I remember the first time I saw the sign outside the store that called it “world famous” and I laughed. I thought what could be world-famous in Williamson. However for the first time recently I went in the store in my jaw dropped. Anything you could ever imagine is in the store. Not only is it super practical but it’s super fun to head into this store and explore more than five different floors full of house items. You have to go!

Great hardware store, great staff with a UPS drop off inside (and offer receipts). Has a second floor, although I've never been up there and they sell quite a selection of wood burning and old fashioned stoves. I might add, in my opinion, they have the very best seasonal and holiday window displays I've seen in the county. Festive & beautiful!

Do not use their service techs for wood stove repairs. They did not use the right size gasket for my stove. The owner said it was a Vermont Castings; it was not. The doors would not close properly. I had to special order the gasket and have another service tech do the installation. The owner refused to realize that different stoves require different gasket size. When the problem was obvious; all I got from "Gary" at the time was a rude in your face response. I told the owner I did not want them to come back. And a month later I was billed an excessive amount even with no resolution of the problem. A neighbor said a month later that he had a similar problem with them. They overcharged him and he war furious. He said he was not at home and it was his wife who like me; never got a bill for the job at the time. The way they operate is really questionable. You have no idea what their charges are up-front.I would not recommend them because of the sketchy billing.

Jim and his daughter are very knowledgeable in fireplaces. I only wish I went there to purchase mine several years ago. I miss the options their units have. They rate a "10+" in my book! They are awesome with custom service.

A place I've frequented since I was 16, and always been treated with respect even as a kid. I'll always love this place as long as they keep up the good employees. The nostalgia alone is enough to keep me coming back but the friendly service gets an A+ from me. They have had what I needed every time I've gone there besides a christmas ornament but I was looking for something pretty one off and unique so I dont blame them lol

Great old school hardware store with a large and diverse inventory of quality hardware - not the cheap, lowest common denominator cr that the big box stores carry.Also a huge display of amazing stoves (wood and wood pellet) and every conceivable accessory and a large display of gas fireplaces inserts.Well worth the drive !Also low key, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly reccomend !

Amazing selection of almost anything you need from beautiful decorations upstairs at the Country Attic to a huge selection of supplies to add or fix something at your home on the second floor and then a variety of stuff for hunting downstairs on the 3rd floor !!! One of the best places to visit in Williamson !

I am a home owner in Ontario NY - I recently called WHI and was taken care of by Jim [owner] to arrange a House of Fire Gas Fireplace originally purchased from WHI by the previous home owner. The request was for a home visit by a WHI Fireplace Specialist to clean and get the unit on. Yesterday, Gary arrived at our home at exactly the time scheduled. I am writing this to say the visit was a TEN (10+) - not only was Gary super competent - he informed me that the two sided unit had never been serviced - the glass so black it was impossible to see anything, Gary was meticulously diligent in taking the unit apart and reassembling - he left the unit working and looking like brand new - cleaning up all the residue of the repair. In this day and age Gary exemplifies everything one would want - this visit exceeded every possible aspect of my expectations, Thank you Gary, Jim and WHI. A very happy customer

If you ever find yourself in the Williamson New York area , Williamson hardware is a must stop from beautiful antique design stoves to the most modern of lighting to the tiniest of paintbrush all your hardware needs. Also make sure you take a trip upstairs to look at all the Christmas goods and well-crafted item you won't be sorry enjoy a cup of coffee or a free app this place is a must-see!!! They have a great American Country Shop upstairs. Everything for country decor and also seasonal items. Downstairs is paint, hardware, Elmira Stoveworks appliances, BBQ grills

Small compared to your big box stores. But you can find just about everything. From fire places to woodburning stoves to paint or electric or plumbing supplies. Staff helpful. Also upstairs has curtains placemats and decorative items for home.

This business treats employees with disrespect. In addition, they don't hire people with disabilities. Some of the employees are not knowledgeable on how to cash out a customer that has a large quantity of the same product.

The service is always OUTSTANDING... If its not in stock it will be in a couple of days later. If they don't know the answer to a question they don't try give a bull answer and try to sell something they don't even know if will work. I appreciate the honesty.

I have to tell you this, Williamson Hardware... your tradition of 50 cent coins. I had one, went to wegmans, the young cashier looked at the 1/2 dollar coin and asked...What's This? Hahaha.
