Garden State Koi ROCKS!!!!! Do not waste your time dealing with any other company for your pond/ waterfall/ water feature needs! TRUST me, you will not be disappointed with this company.We had a vision to add a waterfall to our property. After speaking with the fabulous team at GSK, and sharing a few emails, we set up a time to meet with Tom, the owner for an estimate. He came to our home and listened to our wants, needs and concerns. He took the time needed to discuss everything with us. He sat down at my Dining room table and drew out a rendering of our future "pond-less waterfall" feature.We were given a date that construction would start and sure enough it all went off without a hitch.Tom and his main guy Tim came over a couple days before the actual start of the job to go over last minute details and to make sure we were all on the same page.Tim and his crew showed up and worked hard. They are all super friendly, responsible and hard working. It took 3.5 days to complete the job. We could not be any happier with the end result!Our property is located in Upstate NY and basically we live in a rock filled quarry in the "Gunks" so the digging is extremely intense, basically it's all rock with very little dirt. The area was located on a rocky slope that needed to be excavated of rocks first in order to build the waterfall.We sourced all of our own rocks from our property as we wanted the waterfall to look as natural to the area as it possibly could. We excavated some 20-25 boulders from our woods. We also wanted to add a "Bubbling Rock" feature to the mix...My husband owns a jack hammer and so he drilled a 2" diameter hole into a giant boulder and the GSK team swooped in and did all the rest!It has created a ZEN zone like no other at our Home. It's my morning Coffee spot as well as my Happy Hour Spot. The frogs are all starting to find it and we are sad at the thought that it will soon need to be winterized.If you are considering a water feature in your yard, have ZERO hesitations to move forward with this company!!! They are simply the BEST!!!!We could not be any happier with our waterfall!!! Thank you Tom, Tim and crew of GSK for making my dreams come true!

Tom Smith took the time to answer all of our questions, and truly rocked our world 2 years ago with our beautiful pond that Tim & crew built. Tom Sandstrom & Kori cleaned opened my pond today. My son needed a home for his turtles. He has one 20 yr old, two 12 year old, and one 7 year old red ear sliders. Two nature centers refused them because the turtles are domesticated and wouldn’t survive in their center. GSK to the rescue. We love the new turtle home and now have an additional koi pond and waterfall! The best!

Tom Smith and the Garden State Koi guys and gals are like family to me. I have known been a satisfied customer there for over a dozen years. Tom and his professional team turned what was a very unkempt, rough, frequently dry, natural pond, into a beautiful 80 X 100 living showplace that is by all counts, the hallmark and focal point of our property. Willow Pond is surrounded by a swath of Cedar trees, blessed with a rich variety of land plants & water vegetation, home to all kinds of wildlife and inhabited by a gorgeous array of wonderful Koi fish, who are clearly the main attraction and the stars of the show. As for maintenance, (very important) Tom Sandstrom and his crews do a great job. Always there when needed. Good guys. Summing up, Willow Pond is a resting place,.a fun place and, above all, a gathering place. We love it. .

Last week we went to the store right before closing to look at their ponds and DIY kits, Ethan was soo helpful, attentive, and nice we decided to buy the 6x8 DIY Kit and now we have a pond! Beyond happy, still need to add goodies to the pond and landscape but wanted to put in my review. Extremely happy!

My favorite place! I love this place so much. My husband and I went 3 days in a row because I kept adding to my yard. We are even building a pond! Everyone here js extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There are so many different styles of ponds and water features and koi fish. They sell plants and outdoor art.

Devasting. We purchased almost 1000$ worth of koi for fathers day to give my pops. After a few days the pond water wasn't very clear and my father stopped by to have water tested and to see how he can clear up the water. Lady at the counter suggested he buy a chemical and to use 3/4 of the bottle. After using the chemical within 8 hours the first fish was dead. After that every 2 hours a fish died until they were all gone. I'm sure someone at this store knows what they are talking about except for the lady who helped my parents and killed our fish. Careful who you trust

Disappointed and disgusted. We had booked an appt to have someone help locate a leak in our pond. Was quoted $399 for 3 visits to attempt to locate the problem. The person arrived at our home and mentioned the cost was $999. We declined service at that price of course. When we questioned him about the price he was quoting and the price at booking he stated “ the girl we spoke to doesn’t work there anymore”. We tried to call to understand where the miscommunication came from but got no answers, no explanations. Terrible customer service.

Took about an hour n a half to get to. I got there at 5pm and was meet by owner as i pulled into parking lot. He was telling me he was closed. Don't ask him any questions. He was closed! So Rude, I'd drive another 2/3 hrs to find another place then go back there.

The gentleman behind the counter was so knowledgeable and patient in answering all my questions. He never tried to sell me anything I didn't need. He advised me how to keep my fish alive over the winter and how to reopen the pond in the spring. I definitely plan to return in the Spring to restock my annual plants.

S T A Y A W A Y ! ! ! I hired this company to design and install a backyard pond and waterfall for me. The design was detailed and extensive. Initially, I was thrilled as they seemed responsive. The issues started shortly after I gave them money. They became very slow to respond, when they eventually started the job, they would consistently not show up when they said they would be at my home. The work was shoddy, I have had constant problems with the pumps not working, the liner ended up having hole, the waterfall rocks were placed in n unsafe way and have shifted, putting my kids/guests at risk and getting them to fix any of it was a NIGHTMARE!! The list of issues goes on and on and on...I spent more than $50,000 with this company and I am very unhappy,. If I could start over, I would avoid this company at all costs. Enter at your own risk and financial peril !!!!!!UPDATE (in response to company posting): YES, I am a customer of yours and YES, you treated me sooo poorly that I felt compelled to let others know. And as I read some of the other reviews, there are others that have experienced similar problems. It's amazing how quickly you responded to my negative review, yet getting you to address my problems AFTER you had my money was an exercise in frustration!!

We go there every Friday in July if I can for Free Fish Friday. I originally found out about this place by doing a Pike county Pennsylvania pond tour to see other ponds that were made by garden State koi. Some things are way out of my price range but I get a lot of plants here and they have a large variety of chemicals when needed for your pond. I've also brought a lot of friends with me when I come on free fish Friday. Most of them didn't know about this place either. One of my favorite places to visit. I would love to have a pond like their newest and biggest addition. Just sit in my little she shed and talk to the fish all day ;-)They're great with questions so if you have any make sure you ask them.

gsk dug my main pond 21 years ago. thereafter they installed a smaller pond and a stream. the work was beautifully done, with great personal service and care. in the years past they have provided all maintenance and we have been delighted as with the installation. two weeks ago a pump was out. i contacted the head of customer care as i was worried about the ice freezing over and my fish being at risk. he was away for the week but said he’d see to it. at 8 am the next morning a crew was at my house and replaced the pump. this was not unusual or surprising. it’s how they do.

DisgruntledI have not seen into the water of my pond since using Garden State Koi for maintenance - nor have I seen a single fish where there had been many! It is now a forever mossy/murky mud pool.The service paid for has not been provided. After multiple complaints a technician came recently for no more than 10 minutes and dumped some dark pond cover in the pond. Never returned or followed up to see that it did nothing and the algea shows right through in an hour, and it returns to it's muddy brown. And no, it hadn't rained in many days - that is not the issue. In addition, horribly lax on returning calls. Since the owner won't return my call to discuss the issue, and I've paid in advance....buyer beware. Disappointing.Nice office staff and sympathetic on the phone - but doesn't translate to any results. I give up with them.I must apologize to my previous provider as I can now appreciate the work they did on the pond. We used to enjoy many hours at the pond looking at the koi and flowers, but now dread many hours on the phone trying to get results, and anywhere near back to what we had.
