The location is beautiful, well cared to and clean. But what blew my mind was the staff: absolute professionals. Always super helpful, nice and friendly. Our car needed a jump start and they hurried to help us, and with a smile. They saved our trip !They do smores night, and for the fall fest, we got donuts and cider for free !For 45$ a night for a tent spot, that was more than value price.

First time staying here. Second time staying at a Wilmington area KOA. This location is a new acquisition. The one around the corner we stayed at last year was closed for a reconstruction. They plan on having having 3 KOAs there soon. This one was nice and small. Bathrooms were clean. The cabin we stayed in was neat and cozy. The staff was exceptionally polite and courteous.

Absolutely love it here! Where else can you get full hookups in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks?! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Sites are well kept and bathrooms are clean. Great location to access so much in the area. Photo attached of the premium site we had while visiting in June '23.Rooms: Campground for RV's, tents and cabins.Nearby activities: Wilmington Beach, Wilmington Recreation Park, Whiteface Mountain, Ausable Chasm, Lake Champlain Ferries, and so much more!

If you were a regular at the old KOA location on Fox Rd you will not be a fan of the new location. I cannot believe they have the nerve to charge the same price as the old location for a very inferior product. I have been going to the old location for 40 years. It was such a beautiful campground. The new location cannot compare. It also doesn't have the amenities of the old location. I will start looking for other options when I want to visit the Adirondacks as the prices can no longer be justified for the current location. Also the sites are not nearly as nice. No decks or privacy on deluxe cabins but paying same price?? Our cabin and firepit were practically sitting on top of the road. Our toilet was not bolted down so it moved when you sat down. The shower handle wasn't working properly so it was hard to get hot water.

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the deluxe cabins. It was a bit pricey but clean and comfortable. The campground was very clean but at this new location there are not as many amenities. No pool however Wilmington Beach on the Ausable River is just a few minutes away. Playground for the little kids but not much in the game room besides ping pong and a pool table. Nice store and the staff was friendly and helpful although we didn't appreciate them speeding down the road in front of us in their golf carts. The old campground was right on the river and you could walk to the flume where we like to fish. We missed that. There were a few minor maintenance issues in our cabin, the worst one was the broken door on the bunk room such that it could not be closed for privacy.

Not as packed with amenities as you'd hope at a KOA. Stayed in a deluxe cabin which was nice, except for some lack of maintenance. Sites were a little small for hanging out. Game room was hot for kids, no AC, some games didn't work, and all cost money. Playground was very small. A good location to the Wilmington town beach which was great. Great location to Whiteface and Abusable river. Not a bad drive to Lake Placid.

This place is still advertising the pool and a 5 star location. They recently moved across the highway and this is more like a 1 star location. Beware they don’t have most of the things they had at the last location but they still show the images on their website. Took a walk around the site and almost all spots with sewer have the pipe a few inches out of the ground. Makes for a very stinky situation when you don’t have a good run for your sewer pipe. Asked to move locations and was told by the lady at the front desk, who’s already on the phone complaining that theirs people checking in, that all the sites were booked and we couldn’t move. 3 days later and no one has come in. In fact, most folks left. Try not to interrupt front desk lady. Watch your kids as well or she will snap at them for looking, and then buying stuff. Fire pits are very far from camper ideal spots(based on hook ups). Definitely not coming back here. Not family or kid friendly whatsoever.

We enjoyed our stay at KOA, little pricey for the night but the cabin was beautiful included cable TV, AC, little mini fire place for the fall/spring months. Refrigerator, all your linens and dishes even a gas grill outside to cook on. Beautiful location we will try to come back and stay longer next time. First responder/military discount also.

Very disappointed with KOA at this particular site.We stayed at the KOA in Bar Harbor and it was great, this one not so muchThe Location had recently moved to a new spot, I had never gone to the old one, but I bet it was better.Let me start off by saying, theres nothing to do here. Like, without spending money. There is no pool, and its no longer on the river, so during the heat of the summer theres nowhere to cool off without driving.Secondly, the sites are SMALL. We were given a “50 foot site” but theres barely any breathing room for out 32’ camper.Worst off all is the showers. The bathrooms themselves are nice, its your own private room with a toilet, shower, and sink, and are very clean, but that does not make up for the fact that, you have to hold a button the whole time to use the shower, and theres no temp change. They are scorching hot beyond belief. It’s probably about 120°+ waterIf you are staying here to hike around and travel the area, then its not horrible if you arent spending time at the campground. If you are staying to relax IN the campground, then I recommend finding somewhere else to do thatI still understand that its a new place, but they shouldve been more prepared

Stayed in our camper for 7 days. We had one of the largest pull thru sites in the middle. Worked well for us. Wifi is strong, so when we didn't have a campfire, we were able to stream shows from Netflix & other streaming services in ghe evenings. No cable TV. Great base camp for access to hiking & other outdoor Adirondack experiences. Staff available after 5p for emergencies but otherwise, no staff on premises after 5p, at least as far as we could tell. After hours, check-in is available.Walkability: Entire campground is well suited for walking.Noteworthy details: Dog park is pitiful & poorly located.

We stayed in a Deluxe Cabin for 1 night. We were very pleased with the location! We faced the woods with a tiny creek below. The cabin has a window A/C unit in the main area (kitchen/dining/LR) and heat throughout the cabin. The kitchen has everything we could possibly need! Full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, sink, and 3-burner stovetop (no oven, which is fine for us ;). There’s plenty of cupboard space for storage if you’re staying longer and want to bring more food items, cookware, etc. to save money from eating out every meal. The kitchen is stocked with a toaster, Keurig coffee maker, and even a regular (full pot) coffee maker. They provide a few complimentary KEURIG coffee and tea single-serve options, but if you want more, then you can either purchase more at the campground store or bring your own coffee/tea.There were plenty of dishes, utensils, cookware, and a wine bottle opener/wine glasses. The bathroom is stocked with towels/washcloths, soap, shampoo/conditioner, and a hair dryer. There’s plenty of storage in the bathroom, including 2 shelves under the sink and a medicine cabinet behind one of the mirrors. One bedroom has a set of bunk beds and the other bedroom has a queen bed with night stands and shelving with a hanging rack for clothes. There’s a TV in the main living space and one in the bedroom with the queen size bed.The sofa pulls out for additional sleeping room, but we didn’t use that this visit.Overall, we are VERY happy with our cabin and feel that it met (or even exceeded) our expectations for enjoying the Adirondack region. It rained the night we stayed, so I’m thankful that we were cozy and dry in our deluxe cabin. Unfortunately, no campfire though, due to the rain. Maybe next time we come! 😊

We stayed here for four days with my friends for the fourth of July week. Our one room cabin was nice, had a full size bed and bunkbeds (bring your own sheets andCampground. There was a small TV (missing remote) and a small fridge. The door has a deadbolt and a bar lifted from outside by rope and handle. Not sure what that is for - bears? Didn't see any.Our cabin had no kitchen or bathroom. Toilets and showers are nearby and potable water faucet was a bit of a walk.Surprisingly, didn't bother my family much and they had a great time. You can buy basic food and cook on an electric griddle or on the campfire if weather is clear and you have a campfire grill. You need to reserve cabins and camping spots well in advance as this is a popular campground. There is a game room (borrow DVD movies here) and train rides for children around the campground (wheeled cars pulled by a four wheeler).Front office has a gift shop where you can buy drinks, snacks, coffee, souvenirs and clothing. You may want to bring a coffee machine of some kind as options are limited in this area.I gave service 4 stars because I asked for a TV remote but there was no follow through. No loss, weren't there to watch TV.Rooms: Toilets and showers are nearby. Deluxe cabins have kitchens and bathrooms.Nearby activities: There are numerous hiking trails, a couple swimming holes, local park with beach and river great for canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.Ice cream shop, A&Ws, local diner, and little supermarket are nearby.

Spent three days here and I miss the old location. Actually, when I booked the reservation, I assumed it was on the old location since pictures of the old location were still on the website (shame on me, just assume they changed the entrance). I would have never paid what I did for this new location (not worth it). New site has no pool, game room consisting of a ping pong table, a pool table, and a couple of skeet ball machines. Our "Deluxe Cabin" (DC34) was obviously moved from the old location due to the broken window and bathroom door which I can only assume happened in the move. I would image it to be fixed by now but nope. Cabin was plopped down on a tiny bit of land leaving zero outdoor space (couldn't even place a 10'x10' canopy over the outdoor table). We left early (before 9:00) and no staff present to check us out, no directives on what to do, so I just left the key in the drop box in the "after hours registration check in shed". I hope their big plans for the old location pay off....really destroyed a great place to camp.

$60/night for a rusty camping site? Wifi was available only in office. The shower was super subpar. I am extremely dissatisfied with the value of money. For anyone who are looking for affordable options:-There are free campsites (no amenities). With little research, you'll be able to find.- there are airbnbs for the similar price with amazing amenities.Your money is worth, hen e do not spend in this campground.

I must admit that I was disappointed to see the former Whiteface KOA closed and moved 2 miles away. On the negative side, the pet area here is much smaller, almost worthless. There is also no pool. On the positive side, the staff is very good, the bathrooms and grounds spotless, and the property has access to lots of hiking and biking trails. You can walk to Wilmington Town Beach which I highly recommend! Some of the fastest WIFI I've ever had in a campground. Well stocked store. Fun weekend activities for families like Choo Choo train, tie dye, and smores. They pick up your trash at your campsite, and all RV sites have shade and decent spacing. Game room and large DVD Library. Laundry has newish machines, all working, and not over priced. By the end of our stay, we all agreed this KOA did not disappoint. We would be happy to come back.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said, but my two kids and I stayed in one of the small cabins here for a night in between hiking in the area. Beautiful campground, love the log cabins, and the large main building. Beautiful scenery. Cabin was spotless and worked perfectly for our stay. The bathrooms could have used some more attention, but I imagine it's hard to always have them perfect with guests continually through them. Will come back again and would highly recommend.

Poor excuse for a KOA- Advertised as a "Holiday" meaning pool, etc.- but not there! Whole bunch of tent sites, bathrooms are updated but minimal- Worst was showers have NO controls, just a push button for 5 sec. of water at about 140 degrees!!This a a really basic, nothing campground. But a great location in the woods-

There was no one in our sport the day before so they let us check in early (call ahead if you want to do this). The camp ground is very clean and quiet. The showers were so nice and had good pressure. The waterfall you can walk to from the camp ground in breath taking. The grounds staff are very friendly! Trash picked up only during the day so be careful of animals (raccoons got into ours). We were here before prime season so nothing was opened besides the main lobby with a little store so cannot review amenities like the pool, etc on the camp ground. Firewood was easily accessible and was $8 a bundle with fire starters included which you can get 24-7.

Great campground, especially for families. We really appreciated the warm showers, camp store, and nice staff. The reservation says fire ring but doesn’t guarantee a grill, so don’t count on your spot having one. We didn’t realize this until after arriving because that wasn’t clear on the website. We weren’t able to pick our spot ahead of time and there were no spots available with a grill for us to switch to. Not having access to a fire ring with a grill complicated our campfire dinner plans and their only solution was buying a grill from there store to use.All the laundry in the restrooms near us were out of order, with no signage of where you can find working ones. They did accommodate a request to help quiet noisy campers nearby after midnight. That was really helpful.Overall, pleasant experience. Beautiful area and nice amenities, when they work.

The old location on the other side of the highway was what I booked when I picked my cabin (pictures were of the old location). This feels like a bait and switch. My cabin DC70 stinks like wet dog and our view is 3camp roads with other cars. There’s no access to the Ausable River like the old location. Thankfully I’m only here one night.Everything in the cabin works so that’s nice. But again it stinks like dog.

We had an amazing evening, despite the ineptitude of myself not bringing sleeping bags for us, lol...the Service was incredible, especially Susan at the front desk, she gave us an incredible spot for privacy! Big kudos to Susan!! which reminds me to remind You..LOCK IN YOUR SPOT WHEN YOU MAKE A RESERVATION! lmao...We were able to cook our meals and have our fire, listen to our music(at a reasonable volume of course! )..Our only main 2 problems was that there was trash from the previous tenant leftover, which my wife cleaned up/bagged and left In the appropriate location for staff to remove upon Our departure, Second, THE EARLY MORNING AWAKENING BY A BULLHORN OR LOUDSPEAKER OF IN THE DISTANCE, ECHOING THROUGH THE WOODS!!!.....

My family has been coming to this campground every year for 45 years. I now bring my children here. It was a bittersweet visit this year as we heard it was closing. I feel this will be such a mistake. No other campground compares to this one. Nothing can match the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful trees, sound of the river, and views of Whiteface. The lodge is gorgeous, so much for kids to enjoy, safe family friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, nice tent sites. The cabins (N1 to N4) have a beautiful view of the forest and river below. An end of an era. We will not be trying the new KOA campground up the street as it will not offer the same atmosphere as this one does. Such a shame. This truly was the best campground ever. Can't believe it is closing. Many people have said the same thing. :(I had to come back to my post and add more. I have been reading through the reviews and there are so many people deeply saddened by their decision to close. What a shame. I wish the owners would read these reviews. These families have been coming for decades. They have checked out the "new" campground up the street and many state they will not go to the new one. My family included. Such a shame. I think KOA has made a horrible decision and will see in a few years that they won't be getting the same number of campers as they do now. People just won't come. Or if they do, it will be a one time deal. No one will return. Just not the same and it doesn't compare to the KOA on Fox Farm Rd. Such a shame. What a horrible business decision for KOA. Why ruin a perfect thing? Must be about money. I cried as I left the campground yesterday.

This was our home base for 3 nights while we toured the local area and it was great! We had booked a patio site and were shocked to see that it wasn’t like a typical KOA where you are tightly squeezed in between your neighbours in a field. This place had trees all around, nice vegetation and noticeable separation between sites for a bit of privacy. The staff weren’t overly friendly but weren’t rude either, they certainly kept to themselves. I was very disappointed to hear that this park is closing after this season, it is a shame as it is one of the best KOA’s we have visited to date. Washrooms/showers were clean, site garbage pick up was a nice treat, the food stand was awesome for a snack and the amenities were good! Looks like we will have to find another home base for next year’s adventure though 😞

Stayed in a glamping tent for a unique experience compared to a regular hotel. The rooms were smaller, but the front of the tent extension definitely makes it feel bigger. Had a severe storm come through and felt safe the entire time. We were even able to use the table on the extension to eat and didn't get wet at all even with a downpour of rain. The staff was fantastic and before the storm came informed us of the incoming weather. The tent and bathhouse were both very clean which was an added bonus especially being in the woods. We were definitely impressed and will look to use a KOA in the future.

Apparently KOA had a really nice park and moved. Very deceiving the old park still on the internet it had a beautiful pool and on water. New park has nothing no swimming pool, or on water. Sewage, smell when walking around the park. Extremely over priced $125.00 a night, for what? Will not return.

What a gem! This location is absolutely fantastic with direct access to water falls and swimming pools in the Ausable river. We stayed in a deluxe cabin which included a well maintained two burner Weber gas grill. Our family enjoyed riding bikes around the site and taking advantage of all the fun this KOA has to offer. Highly recommend this and we'll be back again!

Really nice koa staff is very friendly and nice. If I could give them 10 Stars I would the cabins were clean and very nice. White face mountain is one of the most majestic sites to see in one's lifetime. Family-friendly, with all the necessities. Flume falls gorge was one of the sweet little surprises right there on the grounds.
