Made an appt 1 a week in advance, took off from work to be told 30 min before the time my dog was going in the groomer was not coming in and they had no availability with any other groomers at the Wantagh location Don’t waste your time .

The groomer Tom always accommodates us. Our dog had surgery on his leg and standing for a long time is too much so he does it in 2 sessions. Our dog comes home and is happy and not exhausted and stressed. I always recommend Tom/Petco to everyone.

If you care about your dogs back and neck. DO NOT GO TO ALLISON. When handing the leash over to Allison it got caught under my dog's stomach and rather than fixing it she dragged him into the room. I asked if she could fix the leash, she ignored me. When on the table my dog was CHOKING AND COUGHING till I couldn't stand to hear it I asked her to loosen the neck collar a little bit. While the neck collar was too tight the back harness (rope) was so loose that it fell and got tangled between my dogs legs. She said she couldn't loosen the neck (never fixed the back) and that it would be better if I did not watch. That wasn't going to happen after watching him get apathetically dragged to the grooming station... After my dogs nails were BARELY cut. I asked for her to go back and cut a little more she said she cannot do that because they "were over grown and she didn't want to cut the vein". My dog has white nails... you can see the quick (the vein in the nail). His nails are STILL much longer than the vein. After telling the lady at the end that I was unhappy with my service, I received an apathetic sorry, and nothing more. I left because I didn't want a refund I wanted to speak to the manager but she was never called. The manager on the phone was kind. I was offered a refund if I came back in with my dog. Thats nice, but I don't care about the money I care about the mistreatment, and I care for my SENIOR dogs physical health. I'm glad i didn't sign the waiver... considering my dog was choking and coughing the whole way home, and NOW have a vet appointment for next week. TOM WAS THE BEST, never an issue, never choked or mishandled my dog , always kind and polite.

Julianne did a fantastic job grooming my 2 puppies, as usual! She always treats my dogs with love and care and they look perfect each time. I highly recommend this store as the staff is extremely friendly, and I definitely recommend Julianne

We love Petco grooming, our puppy included. All the staff are sweet, but our pup is taken care of by Javier & our boy loves him! Pricing is affordable, & they can usually squeeze us in last minute (which is pretty often).

Made an appointment online went in with my dog and a kid working there told me he can't take my dog because he has school right after work. No phone calls, no emails, nothing, they made me come down there to find this information out and when I complained he offered to shave my dog down completely if he has the time. This is absolutely insane

Javier and his crew are the best. We go out of our way to bring Scotty to the Wantagh location from where we live in Floral Park because he absolutely loves to see Javier.

Tom is always excellent with my dog Baron, who can be challenging at times. Tom works with him to make him very comfortable.
