Grew up going to this place multiple times a week every summer for years. From a nostalgic standpoint this is the best place ever. As an adult who appreciates good food I will say that the food is good but not amazing. The sandwiches are made fresh and pack a ton of meat. The ice cream is good and the milkshakes are amazing although very thick.

I have been coming to Monticello every summer since I was 14 years old . And Candy Cone was the first stop it's was like a tradition. To this day this place is still the same as it was when I was 14 . I look forward to it every summer ☀️.

Delicious ice cream, fast service. Much pricier than we’re used to in the area, but as a treat, wasn’t terrible. Only “complaint” was they were out of ice cream bars, which my youngest was super excited about (they have pics up of the bars right at eye level for kids), so that was a bummer, but otherwise, everything was good.

[Edit 8-14-2021]By the reviews listed, this spot seems to be open again.Time for a trip and a real review!********************************************************Went for ice cream with my son.Online it stated they were open for business.After a 20 minute drive we were surprised they were closed. Dissapointed the info was incorrect.Should have called i guess.Will return if/when they open and update this review. Everyone deserves a second shot.

Closed 30 minutes earlier than the time time stated and turning down customers. One of the girls behind the counter is the rudest and cannot deal with children which would be ideal for an ice cream shop. They have switched owners from previous years, I find no reason going there when you can have better ice cream and a better experience down the road or in your own home.

Very popular place, but also extremely expensive for an ice cream shop. They seem to be one of the only ice cream places in the area which presumably enables them to charge such high prices. They do offer a wide variety of other things aside from just ice cream, including food items such as burgers and fries. Unfortunately however, I just can't say enough about how pricy their items are.

Delicious ice cream and friendly service. Lots of flavors - they even have ice cream treats for dogs! There's outdoor picnic tables where you can enjoy your ice cream. Bring cash - they are cash only!

First time here, ordered a milkshake and a rainbow sherbet. We wanted an oreo milkshake and all they could do was vanilla icecream and oreo cookie crumbs on top. Fine. But my rainbow sherbert HAD A DEAD FLY IN THE MIDDLE. We came back and asked for a refund. The young lady in the front was very friendly and apologized but the old man that was the manager didnt say a word to me or apologize for my inconvenience and the unsanitary foods I recieved. I recieved a refund for the sherbert after seeing the fly, I returned the milkshake as well. I will NEVER come back again and do not reccomend anyone else to go there either.

Come here on weekends when I'm in the area. Very nice people and good ice cream. Seating in the back, lots of tables. They make great burgers

Whether it's busy or not busy the line always goes fast to get served they're soft serve ice cream is delicious and they also serve old scooped ice cream they have great lunch specials and their Philly cheesesteaks are to die for
