We went to the shelter originally to meet a different dog but after some confusion regarding what dogs are safe for what scenarios, we were able to meet a beautiful 7 yr old Husky named Balto. While he can be a handful and is still working on his abandonment issues, he has really taken to our family.I want to shout-out the team caring for him during his time in the shelter. He is such a a sweet and funny boy. We couldn't imagine our family without him.Thank you for all you do!

Unfortunately I had to have my sweet girl kitty cremated due to cancer. The older female clerk wasn't too caring nor nice but the woman who took my cat was kind and compassionate. I will say it stinks to high hell in the hallway. As soon as I opened the door it hit me and I felt nauseous instantly. I wish I could post more stars but a bit of cleaning would be helpful.

Horrible adopting system my dog is scare of everything until she get used to others and because she was scared when she met holly they said it wasn’t a good match which i think is ridiculous my baby is turning 2 on the 22 and holly is only 2 month . I don’t think that was a bad meet it takes time. Also they had a terrible attitude and the two ladies in the front look like they hate being there , like life stinks . Poor litter babies in there i dont think this ladies like animals at all

Let us bond with a kitten for 30-45 mins. Gave us an application to fill out and bring in the next day. Put pending adoption on the kitten. When we came back in the next day they had gotten rid of the kitten from right under our feet. The lady’s response was “you didn’t put in an application” but was rushing us out the door after letting us bond with the kitten stating “we close soon” and asked we returned with the application the next day. Will never do business with this poorly ran place. I feel sorry for those animals stuck in there with those people.

The two ladies upfront should NOT be greeting people. No personable at all . Almost to the point they were rude

Really appreciated the low income affordable neuter/spay option you used to offer. I just saved two cats and was hoping to utilize the program :’(I give a 3 stat because you’re still a no kill shelter which is nice but you could save more animals and prevent over population of baby kittens by bringing back the option for those who find and take in strays. Maybe one day you’ll reimplement.

Adopted a dog from them. The staff is very friendly even though they were extremely busy at the time. The prices are very reasonable. They even gave us some dry food, wet food, some pee pads, a leash, and a harness for him. They need adopters so check them out. They have a lot of cats I guess and the ones in their lobby were super sweet.

Went into the Humane Society to possibly adopt a cat. found a beautiful cat the cat got along well with my kids. I proceeded to inquire more information about the cat and the secretary had a little bit of an attitude when finally getting information in filling out the paperwork I was informed that I couldn’t adopt until I had my landlords phone number which I understand but again the secretary was very dry and seem bothered by, me and my kids presents there . I hope she’s just having a bad day because I feel bad, if a cat can’t find a home because the poor attitude of the staff

They were a god send to my family at the time of my loss for my 🐕 lady. Very professional and reasonable for her to be cremated..

I've gotten both my cats from them. Great environment to choose and interact with the cats and pick your new friend.

I filled out an application for a dog. Simba. Beautiful dog that has some minor problems. Was called the next day to schedule a meet and greet. I arrived, and spent an hour with the dog and the staff. Everything went great. Scheduled a 2nd meet, because Simba would need a few meets before being released, and I understood that. Went home, and got a call an hour later, followed by 3 more calls, basically interrogating me on my application. I filled out truthfully. Then they say you can't adopt that dog and don't come back. I didn't argue, I simply said thank you have a nice day. I was able to find a beautiful dog on craigslist later that day, picked him up, and it's been great. 2 days later I get another phone call from Stevens swan asking me if I'm still interested in Simba. I would be but, I had already gotten one. Very rude, and turned down a good home. I hope Simba finds a fire er home, but she will need someone with a lot of patience and training.

I have two incidents with this place. The first one being when my cat ran away, I never found her. But I called them in case anyone dropped her off at first they were nice. But never got and update. Next is more recent. I put in an applications for jasmine one of the pups available. No phone call no update nothing. Tried calling when they opened phone Saud their closed, so we don't answer the phone even when closed to the public. All I wanted to know was if she had been adopted or not. Emailed them have yet to receive and email. For all your potential adopters whether they get the dog or not still be professional and let people know. May be my last time trying to adopt from here. Too many hoops

Went to adopt a cat and when we got there they were rude and when we filled out the paperwork for adoption and gave it to them they said they would call us and let us know that we could pick the cat up, couple days go by and just found out today that they either didn't call our landlord or couldn't get a hold of the landlord and had the cat adopted by another family. They didn't call any of us to let us know something was wrong.

Great facility! Awesome, caring employees. They care very deeply about the pets in their care. They offer rabies clinics at a small fee, at several different times throughout the year. Check the website or give them a call. They can help with almost any related animal questions you have. If they don't know, they will find out for you. They have many animals for adoption to good homes.

Liked the idea I could check out the dogs. Didn't like the fact that I was told I had to bring in my other 2 dogs for a meet with the new pup. Finding a new pup was an awful experience with every place we went to.

Adopted my dog 3 weeks ago, and she has has to go back to the vet for a second time. She had kennel cough, and boils between her toes. But! Their vet said she was perfectly healthy, and they have no obligation to help. I will never adopt there again. Money is better spent helping my dog get help from true professionals.

I got a kitten from there because they were having a half off their normal prices. The girl that took us back didn't talk much I just said what kittens I wanted to see and she handed them to me. She just told me the kittens name and whether it was female or male. The girls up front were really helpful with filling out the adoption application and answering all my questions. The only thing is when I took my kitten to the vet she was not feeling very well and found out she has a little bit of a cold. Now that she is on some medicine she is acting like her old self and playing. She is a very sweet and loving kitten. Glad we got her

Went here to adopt a loving cat with my sister, the cat walked right up to my sister, she went to adopt him and the woman behind the counter was the rudest women I have met in my life! It was almost like she didn’t want the cat to go to a loving home. I understand that they want to make sure they are going to a good home but after we left my sister called to have them get a hold of her landlord they didn’t even answer the phone with a greeting it was “yea” and rudely interupted after my sister was explaining who she was like “yea who cares, what do you want”. This is a great organization but maybe they need to be more specific with the staff they hire. My sister faced a recent loss of her kitty and wanted to fill that with a new loving cat from Steven-Swan, but I guess the lady didn’t want to provide that for her.

Steven Swan was amazing! The people there were so courteous and precise in their information and had a lot of knowledge of the animals! The animals are well taken care of. I did not find a dog when I went up there, but I know if I go up there again I will find my forever fur baby.

If I could leave a 0 I would. Drove 2 hrs to meet Duke, a gsd in 100+ temps. Meet went well. After telling me I could leave with him if meet went well, she now says you'll need to come back a second and third time! I reminded her of our conversation the previous day and she went to speak to young man who brought Duke out with me. In the heat, with my severe asthma, I started to experience a medical emergency. No aid was offered; some water, a cold cloth or allowing me to remain in the ac. Not only did she not care or offer aid, she told me to go back outside. I was afraid I was going to faint and she again rudely told me to go outside, it would be another 20 minutes! I didn't have 20 minutes as I was feeling faint. So I left with heat exhaustion but Duke failed to get the loving home he deserves. Big fail. Annette should not be there. She doesn't care about other human beings or clearly finding good homes for the animals!

Well honestly it was really really dirty there and felt like the dogs should have been more better taken care of. I think they need more volunteers to help keep the place clean in the dog areas. The place is better than animals living on the streets but as an animal lover I just think if your working there give it all you got 110% because those animals need it. The people we encountered were very rude and not helpful. Short one word statements and felt like we were bothering them. Very hurt for how we had been treated because if they would be more polite and appeasing people just might adopt more. Idk bad experience for a first time visit.

We adopted a dog from them about 2-3 weeks ago and he's such a sweet puppy. They failed to mention that he is not good with children and in result has bitten my daughter on more than one occasion, each leaving marks. Along with that, they did not disclose that he had been brought back to the shelter for fighting with other dogs. I found this out after calling them a few days after bringing him home. I would not recommend adopting from them.

My mom and i have adopted 3 cats from this humane society, we came in today to adopt another one and bring them into our loving home. Our cat Hazel, who is 7, that we have right now refuses to go to the vet, she claws us. But she is completely healthy, has all of her shots. They would NOT let us adopt another cat just because she hasn’t been to the vet recently. Considering there are over 50 cats there that need loving homes, I find it absolutely appalling that they would refuse us, considering we have gotten 3 cats from their humane society for over 20 years. I feel they do not care about finding these animals loving homes. Not to mention the staff is rude.
