My groomer was Winter and she was professional, patient with my pet and very informative to me as a pet parent. She took the time to explain how I can properly care for my poodle's coat. Please note that she performed her job in a caring manner and all of this with a smile.

This was the first time my dog saw Justin. He was wonderful from the moment I walked in! He gave me a warm greeting, and he was even sweet with my son.He treated my dog like his own, and she turned out wonderful after I picked her up! He was very knowledgeable about my dog breed (Pomeranian) And answer all my questions . My Pom will definitely be going back to see him again in a few weeks. Thanks Justin :)

We came to purchase a collar for my dog. Best experience was with the cashier. She was very pleasant and offered a doggie treat my dog enjoyed. My dog left crumbs I was going to pick upShe said not to worry, the store has a broom. She was a breath if fresh air.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR GROOMING SERVICES. DO NOT BOOK WITH PET STYLIST JUSTIN K.! Unfortunately, my groomer cancelled and I had to make a last minute appointment at this shop. As soon as I walked in and said hello, a white male groomer asked if I had an appointment (instead of greeting me and welcoming me in). I stated I had an appointment with groomer Justin K. Justin comes to the front and once again I was not greeted and instead asked for the vaccinations. I provided the vaccinations and then was asked how short you want it? The entire experience was not welcoming and to say the least simply rude. This is crucial as this experience is nerve wrecking for my dog and I. After picking up my dog with an āokayā haircut he had razor bumps/burns under his belly. My dog has been getting groomed for over 3 years now and this has never happened. This is extremely upsetting and I am in contact with Petcos corporate office. I repeat do not come here for grooming services!

To put things into perspective , my dog is an Havanese, 13 years old and weighs 7lbs. I made an appointment online in the West Babylon location for grooming. I arrived a little early and asked an associate where to check in since itās my first time there. She pointed to the room and as I opened the door the groomer walked in behind me. We both agreed that I was a little early, but he said he could check me in just not take the dog from me because he was in the middle of grooming another dog( which I found a little odd since he was not with the dog but on the floor ) He asked a few questions then proceeded to ask how old my dog was. When I told him she was13, his response was that he canāt groom her because she was too old and canāt stand. How does he know what my dog is capable of doing after seeing her for all of two minutes? I was really shocked and taken aback so I asked him why itās different here than the other locations, where I have been taking her for over two years. He said itās policy but not everyone follows it. I asked for the manager told her what happened and asked to be shown where it states in store or online, that they have the right to refuse service based on a dogs age. She said she is going to look for the policy and for me to wait. I sat on the ledge in the store and waited. Twice I had to ask the associate by the register how much longer because I have errands to run. At one point I was told the manager was calling/ checking other locations trying to find this non existent policy. After sitting for over half an hour she finally came out and handed me a service authorization ticket where she highlighted small breed dogs 11 and older. I felt she insulted my intelligence by trying to pass off a grooming pet release saying thatās the policy. I tried to explain to her and the other associates who were all talking at the same time, that the purpose of this form is to protect Petco. If I check certain boxes and sign the form after checking in the dog then I cannot hold them (Petco) liable in case something happens during the grooming service. She then says she canāt force the groomer who was standing there, to do something heās not comfortable with. She also states heās good but heās new so he doesnāt have the skill set to handle older dogs the same way other groomers do. I was so infuriated that the manager Megan, Jared B the groomer, and another associate who joined in the conversation was acting, as if I was asking them to do something illegal. I wasnāt asking for them to do me a favor, I am a paying customer. I know itās discriminatory to treat a human differently based on their age, I just never thought it would be happening to the youngest member of my family. I wish I could give a zero rating.

My dog had a grooming service done at this location - haircut, deshedding, bath.. I noticed he was scratching a lot afterwards. The scratching persisted. I applied a wet cloth to the areas to try to relief him and there were bubbles, suds that started to come appear. I then rinsed him in the bath and came to find that the soap used was not rinsed off from him. The amount of soap that came off from rinsing him was disturbing. As you can see in the pictures his skin is very agitated. I called in today to speak with management. Spoke with a gentleman who said he would have to relay the message to the manager and would call me back. I didnāt receive a call back. I didnāt want to leave a review but if someone can please call me to rectify this situation. This shouldnāt have happened and shouldnāt happen to anyone elseās dog in the future.

How does a pet store stop selling raw hide bones? Very quick to try and sell me a "raw-hide alternative". I am not giving my dogs an "impossible bone". Thats like if 7-11 were to stop selling candy and slurpees. You guys must cater only to the P.C. snowflake type folk. Good luck with your store.

Today I was at Petco (West Babylon) and went VETCO. The team at Vetco Dr. Lindsey , Lindsey the the medical assistant and Sherry. This complete team is outstanding . The go beyond the norm. The team of DR. Barounis is , medical assistants Lindsey and Sherry should not go unnoticed by corporate. I have never experienced such wonderful service from Petco or Vetco before . My wife and my family would like to thank the Vetco for the I professional and friendly service. As I checked out. The service went out beyond the norm again. Maisie at the front of the store was unbelievably helpful and such a nice person to deal with. Thanks to all

NEVER buy betas fish from Pet smart. Worst idea ever . A friend of mine bought a fish from their perfectly filtered tank, heated, everything to benefit the betas needs. Overnight the beta showed signs of sickness (couldāve been ammonia poisoning) the beta couldnāt swim right jumping out of its tank etc . She returned her fish and got her money back. A few days later I go to buy a fish i spent over 20 minutes looking for signs of a sick Beta and tried looking for little things like fin rot , lack of motionless/on the bottom of the cup, burnt gills for ammonia everything . I bought the most active looking fish and within 5 days my fish came to the same fate. I had a 5 gallon tank a heater that set the water to exactly 79Ā° F bought a bubbler, hides conditioned the water, drip acclimated this fish . And yet still started to show signs of ammonia poisoning, fin rot and possibly swim bladder too. Did a water changed to see if it would help the fish but he died the next day. These betas are already dying with ammonia poisoning before you even get them. The small cups were they are kept in is unethical, some of the betas water was even yellow. Keeping beta fish in an ammonia spiked cup to sell to people is unethical and unfair . Spend more of the stores budget on proper care for these fish. There is literally a button when returning the fish that saids ādeadā so I can infer that this is a common occurrence. When I went back to return my fish I noticed that all the fish that were there were gone. I highly doubt they were bought . I would give 0 stars if i could . Stop neglecting fish.

Overall, I like Petco. The staff tends to be helpful and things are easy to find. I don't think their prices are any better or worse than the other large pet supply outlets, though it might depend on the product. I've found certain items or even an entire brand could cost less at Petco than other stores while another product or brand might be cheaper elsewhere. However they do have a "clearance" section where you can often find something you need at a substantial discount. Taking the time to check that section could save you some money if you're lucky. That fact alone gives Petco an edge over PetSmart, who at the time of this writing do not have a clearance section.

Maurice was wonderful. Went above and beyond I came in fir a parakeet they did not have any except fir the one they were putting up fir adoption. Since she wasn't out in the floor. He went to the vet area and brought her out. My other bird is so happy with the new addition

While I was there I looked over towards the grooming section and saw the groomer harming one of the dogs. Not only did he grab her in a harsh way which made her cry twice but then proceeded to smack her in the head. I informed the manager of what had happened and I truly donāt think anything was done to protect the dog further. I was mortified with what I saw and the groomer that did it used to be the one to groom my dog. I am disgusted and appalled. He deserves to be fired and never to work with animals again. For all those that go to this pet supplies please please do not do grooming here especially do not do grooming with JARED B. he was the one that I saw being cruel to this poor pupp.

You cannot expect the service to be completed if you make the stylist feel bad for their grooming service,I had a grooming service from the West Babylon location with stylist Justin. He took the dog for the service and the dog was in the middle of bath.While the dog is taking a bath, I asked a few questions, and he said he doesn't feel comfortable providing a service for me. And he took the dog out from the bath and returned. I needed to leave the location with a wet dog..That was the appointment with reservation, and he already agreed to provide the service and the dog was in the middle of bath. At that point, he could decline the service based on the dog's condition, but not based on his mood or how he likes the customers. It was quite an unprofessional response.

I went to this store to find out about beta fish and how to get my daughter started with a small tank. We came to the right place. Mo and Joe at the fish department took great care of us. Told us exactly how to acclamate our fish, how great live plants are to have, and what else can go into the tank that's not a fish. Can't wait to go back and expand on my tank now. Thanks again. Good variety of toys and treats. Some Different dry foods/kibble than petsmart. More sweaters/cloths for dogs than petsmart. Love that they sell barkbox brand toys! They are a little more rugged than typical toys..They are the only ones that sell Orajen brand which my dogs are currently on.

Just an advice, Petco shouldnāt hire staff that is afraid of dogs, if the job is to be around dogs, the grommer guy with glasses should have a proper training.

When I went to pick up my dog from her petco grooming appointment I was very disappointed with what I saw, I had asked for a puppy cut as well as a bath; my puppy had a weird lump of leftover fur at the base of her tail, as well as her tail looking wonky in general (thatās most definitely not how we had dropped her off). She also had eye boogers still left over on her face, whoever groomed her really did not pay attention and just wanted to her it over with. If I knew this is what they wouldāve done to her i wouldāve cut her hair myself and gotten considerably better results. embarrassed to say i paid $80 to have my dog look like a gremlin. needless to say iām gonna be booking grooming appointments with bayshore moving forward.

The one star is regarding the grooming department. I had picked up a 3 month old doodle puppy to foster that desperately needed grooming. His hair was matted and needed help. I contacted multiple groomers who said they were unable to groom him because the foster group did not provide me with his vaccine records, which is understandable. I walked into Petco to speak with the grooming department to see if they would groom him and told them of his history and informed that I didnāt have any vaccine records. They were fine with it and said he was too young to receive a rabies vaccine so they could groom him. I reiterated that I did not have any vaccine records to bring to the appt and wanted confirmation that was okay. They repeated that itās fine since heās too young to have a rabies vaccine anyways. I booked him an appt for the following day. Next day comes and they refuse to groom him without vaccine records. Frustrating, waste of time and disappointing. If they had said they wouldnāt have been able to groom him from the beginning I would have understood but to have me load up a large puppy into the car and take him there just to be turned away when I spoke with someone the day before who said they would groom him was a waste of time and frustrating.

Update: now that the grooming salon is open, Iāve been here twice with my dog & Jared went above & beyond & always provides excellent service. He is very kind & patient with my dog š¶This is one of the smallest Petcoās I have been to. Itās quiet inside & the staff is very friendly. Extremely clean & organized! The only downside right now is the fact that they donāt have anyone in the grooming department until further notice (so I was told) This is so close to home & I enjoy bringing my dog here to walk around & shop.

I took my yellow lab to this PETCO this afternoon to have her nails trimmed. I was told to return in 10 minutes. When I returned to the grooming area, I was told that she fell off the table twice, once while her collar was attached. In other words, she was hanging by her neck!!!Needless to say, I was horrified and the only thing the young man responsible had to say was that it wasnāt his fault that my dog fell off the table. I asked to speak with a manager who was too busy looking at his cellphone while I was trying to explain the incident.I would never step foot in a PETCO again. I would give 0 stars but that wasnāt an option..

Very nice store. It was very clean and orderly. The employees were friendly and professional. This store also has the veterinarian clinic inside. Just make an appointment and you can keep your pet up to date with its shots and meds. The prices are not cheap but in the ballpark.

Just a heads up, if you put the address in Google maps you'll be taken to the entirely wrong location - staff says they always have this issue so I'm not sure why they don't warn first time customers. Other than that, the groomer (Sabrina) was great. It was our first time so she looked at what I had booked, made some recommendations, and I ended up with a less expensive groom. Excellent customer service. My french bulldog came out smelling fresh and clean. I would definitely go back.
