Really surprised me how affordable it is. (Was my first time) 100% recommended to shop at Dollar General. If you have it in your town. I went to dollar general on 1-19-23 before work and the guy running the register was talking on his cell phone while checking people out. There is a pot whole in front of the store entrance that desperately needs fixed. The store was in need of organization. There were lots of empty boxes in the walkways. 10-18-23 I called your store5 times today and it rang and rang and no one picked up the phone. But on a positive note it’s nice to see they pot hole in the front of your store was finally fixed.

Great store that is almost always fully stocked. Excellent place to go for basically all you home needs. From beer to freezer foods to pharmacy items. Can't beat it.

This store definitely has a broad variety of useful merchandise. Their prices are about what would be expected from a dollar store. However there are quite a few problems with this store as well. There often appears to be only one employee, leading to incredibly long and slow lines at the single open register. The store is frequently very dirty and always incredibly disorganized. Shelves are a mess, merchandise is often in the wrong spot or lacks clear labeling. In general it rarely feels as though any care was given to the cleanliness and organization of the store. I am not sure if it is due to poor management or poor staffing, but it is a very visible problem. I feel that perhaps the reason this store has stayed open so long under these conditions is that it effectively has a corner on this market in the area as there are not really any stores selling the kind of general wares carried at this Dollar General which are any closer than Monticello.

This store has a lot of "I need" last minute or "right around the corner" items and is essentially like a mini Walmart which s great! However, it's extremely disorganized and unstructured. Most times you can't locate in what isle the items you are seeking can be found in. This can be very frustrating and makes you lose interest and just leave.

The store usually has what i am looking for and is close by and convenient. HOWEVER, it is disorganized and the registers are down a lot. The touch screen doesn't work and when I asked the cashier how i could use my digital coupons if the touch screen is down she basically yelled at me and gave us a guilt trip about needing to change registers or call someone in from their lunch break. It's not my fault if the equipment doesn't work. We ended up not buying most of what we shopped for. A few weeks prior to this trip the register wasn't printing out receipts and when i asked I got yelled at. Now when i think i need to pick up something on the way to the lake i ask myself, "do i feel like getting yelled at by a cashier today?"

They have changed things around.. its Great! Like a mine supermarket even fresh vegetables! Dollar General is like the Bodega of the Catskill! No more driving 30 miles for fresh fruits. Large selection of items its a .ini Walmart...

This place needs more help , this Dollar General is definitely better then the Eldred Dollar General when it comes to ordering and staying on top of the ordering of inventory. This place needs to hire more people though, the one new lady is nice, but doesn't know her job very well. It's info that they can't keep a full staff that works hard and knows what they are doing. I talked to other customers and Employees about this and the other customers and Employees agreed that they need more staff, but according to who would normally do the hiring there isn't "technically" a store manager, who is the,one that has to do the hiring. Customers and staff stated they did interviews and have people to hire, but it is up to the store manager... My question is then why were the interviews done on the first place? If only the store manager can hire,the person for the jobIt's not fair to the employee doing the interview or to the person that is being interviewed, giving them an interview and given them false hopes that they,will or could be hiredWhy is this store going through so many managers? Actually all the dollar,General's in this area ate falling apart,and going through,mangers like crazy. Maybe they need to look at the BIGGER PICTURE IF you have to,keep changing STORE MANAGEMENT then maybe the Company should be looking at the District Manager and Regional manager to see where the problem really is. Instead of just hiring people that are not at all fully qualified for the positions. This is just going to hurt Dollar General Companies all around.

Love coming into this store located in whitelake. Within the past year it has gotten 100 %better. Very clean , very organized, very helpful staff , smells awesome when u walk in and the store manager has helped me many times n sloved the issues I may of had . By far Stephanie Carmack is the best store manager ever !!!! Will come again over n over !!!

Nice store. Nice employees. Products and prices competitive with walmart, at least what they have, which is a good amount of essentials and grocery. I prefer to shop here if I can. Although obviously much smaller than walmart.

Remodeled store but is still a bit crowded. The staff is polite and helpful. The addition of produce to the store's stock is a great idea and is reasonably priced and always fresh.

Wide variety of merchandise at same or better prices than Walmart or SHOPRITE. Saves many trips to Monticello or Liberty, so savings on gasoline add up also.Ample, convenient parking.Staff is very friendly & helpful!

The manager Art is one of the best hard working guys you get.Always polite, friendly no matter what the situation.Matter of fact he should crack the whip a little harder on some of the girls sometimes, and not be taken advantage of

This store is so much better kept than the one even closer to me in Liberty..NY.. I would rather travel a bit extra for a cleaner store..feels safer that there is probably no bugs or rodents if I travel here! Always friendly staff also!!

A mid sized stand alone Dollar General location. All your typical Dollar General amenities. This location also has 6 & 12 packs of beer. Located right across the street from Big Kev's Bbq. Closest Dollar General store to the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts & historic 1969 Woodstock festival site.

Store is a mess. Manager on duty was yelling at workers while setting up an umbrella display. Meanwhile the checkout line was 4 or 5 people deep.

It's close by. Before it opened here many people would have to travel. Not much here in our area. The prices are great also! The store does need to be larger! Very cramped and at times cluttered.

It's dirty. The groceries are all over the floor. I don't necessarily think this is a reflection of the employees. I believe the people that shop here are inconsiderate they pick up and drop things on the floor when they decide not to buy.

Went in to get a bottle of soda coming back from pa n two that where working was outside smoking they saw me standing there waiting had to go outside n say anybody working for them to come in to check me out then gonna have an attitude cause they had to come in then when I'm leaving one is outside cleaning the snow of her car
