I had such a wonderful experience with my purchase through Matthews. The gentleman who assisted me, Adam, truly went above and beyond to help me as much as he did. Buying a new vehicle can be such a difficult and tedious task, and I'm so grateful that I had Adam to guide me through the process. As well, the other employees at the dealership were helpful, kind, and quite tolerant of a toddler running around. Trustworthy, dependable, excellent service!!!

I've never had an experience as amazing and seamless as I did with Matthews Auto. Specifically Volkswagen and Chris Skinner.I'm from Canada and I was driving through New York on my way to Tennessee when my check engine came on in my VW ( along with other lights ) I did a quick google search to find the closest Volkswagen Dealer to me and called them and Chris told me I could come in and have my car checked out. I waited in the waiting room where they offer complimentary coffee, water and popcorn. All of the staff passing by the waiting area were extremely friendly and helpful. Chris had my car checked out fairly quickly and we found out that it was going to take time and parts to fix. I gave Chris the information for my warranty company and he did everything else from there, including organizing my rental car. I was stuck in Binghamton that night due to a rental car shortage and staff recommended places to stay and eat. They drove me to my hotel, and picked me up in the morning to bring me back to the dealership and wait for a rental. When the rental was available there wasn't a driver available to take me so Chris himself took me to get it. While I was in Tennessee they found additional issues with my car and Chris contacted me to basically just get the go ahead to fix it because he'd already done all of the investigative work to make sure it was covered under warranty. I was able to spend additional time with family while I waited for the repairs. When the car was ready getting it back was also seamless. Chris came into VW on a Saturday to ensure everything was smooth for me. I transferred my things from the rental to my car and drove home. They dealt with all of the paperwork and getting my rental back. My car works better and sounds 100% better than it did before. I am so grateful for Chris, Matthews auto, their other employees and all of the people along the way. This place truly turned my nightmare into a great experience.I would seriously consider driving to Vestal, NY to buy my next VW because of my experience here.Thank You for EVERYTHING !!Amanda from Canada

If you are considering purchasing a car in the vestal area, DO NOT buy from Matthew’s on the parkway in Vestal NY. Absolute worst dealership I have ever encountered, and I can guarantee you will drive off with car issue. Please, please, please do not buy a car from Matthew’s AutoThey sent me and my wife home in a car that needed fixing, and they knew it. We went back, they had us wait 8 hours for a call back just to say the issue wasn’t an actual issue. We were back again in a couple days with ANOTHER check engine light for the same problem that they didn’t fix (shocker). Another 8 hour day wasted, while they forced us to pay for a rental we never wanted or should have had.And finally their driver, whom i’ve never met in my life, brought me to the car rental place, and told me to go inside to pickup the keys to our rental and LEAVE MY 7 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER ALONE WITH HIM! Absolutely inappropriate and unprofessional behavior from all staff from the sales to the service department. I have no idea why he’d offer time alone with my baby, but that’s just how they’re trained over there. One final time, please never buy a car from these scam artists.

Drove from over an hour away for an appointment to check out a car. They had already sold it, but don't worry they offered to show me a car with almost twice as many miles that's listed for the same price. What a joke. Call people, don't waste their time.

I spent several hours today with members of the Matthews team and have to say that it was the best car shopping experience I have ever had. Dalton, Cole, & Brad were amazing. They bent over backwards to make sure I left happy. Going in today I never expected to leave with a great car, but they made that happen for me. It was my pleasure to work with the entire team today.

Oh pah...lease! Do not believe all the glowing reviews here. They most likely are being posted by Matthews' sales-creeps and employees. This dealership, used or new, is one of the worst if not THE WORST in the country. Horrible rip-off service of the most classic kind. If you can, drive 10,000 miles to avoid Matthews....they really can't get any worse.

Don't waste your time here. Call matthews chevy for a chevy problem and paint get run around finay get service manager on phone yup just take to body shop which also shocker is matthews get there lady says we don't do walk ins make an appt for 3 weeks from now even tho service manager said take down and let them look at lady wad very rude at body shop told her I would take my warranty issue to a real dealer they should probably stop buying so many dealers and make everyone on same page on one's they own not my first terrible experience but will Def be my last!

He was amazing he knew everything about the car we were interested in and went above and beyond to get us into it with the payment we wanted. Horrible experience all around with Matthews Kia, both in Vestle, and in Clay. Was sent a email stating the price of a vehicle only to find out later after I had them save the vehicle for me that they changed the price and they wouldn’t honor the price that they sent to me. Then I completed their online trade-in evaluation and sent him pictures of my vehicle and received an estimate on my trade-in value. I was assured that the trade and quote I received, would be in the ballpark of what they would be offering me… only to be offered almost $7000 less when I arrived at the dealership. And then the sales person tried tacking on a $2500 reconditioning fee onto my bill to make me pay for cosmetic issues with the vehicle… these guys are total con artist don’t trust them!!!

Matthews Auto Collision let me drive my car off their lot in unsafe condition. I would never recommend their service to anyone I care about. Their service led to further damage to my vehicle. The auto shop didn’t fully inspect my car after my accident. They also failed to test drive my car after having it in their auto shop for over a month.I was horrified by the customer service I received. Joe Pickard, who is the service manager at Matthews Auto Collision, was extremely rude and admitted to me that they failed to test drive and fully inspect my car. If this horrible service is not fixed by them, the next step will be them speaking with my lawyer.

I have been going through a lot for these past few days. I was scheduled for an appointment yesterday, but I had to get my car towed to their shop and it wouldn’t have gotten there until after my appointment time. My car was still full serviced. The team worked on my vehicle up to the last few minutes they were suppose to leave. Matt was AWESOME. Very kind and overall just cheerful. Just him being who he is made what I’m going through less stressful. Thank you all at Matthews shop for your help and and support yesterday.

He asked what we were looking for and gave us exactly that, when we were ready. We had to buy a car on the drop of the dime, due to certain circumstances. We went on a Friday night, Ray helped us. We went back on Saturday morning to follow up and Ray had the day off and directed us to Jeremy. Jeremy took over for Ray and treated us as his own customer and really helped us out. We chose a car and Tom the finance manager helped us get into this beautiful car. Eljawon A is one of the best sales people I have had the pleasure to work with. I came in and I was stand-offish because I knew that it was going to be incredibly different now because covid had changed things.I wanted a Tucson, and I wasn't about to pay that price but the car I ended up in is absolutely beautiful. I don't need an SUV/CUV. I just wanted one to keep up with the joneses. But damn if my Elantra with the convivence package isn't zippy.So many features on this car that my 2021 SE Kona didn't have.Back to Mr. Eljawon. Man, firstly I forgot how much car people zip around the dealership. I most definitely appreciate his willingness to get it done in a timely fashion and make sure me the customer was ok. But I was more worried he needed to eat, and make sure to stay hydrated.What a lovely person though, it's nice to be put at ease by someone. I remarked that he felt like my brother, because it was easy to have a conversation with him. Which is helpful for someone who hates the process of car buying/leasing.I also want to thank Mike C and Krystal C as well.Professional to a t. Thanks yall. Above and beyond as always.( Give Eljawon a lunch just for dealing with me, ha ha )

If you are shopping for a new car or need repairs to your current, I highly recommend Matthews. The entire staff is friendly and goes beyond to help you out. I recently had my Kia Sportage in shop for minor repairs from the garage hitting my car 🤭! Corey was able to quickly fix the damage and he was also very courteous. I highly recommend the team!!

In October 20th 2022 my wife and I purchased a 2020 pathfinder from Matthews with 46,000 miles on it. During our purchase negotiations we brought 3 concerns about the vehicle to the attention of the salesperson. Issue 1 was a whining noise coming from the power steering unit, issue 2 was the AC did not appear to be blowing as cold as it should, and issue 3 was a slow pressure leak from one of the tires. The car was then brought into their repair shop before purchasing and we were assured that both the power steering system and AC system were 100% ok and no issues were discovered. The tire was re mounted and has not been an issue however less than 30 days after buying the vehicle we noticed the power steering reservoir was empty and there was a large leak coming from the distribution system by the drivers side tire. Matthews informed us that this was not their problem even though they had previously “investigated” and assured us there was no issue. Now that it has started to get warmer it is also very noticeable that the AC does not work as it should. This is due to another large leak causing the AC system to be unable to hold fluid and will also be a very costly repair. The local mechanic that I have taken it to for both of these issues has made it very clear that these issues were not hard to locate and that had the car actually been looked over the Matthews mechanic should have seen them very clearly.

I was just there today, 10/4/22, for service on my VW Beetle - airbag recall. The ease of scheduling the appointment, to getting my car in and out in less time than expected, along with the courtesy provided by everyone I came into contacted with was TOP NOTCH! When I brought it in, I forgot to ask them if they could put air in one of my tires. When the car was ready, they had done that, too, without me even asking them!My son asked me how my appointment went and I replied, "Their Service Department is IMPECCABLE!" Now, because of how well I was treated, I'll schedule my servicing with them from now on! Five stars!!

I was passing through the area on my way to Canada when I had an issue with my heat shield while on the highway. Due to a recent snowstorm most of the towns along I-81 were without power. I was able to find the service center information on my phone and came in without an appointment. The staff including Service advisor Brian, was very courteous, took my vehicle in right away, fixed the problem and had me on my way in ~30 min. Appreciate their kindness, clearly explaining the problem (took me in the shop to show me) and getting it taken care of quickly. Great service, clean shop, open and large waiting area.

Purchased a 2020 Nissan pathfinder just over a month ago. Since purchasing I have realized the piece where you open the hatch is broken, and came broken. no big deal. The drivers window can no longer be rolled down after using it MAYBE twice because it doesn’t roll back up. Figured well at least nothing major. It rained a couple days ago and I realized something had been leaking from my car onto the driveway probably since I have bought the vehicle(Multiple spots on driveway). Come to find out the power steering fluid is leaking out and the reservoir is already completely empty from the leak. Very frustrating to purchase a fairly new vehicle from a well known dealership just over a month ago and have so many issues.

In the past I feel I have been treated fairly at Matthews but as of today I am disappointed and infuriated. My wife took her vehicle in to have her wheel baring looked at and possibly replaced. The technician working on her vehicle quoted her on a price AND decided that she needed new brakes, rotors, and tires. Thankfully a member of my family had worked as a technician in a dealership for many years before moving up to manager in another auto business, and recognized that the front brakes were at 85% and rear brakes were at 100% the rotors were also in good working order. Regardless, of if the technician made a mistake or was flat out trying to up-sell my wife I can safely say I will no longer be using matthews as my place of service.

Thank you Lee Brown, Sales. I cant say enough good things about my experience with Matthews Auto Group. I have leased my last three vehicles from Matthews Auto and I keep going back to them for one reason — Lee. We have many car dealerships in my hometown, with any type vehicle that you could want, but I drive over an hour to get to Matthews because of the outstanding service they have offered to me.
