Very very well kept store - tanks are kept in immaculate condition, products are fronted neatly, and above all, super clean. Great place to shop - staff is very pleasant to deal with, and VERY reasonable livestock & hardgoods prices.

Very happy with The Aquarium Shop. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff there to help advise you. The place is immaculate and they are careful and concerned with the health and well being of the fish. They offer computerized water testing if you bring in a water sample, which tests many parameters of your water and not just the Ph level. I feel they are way above other shops we've been to.When we first started to keep fish we tried the big box storeswhich were useless and frustrating with no help in the fish dep't.Some of the small shops are not as well kept as we experiencedsome diseases that spread to the other fish in our tank.Very happy we found this place!Here's "The Grey Goose" we got from here, she's beautiful and friendly and makes us laugh.

Horrible!! I would not believe the positive reviews within the last few months. Tanks completely dirty, almost no water flow, bubble algae all over the place in the tanks. Different types of fish that don't look like they come from a breeder just stolen from the ocean. This place has completely changed and it obviously shows. Previous owners at least cared about their living fish. Would never recommend or go again.

Really awesome selection of freshwater fish, lots of unique tetras. Well cared for tanks, friendly staff. Well thought out store. Loved they had a section to build a reef with the rock! Saltwater tanks seemed to be getting quite a bit of sunlight in the front effecting their water quality, but overall really great place to get fish! Prices seemed reasonable too, most of their equipment was comparable to online pricing (and I've done A TON of research).

I've been to this shop a few times since they reopened under a new name/management a few months back. Every time I've gone in, the staff has been very attentive and knowledgeable. The livestock appears to be healthy and competitively priced. Most importantly, I have had no issues with any of the corals or invertebrates I've purchased there. I plan to buy fish in the future. They appear to have a nice tropical selection as well. I've run into multiple fellow "reefers" who still think it's old business and had no interest in going there. If you haven't been to The Aquarium Shop yet, you need to check it out.

This store is under new management as of early 2022. With Joe's help, Mike and Krystian came over from Manhattan Aquariums to revamp this location into the new LFS destination for everything Marine, Freshwater, and Planted. Along with the staff, everyone worked very hard to bring the customers a brand new shopping experience. We appreciate the efforts they've put into it, and hope The Aquarium Shop will keep the location going for many many years to come.

The Aquarium Shop Westbury is the best place that I have been to to buy saltwater fish. I have been to Advanced Marine Aquatics before and this place is better. I cannot comment on other stores. The store is decently sized, clean, organized, filtration system is well managed. The employee (forgot his name) was helpful and knowledgeable. The clownfish I got from here is great. The one thing that I wish this store had was quarantine tanks to guarantee that the fish you buy has no Ich. I see how unrealistic it is to have empty main tanks for 4+ weeks , but it would have been nice to have that reassurance so that I would not have to quarantine in the first place. They did tell me they have copper and other meds in the tanks. That is something. This is my top place to go. The only reason I would choose Petco is because it is closer to me.

This is the best aquarium shop I have visited, and I’ve been to many on Long Island and the boroughs. The gent I spoke with said they opened last May, and continue to renew the old shop. State of the art equipment, spotless tanks, excellent supplies. I recently downgraded my rating. If you are looking for freshwater fish, the past few times I went the stock was very limited. If saltwater is your thing you can't go wrong.

Amazing LFS!!!!! Great Fish, Great Coral, Great People, and an amazing product selections. You’re not gonna find another spot like this often, I personally have made many coral and fish purchases and each one is currently thriving!!!! I had purchased a Naso and Sailfin tang and both are extremely healthy and have spectacular color both when I first got them and currently!

Great shop, super clean and a wide selection to pick from! just a flag - some fish have signs of ich so pls quarantine fish before taking them into your community tanks. Or raise the temperature for the first 3 days to get rid of the ich.Aside from the above the shop is grand. So close to 5 stars , with healthy fish this is the best shop around!

I'm compelled to write a review about this place, because I think they are very close to being a top-notch fish store. The employees are very friendly and will try to answer all your questions. You can tell that the employees at this shop really enjoy working with tropical fish, as opposed to the employees I've encountered at the big chain pet shops who seem not to care. The store layout is good, and the tanks are clean.I saw complaints about the fish selection. I can only speak for freshwater fish, and they have a nice amount of specialty fish that you likely won't find at the big chain stores. The fish stock changes as fish sell out, and perhaps a different fish takes its place. I would call and ask if they have the specific fish you are looking for in stock before going and potentially getting disappointed.Here is the reason I didn't give 5 stars. No, it's not the return policy of no refunds; I can understand that. The prices are generally very reasonable as well. The issue is ich. Ich is an external parasite that usually look like tiny white dots on the exterior. It's very treatable and goes away quickly with medication. I can tell you that if you buy fish at a big chain store, in my experience there is a 99% chance that fish will have ich or something worse, like internal worms and such. I expect that, but here is where a small aquarium shop can stand out even more from the chain stores, by pre-treating at least some of their fish. The fish I bought looked great in the store. The next morning, white spots all over the fish in my tank. I couldn't quarantine, because I had no other available tanks. So now I'm treating my whole tank with medication. If I'm doing that, then I might as well buy from the chain stores since they are much closer. That's my suggestion. Pre-treat a few tanks and put a sign on the tank what the tank was treated for, and don't use the same nets/containers from tank to tank. It wouldn't cost much, and I think more happy customers getting healthy fish equals more 5 star reviews!

I can’t say I’ve been to every aquarium store in the area but this one is currently the only store I really like. It’s clean, the tanks are all clean and it’s obvious they take care of the livestock. It’s rare that I walk into a tropical fish store and walk out with a bag, but I’ve stopped in here three times and twice I left with fish, considering that the first visit was purely a scouting mission I’d say it’s a solid indication that I feel good about this location. I wish them fabulous success as their success will ultimately be my good fortune.

Walked in today and was shocked to find that this store looked entirely different, it is incredible. They really revamped the place. The employee told me it is under new ownership and you can definitely see it.Their employee was honest. He told me about the sick fish and which ones to avoid until they finished treatment. He explained that the store was not importing new fish until they completely isolated the disease. Every fish store has diseases, but not every fish store is upfront about it, and not every fish store makes such an awesome effort to keep their tanks healthy.This place is going to be the new hotspot for hobbyists for sure. Especially once they finish stocking up their tanks in the coming weeks.

Bought fish here. Died next day. Went back to shop. Saw several dead fish in same tank I bought from. They refused refund. The manger said "we do not guarantee fish once you leave store." Do not buy here

I like this place a lot. Staff is helpful- there is one in particular that really goes out of hours way to help and give you information- but some of the other staff aren’t super friendly. Great selection of freshwater plants, fish, inverts, as well as saltwater. Tanks are clean and well maintained. Lots of supplies- though some of the tanks and decorations for sale are collecting dust. This store tends to have some livestock that other aquarium stores don’t have. Prices are fair.

Beautiful place, new owners tanks were beautiful very clean. The guy I spoke to (didn't catch his name) was very nice and helpful. This place seems to be very good at keeping track of inventory and when shipments are coming (granted this is a first impression and unverified, will find out if what they say they'll have next week they will have). But overall my experience today and what I saw I have no problem what so ever driving 10 minutes out of my way to visit this place over going to pets warehouse. Keep it up guys I need a great fish store to go to and this looks like a winner.

Nice stock. Customer service is horrible! The experience there could have been much better without the rude attitude towards customers willing to pay. Little did they know I came with my wife and they were snickering at me when I asked if they could help me with the price for a bulk order of fish. My wife observed everything from afar.The professionalism is definitely not there. I've been to many fish stores and I have been in the hobby for 20+ years. Avoid store if you can get the livestock elsewhere. Definitely a bit overpriced. Just trying to inform the fish hobbyists out there.

Have been buying food and chemicals for a year. Today I walked in to purchase food and found a tank that was a show tank with a wrasse in it that I wanted. The fish retails for 69.99 the man working there said the owner is going to charge you 149 because its in the show tank. I told him thank you but I would not pay that premium for the fish and thank you. With that the owner became aggressive towards me like he was doing me a favor overcharging me. I said I spend a fair amount of money in this store and I try to support local establishments, his response was I work all the time and have never seen you here I am the owner if you don't like it leave. I did exactly that and explained to the owner he had no clue about customer service. His fish are always sick they all drain to the same system and I would never ever spend another dollar in that store after meeting the belligerent owner. Too bad his staff is really nice and helpful a young man who is there on the weekends knows his stuff. The owner also has a different price if you pay cash or charge. Update manager Peter calls me today Oct 31 , 2018 to threaten me about what happened in the store and that he will be suing me because what I posted was he claims is slander.

We used to love this place. They were helpful and had tons of fish and corals to choose from.In our opinion the place has gone downhill. Dirty tanks, algae, half the tanks are closed down, coral selection diminished, no help. We’re sorry to see it. What a shame.They used to have a large friendly staff, now they’re down to one guy and a girl who was actually very nice.They really need to get back to how they used to be.Sorry to say we won’t be back.
