying about stock. It was great before. Now after remodel, it's not. One cashier always has her boyfriend there. Not professional IMHO.

I'm tired of waiting in line for 20 minutes or more they'res only 1 person on register at night they tell me theyres only 2 people on night shift ,people get out if work at 4 and want to stop and get things you can't because you have to wait in line too long,so now I go to family dollar ,always to registers open dollar general need more help and maybe a better store manager because she's hardly ever there

Dirty floors. Long lines with only 1 register open. There are a total of 4 registers available. Some stock out during business hours. Stock before or after hours. Clean floors and shelves. Just good business sense.

Great Values, Great Savings here at DG! They have things we need in a hurry or last minute. Food is always great and we can find great presents for the family and friends even if on short notice for a party! If we run out of milk, we can get it at DG!

There was a wide variety of things, and a good clearance. It was just hard to get through the aisles. It was truck day though and they seemed to be short staffed. I like this store.

Wow! Anyone saying this is a small dollar General is not familiar with dollar generals, this place is one of the largest amd most extensive dollar General. They have full departments including; clothes, food, frozen food, cleaning supplies, and hope goods. Their staff can be chatty but they are also very friendly and upbeat. Would reccomend to anyone.

Very small store and hard to navigate at times but they have a good selection of various products and great prices. Checking out was a hastle because they have long lines but one register open. But overall it was an OK trip.

This Dollar Store is awesome. Shelves are always well stocked and employees work together to get people out of there when lines start forming.

It serves its job perfectly, if you need discounted basics then you should go here, but its a bit difficult to navigate and might be out of stock on something's on a regular basis.

Has most of what you need and want. Fair prices, coupon friendly and great sales. However service is slow. Takes forever at the check out line. Long lines and under staffed.

The shelves are completly empty. I asked if the store was closing and the rude cashier said no. So if it's not closing then why are ALL the shelves empty?

Perfect for a quick stop to grab some groceries instead of heading all the way to Wal-Mart! The staff is friendly and the store has most of the things I need!

Just wish the staff would quit calling me honey it's so condescending we should keep it professional we're not down South Korea have to put up with that but I guess here you do you only store up north usually takes one to start it but I wish it would stop sexier right out of your visit after you have a pleasant trip
