Staff is firendly, willing to assist without being pushy or over the top. As a woman, I don't feel belittled for asking questions, unlike the big box stores... cough HD cough...Store has a great selection of items, so I don't have to travel all the way into Latham or Clifton Park to get what I need for my projects.In-store pickup is also an option here.

Bad! Brought Uintah a screen for repair...sent out to their other store...they lost the screen...three months later they made me a screen....it is flimsy. It bends and bo clips to hold in place...sent back out and waiting for return....they are suppose to redo. I am so upset and lost the whole summer without my door screen! Now fall is approaching......

They play fast and loose with prices on things (that hasn't changed). Prices below items are often missing or not correct and Every time the register rings up a price more than the tag said it was, they have an excuse. Today I gave up and left my items on their counter and went elsewhere to buy them.

Awful.. bought a 700$ chainsaw they never started it before they sold it.. does not run they refuse to take it back and said go to colonize.. where colonize played even more games then Waterford.

I checked their online inventory for the product I needed, and it said they had it in stock, but when I went to the store, I couldn't find it. So I found an attendant to help me, and he also couldn't find it. Then he explained that they owned 2 stores and the inventory was merged together on their website, so more than likely, it was at the other store. Confusing and misleading to say the least.

Dang I like this place and boy have they improved the establishment. I go here over home depot every chance I get. Staff is friendly and helpful. Store is clean and organized. They have an excellent selection of spray paint.

This is *the* local hardware shop, and it's got a great staff of knowledgeable, helpful folks. They have a decent selection of tools and items, and chances are good you'll find what you need without having to truck over to a big box shop. They do screen and small engine repair, and even have a good selection of craft sodas. It's one of 4 local branches, so they've got some depth to the stock, and can call one of the other stores if this branch is missing what you need and you've got time.

i visited the store about 10 minutes before they closed on Saturday February 15 so i wanted to be quick not to to hold up the staff from closings. the young man behind the counter was friendly and helped me find everything i needed. several months ago before they expanded the store i was there cheking out and the gentlemen in front of me was given a veteran's discount. at that point i didnt know ace did that so being a veteran i asked also. and have taken advantage of it several times. Saturday i was told they could not give the veterans discount. because their computers where not connected to ace and the store margins where to low to offer it. the ace web site says location may vary. so i guess it was nice while it lasted. i dont know how other vets feel but when a business offers a vet discount and not just on veteran's holidays it makes me feel like my service means something to someone that the sacrifices of my brothers and sister is appreciated. i support and frequent alot of business with or without a discount and if a business doesn't offer any discount that is fine. i normally wouldn't make a review. i guess this time i wanted to. it was the way they made me feel when i was leaving the man not give the discount talking about the stores low margins said that because the computers where not connected to ace. this store wouldn't get any thing from corporate for giving me a 10% discount. so i guess with low margins and no reimbursement..they can't give something because there not getting anything

We bought a faucet from here earlier this evening and when my husband tried to screw the water hose on the pipe connected to the faucet twisted like it was made of wax. We've replaced lord knows how many faucets over the years and I've never seen anything like it. We sent our son to get a refund and he incorrectly told them it was like that when we opened it, which is his mistake, but they told him there was nothing they could do, even though I would certainly hope what we received was a faulty unit.That's their prerogative, and I understand it's probably a pain to deal with the manufacturer for them but when you're a smaller hardware store I would think an emphasis should be placed on customer service. We went to Wal Mart and bought essentially the same faucet for $30 less and didn't have any issues.It's great to have a little local place when you need something quick or inexpensive, but if you're expecting to spend more than $50 I would certainly recommend driving the extra 10 minutes to Home Depot. At least then if you have to return something it won't be an odyssey.

Poor customer service at the counter. Be sure to keep your receipt someplace safe.They do not give store credit or accept returns without a receipt.Good place in an emergency, not so good for a home repair project. Would like to support local business, too bad.

My fiance Rae and I have quickly become regulars at Hatchet Hardware of Waterford. We love this store and the owner, Scott. He has helped us so many times with quick fixes, parts and recommendations to keep our vacation rental operating at its fullest. He's one of the "above and beyond" kind of people and looks to help however he can. I especially love the #shoplocal section of the store. We can't wait to have another location opened near our home in Niskayuna.

Received a bad copy of a key. The teeth were fine, but the key will not fit in the lock to be able to even turn it. This only cost $2.66 so I'm not going to return it, but want others to be aware.The guy ahead of me was also having problems and the woman working the counter insisted it was his locks. Nope. It's your equipment or the key copier doesn't know what they're doing. I came here years back and had a copy made with no problems so 3 stars it is.

I've been going to Phillips Hardware since they opened at least 10 years ago the manager there her name is Tammy very nice girl very knowledgeable about all the products that they have in the store and the help are very good I meant help tremendously they may not have everything like the big box stores but they are a home town hardware store sometimes that's better than anywhere else

The new Hatchet Hardware is a well stocked store with helpful and friendly staff. A big improvement over the previous A. Philips store. Recommended.

It is now ace hardwear and no one know what they are doing told me i had to order my water hose that they dont carry them so i walked around the store and sure enuf there was my lines i was looking instock and there was 7 of them come on shut it down
