Overall really enjoyed our stay here.Booked this weekend trip to be able to take our pup with us and they are dog friendly.Had a very nice time, restaurant had good food and cocktails, enjoyed the fire pits and saunas.Room was clean and a nice size with a balcony.Staff was friendly and we felt there was a good Amount of things to do to keep busy and enjoy ourselves. We booked the “ready set summer” package which was spiked lemonade upon arrival, s’mores kit and coffee in the morning. Everyone was able to get the Lemonade and coffee and it did not seem to be an exclusive packaged. the s’mores package was rather minimal with two marshmallows, two graham crackers and a chocolate bar, which is fine but less desirable.Dogs are allowed everywhere except the restaurant, but some of the activities we booked were in the restaurant, like the cocktail making class, so the pup wasn’t able to join which is Alittle annoying if it’s a dog friendly resort and just something to consider when planning.

I can't imagine a great reason to recommend a stay at this hotel. The staff is all doing their best, and perfectly nice, but there's only so much they can do.The rooms are large in size, but have a bizarre layout. The TVs have no cable and no app-based way of watching. You can cast your device to the TV, but there are no outlets near the bed so it's a bit of risky move since you might drain your battery trying to control what's on the TV. The AC/Heat is incredibly noisy and the bathroom is incredibly small and not very well equipped. All of these things can be overlooked though depending on the price and the rest of the experience. Other reviewers have commented on how exorbitantly expensive it is for what you get, so not going to retread that too much. The restaurant is not great from a quality perspective and is also very expensive. The pool is "heated year round" but it really isn't a very swimmable temp. The "saunas" are makeshift ones that are cute, but are also ~3-5 minute walk from your room, potentially across a somewhat busy road. The recreation room (in the basement with very bright lights, a carpeted floor, and two out of order bathrooms) does have things to do but closes around 9PM. This leaves you with basically nothing to do since there's nothing else in the area, and nowhere to go unless you're comfortable being in the lobby area.

The hospitality at this place is over the top! I am used to great service but here they go beyond to ensure that you are happy. Michaela and Hayley at the reception were warm ,welcoming and ready to please. The entire staff really make you feel like you belong. Very friendly. Anything you need just ask. I've never been to a place where everybody, I mean everybody, would go out of there way to ensure you are having a great stay. Great location with fun activities like electric bikes and private saunas. Wonderful selection of food and drinks. I can't wait to return with my family. Highly recommend staying here.

I had the privilege of photographing a wedding at the Wylder Hotel Windham in New York and it is such a beautiful location to have a wedding! It's a photographer's dream in the sense that there's so many indoor locations with nice, natural light and beautiful views outside, as well. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

This was such an absolutely perfect weekend getaway for our family that includes a toddler and a dog, and finding a place that’s great for all of us isn’t easy by Wylder was amazing. We stayed in the main inn and the room was lovely. If we didn’t have the “kids” we would have loved to stay in one of the very cool rooms in one of the other buildings, but the main inn was great for us as we could go right downstairs for delicious meals. The Friday night s’mores event was an absolute blast and honestly it felt a little like going to summer camp! The staff were also so lovely and accommodating. We didn’t realize there wasn’t a fridge in the room (needed one for milk) and they managed to get one for us. Anything we needed they really did their best! Windham is definitely a very small town but we managed to find enough to do. Only thing that would make it better would be a babysitting service! Oh and more outlets- I’d suggest bringing an extra long phone charger! But that was it, everything else was amazing!

Went on a little getaway, not expecting much . The rooms are super clean and beds are comfy . The pool is very clean too , but most importantly the staff is very ,very nice. We didn't' have a problem using the saunas and the food at the hotel restaurant was delicious too. We played pool , table tennis and retro arcade games in the rec room . My kids absolutely loved it . The biking path is kid friendly & they loved reading the silly goose story on the path :)The view of the mountain was so calming . I highly recommend.

My family and I had a fantastic experience at Wylder Windham Resort in New York during the July 4th weekend. We stayed for four days and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The recently renovated room was both comfortable and inviting, with a spacious balcony that provided stunning views of the mountains and the pool. Staying at the main lodge allowed us easy access to the front desk and restaurant. The resort offered a wide range of activities for my son to enjoy, including an exciting arcade room. Set amidst a breathtaking landscape of trees and mountains, the resort provided a serene ambiance that allowed my son to relax in the outdoor hammock while immersing himself in the soothing sounds of nature. Additionally, we loved spending evenings by the fire pit, creating unforgettable memories. Wylder Windham Resort was the perfect escape from our hectic city lives, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to others seeking a rejuvenating getaway.

I never write reviews being in the hospitality business. One of the worst experiences I ever had. Our Room was so filthy and roaches in the bathroom. No one answers us on tablet or front desk We constantly had to go to the front desk and ask for towels and toilet paper. They had a huge convention going on for the weekend which they took over the whole area couldn’t do anything plus they had Partys with blasting music till 2am. I contacted the general manager and explained our terrible experience which they took for ever to get back and they did nothing about it. Don’t ever go here

My fiance and I visited Wylder a few weeks back. We absolutely loved it. The rooms are absolutely stunning, and the amenities are so much fun. We enjoyed the opportunity to disconnect and enjoy time together. A 20-minute drive to Kaaterskill Falls, which was an amazing hike. Babblers food was delicious but there are also a few other local options. I LOVED that there was a cafe and bakery right on the property.

If you are looking at this hotel and expecting anything better than a revamped motel with marketing fluff, walk away.We booked our stay for Thanksgiving and were disappointed to stay the least, and left the hotel early. They claim to be an “adventure-based” hotel but there’s not much adventure to be had in the off-season… The heated pool is lukewarm, there was only one sauna that was slightly larger than a wine barrel (not to mention - next to a parking lot), the “rec-room” and the restaurant/bar closes at 10pm and the outdoor campfire as well.On top of this, even while the whole hotel was 70% empty we were given a room overlooking the main road. The bathroom sink was outside the bathroom, there were no plugs near the bed and no kettle/water heater in the room. These may just be smaller details you might expect from a 3-star hotel but makes me wonder how on Earth did this one win all those awards? The most disappointing part was the hotel management. While the onsite staff was friendly and helpful, the management decided “we didn’t have enough problems with our room” and didn’t qualify for a refund for the one night we chose to leave, while they refunded the rest of our group who stayed at a different room and had issues with room cleaning and electricity(!).I hope the hotel management can improve their understanding of customer service & satisfaction and don’t just throw “free stays” at disappointed customers in the future.

Nice relaxing visit for a few nights. Pool and grounds were beautiful. Staff was helpful. Common areas were spotless. I wish the restaurant was open more evenings - it was closed on Monday so we didn't have a chance to try it. Coffee shop was good, but prices were very high - $ 38 for two breakfast sandwiches, a pastry and two coffees!Rooms: Our room was large and had a beautiful deck overlooking a gold course. One odd thing - the TV seemed to be 30 feet from the bed which made it unusually small and difficult to see. Please install a larger TV in the larger rooms :)

Loved it. The rooms were fantastic... lots of space, rustic wood floors, nice beds, but the resort also offers some advanced technologies very subtly (tablets, ductless HVAC units, casting enabled TV's). The staff was great, Ariana was helpful when we booked and all the way through checkout. Everything within reach, beautiful area, can't wait to go back.

Pros:Location, friendliness of staff and beds. Beds were very comfortable, and the location at the edge of town is nice for town and mountain access. The activities they offer are also quite nice.Cons:Price, the cost of a room per night is absolutely redicilous, especially considering what you get with the room. The TVs dont have cable, which is frustrating for rainy days and background noise. They're set up for screen share with your phone off their wifi. Room amenities are semi decent at best with towels, etc. Soaps were decent. No extra blankets. Balconies were covered with cobwebs. The rooms dont have refrigerators or coffee pots, which for the cost is unplesent. The morning yoga class for our day took place in the lobby of our building, which echoed into our room on the first floor. The cafe across the street prices are insane, foods solid but for the cost its nuts. Its Windham not vail, not park city, Windham.

we loved the location, the scenery, the hammocks, the sauna, the Delicious perfectly climate Pool! The Bikes!! Great service and the simplicity of the atmosphere and staff, I had to take a star off for the noisy route 23, very busy with trucks and Harley's etc. Even late at night, was trying to enjoy the relaxing sounds of the river but the road was overpowering, and the route 296 in the middle of the resort was an annoyance. It just takes away of the cosiness the Wylder is trying to be, the late night campfire was Super too!Nearby activities: Stunning nature all aroundSafety: There's a major road , smack in the middle of the resort Route 296, not the safest place to let your kids freeNoteworthy details: If you're looking for a calm quiet place, this might not be the perfect place, as I heard the sounds of the road, Route 23, all the way to midnight and from early morning including trucks and Harley's

My family has been visiting this resort (formerly The Thompson House) since the 1940's. It holds a special place in my heart and was a major influence on me growing up.I think about this place all the time when I'm not there. When I'm there, I don't want to be anywhere else. Absolutely love the renovations (wish the restaurant was open daily though), and they've managed to capture the essence of the original resort while making it fresh and appealing for the next generation. We are now bringing our own kids and keeping the tradition alive and well for hopefully many years to come. Highly recommended for families as well as couples. I wish I could spend a whole summer here like people used to do when I was a kid.Rooms: Tastefully decorated, modern with luxury amenities and furnishings.Nearby activities: Plenty of outdoor activities abound, both on and off the resort.

The Wylder Hotel Windham is the perfect place to stay! Newly renovated and beautifully appointed plus super comfortable rooms. The staff and management went over and above to make our stay absolutely perfect. The lobby area had the comforts of home with a beautiful fireplace and comfy chairs & couches. For families and groups, the game room is a huge plus with video games, ping pong and more! Babblers Restaurant & Bar, and Babblers Bakery, conveniently located adjacent to the lobby, both provided delicious meals during our stay and the vibe is great! Overall, a wonderful experience, especially for my adult son who is special needs. The staff was so generous and kind to him and he's already asking when we can return. Looking forward to our next visit. Leslie, Anthony & Jesse

The location is beautiful of course. Harkens back to the 80s classic films based in this area. It has interesting features, but some spots are careworn and neglected. The team does not consider vegan guests and have to be continuously reminded. It would be cool as a wedding or family reunion spot but you’d really have to spend more time to warrant the distance to get there.

Overall the Windham Wylder is an excellent resort and we had a really nice time. For the holiday weekend, July 4th, they had activities lined up for all ages including for the kids a magic show which was great, balloon twisting, s’mores, and of course fireworks. We had been to the sister property in Maryland and it felt like a special getaway even though it was only two nights so we were super excited to see what Wylder was like in the mountains. It has the same great vibe of family and pet friendly but still classy and keeping with the environment, here Catskills Mountains. My overall takeaway is I would come back but I will be very specific with the staff when making my reservation since we had some issues. We were traveling with another family who also had small kids and we talked to the resort beforehand asking for nearby rooms. When we arrived we were early and told they would call us when our rooms were ready, we were also told the two rooms were on the ground floor two doors down from each other, it was a perfect set up, there would even be ‘backyards’ that the kids could run between. I was never called to get the keys so several hours later when I went to get them, the rooms were completely switched and no one could tell me why except ‘system error’. We were now not near our friends and two floors up in the Pines Inn which has very steep stairs. Our room was the furthest room from the front entrance, this building is likely from the 1800’s so of course no elevator. We have a 5 year old and 6 week old so the situation with the stroller and bassinet was a disaster. Every time someone wanted to go to the room it was a logistical headache and we had to go to the car put the stroller in the car, and then hike up the two steep floors with the two kids. At the time we just rolled with it but looking back I’m pretty frustrated. Our experience would have been so different had we had our original room to roll the stroller in and out of. The front desk was helpful and listened to our concerns but at the end of the day we were still the ones hiking those stairs several times a day for 4 days. If we had not had the baby it would have been fine. Our room itself was very cool, it felt like we were in a tree house and it was large, although it lacked a few basic things. No storage for clothes except a small suitcase stand and a few hangers and the bathroom only had a very small shelf to put things on. Given the size of the room there was no need for our stuff to be everywhere, there was plenty of space to put furniture and a vanity to unpack things.A few other recommendations would be to make sure there are pool attendants to check in to make sure there are towels and water at all times poolside, especially during a busy, hot, holiday weekend. Also the only available bathroom when you’re at the pool is the main one in the lobby for the restaurant. Every time my dripping 5 year old needed to go to the bathroom when at the pool we were walking through the beautiful lobby area soaking wet because believe me I was not hiking the mountain to our room to take her there. Finally, the items on the kids menu are just as expensive as the items on the rest of the menu which I found strange. And there was no food service between 12-1pm which was annoying because that is when the kids (and adults) get hungry for lunch and are in the pool not wanting to get clothed and find food elsewhere.Thank you Wylder, we look forward to seeing your progress as you evolve. It’s a wonderful property and in many ways they have paid close attention to important details, in other ways they have some work todo.

We visited the Wylder on our one year wedding anniversary and it was an amazing experience! The staff was wonderful, they even gave us complimentary champagne for our celebration! The rooms are beautiful, the mountain view with a porch is a must! We got dinner and drinks at Babbler's which was delicious. The amenities were great - we enjoyed the heated pool, electric bikes (check out the Windham Path!), and sauna. Thank you for making our anniversary weekend extra special!

We visited Wylder to attend a wedding. It really is a beautiful place to unwind, relax and enjoy nature.I could see this being an absolutely amazing destination in the summer and fall especially. To sit by the creek and be one with nature is priceless. There are many room options depending on which structure you are in.Also enjoyed eating at Babblers Bakery and Restaurant.I would highly recommend.Nearby activities: Great hikes and golf. Lots of outdoor activities.

Stayed at this hotel recently, in a room in the main building. My big complaint? The lack of coffee either in one's room or in the lobby. And for the price, one shouldn't have to buy coffee in the bakery/cafe.Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Far better than I expected.I'd also say that some of the staff at the front desk were just fine, while others were lackluster. Not mean, just not cheery.

My husband, dog, and I stayed at the Wylder Windham for a few days getaway. I was hoping to find a great retreat to return to throughout the fall and winter, but although the property was beautiful the service was very lacking (even during slow days), so I would be hesitant to return.Good:- The room was clean at check-in- Great pool and activity areas including a sauna, pickleball, and fire pits- Pet friendly and a great dog run- Close to good hikingRoom for improvement:- The first night of our stay we had hoped to sit at the fire pit area and relax, around 3 pits were lit on the property, but all the seats around them were already occupied. We asked the front desk if they would be able to light an additional fire pit since there were easily 5-6 other unlit pits, they said they would not light any further so we were unable to enjoy this that evening.- Room cleaning is only every third day or upon request, which was frustrating to find out after getting back from a long hike and finding towels in our room hadn't been refreshed nor trash removed.- We reserved package that included complimentary rose or prosecco at check-in, a smores kit for two, and breakfast. We were never offered the complimentary drinks or smore kit and the breakfast delivery had several issues during our stay.- The rooms only have tablets and no phones that go directly to the front desk, so when I called the front desk to resolve an issue with our breakfast delivery I needed to call the hotel on my cell phone and it took 5+ calls to reach the front desk.- We were sitting at the fire pits one evening and a bear wandered over and ate the smores ingredients we had bought. Nature being in the area is understandable, but we later learned that the bear frequents the resort and no staff had made us aware at check-in so we could use caution when walking around the resort late at night.

I recently stayed at The Wylder Hotel with my family for my mother in laws 60th birthday and while there were a few highlights, overall, my experience left much to be desired. Upon arrival, I was unfortunate enough to witness a maintenance mishap. A garbage bag being thrown into a truck broke, resulting in unknown fluids splashing all over me. I received a shrug and a "Sorry, I don't know what that was." Not exactly the level of concern one would hope for.Throughout our five-day stay, housekeeping seemed to be nonexistent. It is advertised in the room that housekeeping occurs on the third day. This was not accurate for my experience. We were left without towels, garbage piled up unattended, and beds remained unmade. It's as if the concept of cleanliness took an extended vacation. There is also no way to contact the front desk other than calling The Wylder directly as all the in-room tablets were not working. The itinerary, touted as a guide for exciting activities, proved to be utterly unreliable. For instance, a cocktail making class was promised, where guests would create two seasonal drinks. Instead, we were only able to make a single margarita that was basically made for us and we just shook the cocktail shaker. Similarly, a paint and sip event, which is typically geared as an adult-focused guided painting course with complimentary wine, turned out to be filled with children, canvases and paint. And we were told “Use your imagination”, as there was no guide or muse available. Another event worth mentioning is their beer and wine pop-ups that were promised on Saturdays. The online mentions had us eagerly anticipating a refreshing libation. However, on Saturday when it came time and no pop up was available, we were told, "We only do it sometimes”. It's clear that the hotel's events were a not organized, failing to deliver what was promised. The lack of available e-bikes was another letdown. Despite advertising six, there were only four bikes for use. Additionally, the alternative bikes provided were too large for 3 out of the 6 members in our group, limiting our ability to explore the area together. To add to the disappointment, on our last day, we were informed that the only available pool was closed for three hours due to a private event. It seems the guests' enjoyment took a backseat to exclusive access for a select few. After the 3 hour pool closure, when it was time for other guests to be able to use the pool, unfortunately there was a rainstorm which resulted in us having to chill out in our room. This wasn't a problem, until our tv streaming capabilities were not working, leaving us with absolutely nothing to do. A staff member came to the room to try and assist and they were also unsuccessful. On the positive side, The Wylder Hotel does show potential. The pickleball courts were enjoyable, and the saunas provided a refreshing and relaxing experience. The food served was also quite good, although the service was slow at times. I must commend the staff for their efforts in accommodating our requests, despite the many shortcomings. However, it's worth noting that most of the time, a manager was not on site, leaving the staff ill-equipped to handle inquiries beyond their expertise. This lack of managerial presence only further contributed to the overall lackluster experience. In conclusion, while The Wylder Hotel may have its redeeming qualities, such as the pickleball courts, saunas, great food, and the beautiful grounds...the numerous disappointments and inconsistencies, from the unreliable itinerary to the lack of available amenities, hindered my stay and left me feeling unsatisfied. There is certainly room for improvement, and I hope the management addresses these issues to provide a more consistent and enjoyable experience for future guests.

What a great experienced. Stayed her for one night during the soft opening. Very impressed by the resort. Everything is pristine from the grounds to the pool to the rooms. It was a short 2 hour drive from NYC. Everyone at the resort is friendly and engaging. Rooms are spacious, clean and beds are great. Rooms with a balcony offer a way to enjoy the outdoor views. Plenty of outdoor things to do if you are adventurous.Pool is heated and large with roughly 40 very comfortable lounge chairs. The bakery is open while the restaurant gets ready for a grand opening soon. Ate breakfast Saturday morning and pastries and coffee were spot on.Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and hope to be back soon. This resort will get very busy once the secret is out. Do not hesitate making a reservation as it will fill up fast once everyone knows about it.Hope you enjoy some of my pics.

Cant wait to return to the Wylder! Stopped in for a quick stay during the soft opening, and its clear that the people here know what they are doing. The renovation in the main lodge is beautiful, the rooms are immaculate and well appointed. With tablet service, anything not already in your room that you might need is just a click away. The grounds are pristine and exceptionally well cared for. Love the saunas which are sprinkled throughout the grounds, and the large lawn area for relaxing and game playing. The pool was an especially nice surprise- its generously sized and heated to the perfect temperature. We didn't get to try Babblers for dinner, but based on our experience at the cafe during the day, I expect that this will soon be a destination restaurant in the area.I think what i've just described can be said about many of the newer boutique hotels in the area. What makes the Wylder such a standout, is the people. The management and staff are so nice, so genuine, and so hard working- they are definitely setting the bar for hospitality in the area. Here, you are truly treated like a guest, and that, is what makes you want to return again and again. Thank you again to everyone at the Wylder!

Attended my nephews wedding last weekend and it could not have been more perfect! The welcome dinner, the ceremony, the awesome reception and the farewell brunch were absolutely the best. The food was delicious, the staff was extremely accommodating and attentive. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Highly recommend Wylder Hotel Windham. You won't be disappointed.

Went to their website. Clicked Rooms. All it said was "Farmhouse". Clicked it... was amazed and wondering how much. I have a big family it would be perfect for our catskills trip for. Saw pricing immediately on the next page. Some $200's in Nov, $300's mostly. I was sold. Selected a date and went to next page where it then showed me the room I was getting for that price. Classic bait and switch website. Disgraceful practice.
