not sure why there are so many bad reviews. actually i do. it’s from people who act like they know what they’re talking about! the smell is average for a pet store. it’s not bad to me. i work around animals due to me being in an animal science program so i’m used to it. people that don’t normally work around them or are around them are going to find it off putting. also from what i’ve seen, all the cages look pretty clean. you also can’t expect them to have super huge cages for the amount of animals they carry. it’s no different from any other pet store. they’re a wonderful place and the workers are pretty nice considering the things they deal with. i’ve had full on conversations with them and they seem delightful. it’s a good little store that is local. props to them!

I wish I could leave no stars, this store is so disgusting, tripping over someone or something in such a small space. The fact that my 3yo said the store stinks is a statement in itself. The tanks, cages are filthy. I am astonished that the animals have survived as long as they have this far. Too many animals/fish in such a small cages. One recommendation is if you have allergies, do NOT GO. How about the fact that the owner has yet to respond to any of their reviews. I had a question regarding some fish, they could not answer my question because they didn't know anything about fish. Her response was "I just clean the tanks " clean?!! They tanks have mold on them. They have not been cleaned since the 10th of Never. I will never step foot near this business.

Absolutely disgusting. The mice were crammed in a cage with pink newborns being squashed and very young ones getting suffocated. There was a dead full size one that looked like he’d been there for a while. The hermit crab crate had zero water. I cried leaving the store:( the animals were all crammed into tiny glass cages. The mice must’ve had 30 plus in them plus the legit brand newbies. I would’ve given her a zero but I wanted to write this. Absolutely horrid and disgusting and should be shut down. No animals should suffer like that. DISGUSTING

My family loves coming to Wild and Wet Pets.. Both locations! We have been customers of theirs since the beginning 😊 I have had the best luck with buying all my son's reptiles there, several fish, hamsters, and our puppy.. All our pets are of quality. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. And they go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. I would highly recommend this store to anyone who is looking to purchase a pet. Thank you for being so wonderful!!

Honestly no clue how this place has such a high rating. This establishment is absolutely disgusting. Their animals are sick and dying in small cages. Robo Hamsters are kept in a .5 gallon container TOGETHER. The smell is rancid as well. I get it is a pet shop and animals have odor but the cages should be clean to the point it doesn’t burn customers lungs. The “No photos without permission” is an automatic sign of abuse. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

this place is seriously sad and disgusting. you walk in and instantly get hit with a rancid smell. every single cage, no matter the animal is small, cramped, dirty and a lot are just stacked on top of the others. it’s really heartbreaking to see. there was an elderly hamster that was incredibly inflamed on the bottom of his body and he was in a cage that was smaller than my hand. ALL of the cages were so small. this is the worst pet store i have ever been to and i hope it gets shut down. these poor animals should not have to suffer like that. i can’t even add any pictures because there is a sign that says “NO pictures without permission “ which should immediately tell someone that the quality of the store is low.

Bought fish from here for my freshwater aquarium. Have had it running for years, regularly check water, change water and filters. One fish died within 2 hours of leaving the store, two more fish were dead within 2 days. No offer for reimbursement or replacement. Never buying fish from here again.

This store is fantastic! Lester and Tina are a pleasure to do business with. We shop there all the time and spend lots of time there. Their animals are well taken care of. Their animals are happy and healthy. We've bought animals from them and plan to buy more. In fact, I was just in there to pay off a tank they special ordered for us and Tina was beyond a joy to deal with, like always. They care about their animals and they even care enough to ask how ours are doing! Absolutely good things to say about this store as well as Lester and Tina.

This pet store is absolutely terrible. All the animals do not seem to be properly cared for at all. The thing that got me were the puppies. They are kept in a small room with cages. Two puppies were outside of cages in the room. All the puppies were different breeds. There was a husky, a Pomeranian, and other breeds. I didn’t see any toys or water out for them. Dirty newspapers on the floor of the room. I believe they were from a puppy mill.

This place is pretty good for a pet store. Everything is fairly clean, the animals are well cared for. I never see anything that looks sick and/or dying so that's a plus. The staff is friendly and the lady I presume is the owner is very knowledgeable about the animals.

I would rather drive to Olean before I gave service to this pet store again! Appalled at the way they do service here. Got 50 fish home and more than half dead by the next day. Not to mention the fish are like, double the price. And the woman wouldn't even pick me out the two fish I wanted? She said, I'll have to charge you extra money.. Everywhere you look there is a rude, sloppy hand written sign, "WARNING, if you hold a puppy and drop it or hurt it we will bring you to court for the vet bill." "No touching puppies unless you are going to make a purchase". "Absolutely NO pictures taken of our animals." "Blah blah blah no kids" " We are watching you". "Don't touch the glass". "NO STEALING, Your on camera signs x500 signs throughout the store.... It's just so ridiculous.. You should NOT have that many signs for one, and two.. show your CUSTOMERS a little respect and trust. They also are not very kid friendly.. I recommend going to any other pet store besides this one.

I really like this store, I recenty got my betta fish, Pebbles, there. They know their stuff, trust me! They got a lot of pets and they takw care of them well. I am hoping to get a hamster there sometime, or a bigger tank for my betta.

This is actually a zero rating, but it wouldn't let me. I went to both locations today. The first location was Olean. I walked in and it was a cluttered mess. I looked past it, and went on to look at the animals. Because that's my favorite thing to do in a pet store. I start looking around, and I saw the hermit crab tank. Not properly set up, at all. There was a dead hermit crab that was without a shell on top right next to an empty water bowl. I told the owner, he went and took the dead crab out and instead of filling the water, just tossed it back into the cage. There were puppies crying in a tiny cage thing, lizards way to big for their tanks. Turtles in disgusting water, with rotten lettuce. Just absolutely horrible living conditions. I almost cried, actually I did cry when I got back out to our vehicle. I knew I probably shouldn't go to their second location in Wellsville, but we set out to check out pet stores in the area, to take a look at fish. So I was hoping the next location would be a little better. I was wrong. They had 26, yes I said 26 parakeets in the same small cage. Then, I'm unsure of the type of bird, but there were 9 of those in an even smaller cage, and they were bigger birds. Their hermit crab cage was just as bad, but nothing dead that I could see. Their gecko tank was big enough for maybe a betta fish. He had dirty water and one hide. Crickets free ranging the tank. Dead crickets in corners. Every single enclosure was absolutely disgusting. In both locations. My mealworms I breed to feed to my gecko have bigger "homes" and better living conditions than these poor animals. For those who say this place is great and gave 5 stars, you really need to educate yourself on animal care. Either that or you are as ignorant as the owners. Shame on you for opening a pet store without the proper education and without giving these innocent animals the proper care. Absolutely disgusted.

They had me arrested too for stealing and rather than talk to me when I tried to find out what was wrong, they started posting about me on their public store web page. Whenever anyone posted supportive comments or reviewed the store after that, they deleted comments and finally disabled reviews. They began calling anyone who disagreed with the public airing of the arrest names- names I cannot even post here. This after I have spent hundreds of dollars over fifteen years at this store. They sometimes have rodent sales but don't allow you to pick out your own pet. They also don't follow Dept of Agr regs. Very disappointed in how they handle this and will stop referring customers.

I always get my fish from this store, because if I get a fish from Wal-Mart, the olean pet store, or anothers around here... I tend to introduce Ick or someother sickness to my fish. The staff is friendly and helpful, and maintain the store very well.

They have a lot of different animals and a big selection of toys and treats for you pet. They even have a lot of medications for your pet. The only down side is the prices are a little on the high side depending on what your looking for. Other than that the staff/owners are very friendly.

Stopped in here for super worms for my bearded dragon after the pet store in olean closed and they started telling me the benefits of feeding her pinky mice once a month since she only eats collard greens and romaine lettuce and super worms for a treat she loves the pinky mouse once a month also we just bought a 1 year old albino python from there and we were able to handle her in store before we bought her and he helped us pick out the stuff we needed for her terrarium and let us know when they were feeding her so we didn’t have to switch up her feeding schedule I get my snake food and bearded dragon treats from here they also have us an informational sheet one proper care for our python these guys are very knowledgeable and friendly I’ll keep going to get all my pet needs

The store is absolutely filthy. Sure, a pet store might have a few messes here and there, but these animals are living in filth. I didn't purchase anything from here because of it. Absolutely disgusting.
