Super cute, cozy place! Love the nice bathroom and we appreciated the coffee and donuts before we hit the road in the morning.Only minor issue was that our room had no electrical outlets for chargers etc (they were all being used by the a/c unit, fridge etc), so we had to unplug the lamp to charge our phone. There were charging ports but they weren't working for us...and we had to use the bathroom outlet to charge another item....inconvenient but not the end of the world. Thank you!

Cozy, clean half cabin rooms. I so loved the personal touches and real furniture. It felt very homey. It is evident that someone put a lot of thought and effort in creating these spaces. The shower was one of the best I've ever experienced while traveling. We also loved the addition of a Bluetooth speaker in the room. The fresh baked goods and coffee in the common room in the morning were delicious and very welcome! Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Having lived in the Adirondacks in the 70s and 90s, and for close to 50 years having made several dozens of trips to places throughout the region – Saranac lake, Lake Placid, Inlet, Old Forge, Long Lake, Raquette Lake, and many others – I’ve come to conclude that Tupper Lake is my favorite Adirondack community of them all. It is a mecca for paddlers, hikers, mountain bikers, nature lovers, and even the night life in this rustic mountain town will surprise the uninitiated visitor.Over 100 years ago, Tupper Lake became the epicenter of logging in the Adirondacks, and the locals, many of whom are descended from those early loggers, still pride themselves on the town’s “lumberjack” image. This is quite apparent when visiting the town’s bars, restaurants, and gathering places. There’s no shortage of tall tale, Paul Bunyan type stories when engaging the locals. For those seeking lodging in Tupper Lake, it’d be folly not to consider the Faust Motel, just a stone’s throw from the Raquette River Brewing beer hall. The beer hall is easily the most popular place for people – locals and tourists alike – to congregate and have a good time drinking good beer brewed right on the premises. And because there are food trucks almost permanently parked there, there’s also great pizza and barbeque. The rooms at the Faust Motel are clean and very reasonably priced, but it’s not the motel itself that deserves the five-star review – it’s the owners themselves. About five years ago when I stayed there, Mark rolled in on a tractor and dumped off a big load of hardwood, and later that night about twelve of us from different rooms sat around the fire until late at night, drinking beer and having a great time. I’m not sure if Mark still does this, but it’s a remarkable and generous accommodation that makes the stay in Tupper Lake even more memorable. But it was last Friday’s stay at the Faust Motel that really set this place apart from anywhere else I’ve ever stayed. Later at night, I’d perhaps had a couple too many down the road at the Woodsmens Tavern where I rode my ebike. Weaving and wobbling on the way back to the motel I faceplant crashed hard on the pavement, got pretty bloodied up, and lost my cell phone. Of course, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do this, but Suzanne was kind and patient enough to find my phone for me (I guess by calling it) and mail it to me! And this after my forgetting to leave a tip and bloodying up her pillowcase and not making me buy her a new pillowcase!A clean and affordable room makes for a nice stay; friendly, welcoming, and accommodating people make the stay extra special. Five Faustian stars!

The staff was wonderful polite and extremely helpful. The rooms are beautiful and well kept. The bathrooms are extremely clean . And the showers are wonderful. I could stayed in there for days . They all have shampoo conditioner and body wash in case you forgot yours . In the morning the staff made sure to set aside 2 donuts which my boyfriend loved as he is a fan of washboard donuts. I will definitely be booking a room again

What a gem! We stayed at the Faust Motel recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are comfy, well-maintained, and clean. They have fresh coffee and donuts every morning, which is pretty much the perfect way to start a day. Suzanne is very sweet and made us feel at home. She even made a point to find out what type of donuts our children liked and then had them waiting for us the next morning. It’s clear they care about people enjoying themselves and feeling well taken care of. We hope to go back for another relaxing, restful stay!

Stayed here after a 3 day canoe trip and it was the perfect end to that. The cabins are beautifully renovated and very comfortable, even the towels in the bathroom were cute and luxe. Mark, one of the owners, was super nice! He also owns the Raquette River Brewery (basically next door) and made sure we were able to get a table for dinner. Highly recommend popping over there for drinks and food from the food trucks. Afterwards Mark had a fire pit going at the motel and was very friendly in inviting us to hang out.Really great experience, stay here if you're in Tupper Lake.

Our car broke down on our way to Lake Placid and we were towed into Tupper Lake to Counter's Garage. They recommended Faust Motel just down the road. We were in a bit of a bind, but Mark had a room available and met us to check in. The rooms were clean and updated, had a mini-fridge and A/C, and Suzanne had coffee and donuts out for guests in the lounge the next morning. Not to mention their brewery right next door (Raquette River Brewery), which was the perfect oasis to relax with our pup and take our minds off the car trouble. Mark and Suzanne were very friendly and helpful, they even offered us a ride if we needed it. They make sure their properties are welcoming to all. Can't recommend this spot enough, whether you're staying for Tupper Lake, or unexpectedly! Thanks Mark and Suzanne.

Very clean and quaint motel closely located to Tupper Lake. Practically next door to Racquet River Brewing which is super convenient your late night beverage and food. The people that own it and that work there are super friwndly.. Fresh coffee and homemade donuts every morning from a local bakery. Firepit at night to use too. We were there for a family wedding and we basically booked the majority of cabins out for that weekend. The staff was so friendly and treated us like family. It's the Adirondacks so don't expect fancy but it's cozy comfy and very clean.

Just got home from a great stay at the Faust Motel! This place exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The rooms are newly remodeled and still smell of fresh wood. The beds are actually comfortable with soft sheets and thick, soft towels! Mark and Suzanne are great hosts and offer fresh coffee and local donuts every morning which was a great way to start the day! Also, this is just steps from Raquette River Brewing with tasty beers and a great atmosphere!

The Faust Motel has beautiful newly renovated cabins. From floor to ceiling they have upgraded the cabins to have a nice cozy cottage feel with addition of some pieces of modern style furniture to tie it all together. The rooms were immaculately cleaned with fully renovated washrooms including all new fixtures. The owners were friendly and happy to provide information about activities in the area. As a bonus they provided morning coffee and donuts. I would also recommend walking a few steps down the road to try Raquette River Brewing for some incredible food and a wide selection of beer. Overall a wonderful stay, highly recommended.

We were in a jam, a closing that was supposed to happen on a Monday was postponed to Tuesday. We had a U-Haul truck a car two kids and nowhere to sleep. We pulled into the Faust motel and spoke with Mark. After explaining the situation, he allowed us to check in immediately , park the U-Haul in their yard and leave it there as long as we needed to. The place was newly renovated and was immaculate. The next morning, hot coffee and donuts! They couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly! And we genuinely appreciate their help. Also, if it’s right next-door to the Racquet River brewing we had a delicious lunch there as well and if you’re into microbreweries, they have that too. Thanks Mark!

Mark and Suzanne were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean, the linens are beautiful and very high quality. There is free WiFi, coffee and donuts. The price of the rooms were very reasonable. The owners were POC friendly, and interracial couple friendly. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking to enjoy themselves in the Tupper Lake area.

Very cute old motel. Pulled off at 9pm when the weather was getting too rough to continue (on motorcycles). We were greeted so nicely by the owner (who lives on the property). This is definitely a older roadside motel but very clean. Nice towels. Bring your own shampoo. Would come back for sure!We were tired and hungry so she suggest we run across the street to a family bar/restaurant (which was about to close) and she would turn the heat up in our cabin and we could check in when we got back. Nice touch.

My girlfriend and i stayed at the newly renovated Faust Motel and Cottages this past weekend on 6/30/18. They just re-opened earlier that week and we were the first guests to stay in room 3 since the renovation. It was absolutely outstanding. Everything is new with the exception of the original hardwood floors that were professionally refinished. New bed, lamps, retro style fridge, dresser/table, all new plumbing starting from the street, new bathroom and an awesome shower. The room had a window air conditioner, wifi, and fridge but no TV which was fine with us. Shampoo & conditioner is provided via a dispenser on the shower wall just plan on bringing extra soap with you. The owners Mark and Suzanne are local right in town and are VERY friendly & accommodating. When i noticed there was a small fire drum outside Suzanne offered to fetch us paper, kindling, wood and a lighter so we could enjoy a fire after we returned from Raquette River Brewery. They are also owners of the brewery which is within walking / eyesight distance away. The room rate was reasonable and if you have a Tesla or other electric vehicle there is 2 charging stations onsite.

They have electric chargers ! I didn’t stay here but my vehicle wasn’t going to make it to my destination and I charged here and I was grateful. It was charging at 9 kw in the winter but driving through the Adirondack in the Winter is scary and I had to do it to get to a doctors appointment in nyc the following morning for possible surgery. I am very grateful to Tupper lake for this and will be back sometime !

We love the updated rooms and the new owners are very welcoming. Hospitality was excellent. Our family had two of the updated rooms for a quick overnight stay and will definitely recommend it in the future.
