Never been there before. My husband bumped into this place and he told the dr about my dogs condition. I go there and the lady at the front desk gave me paperwork to fill out. I did and when asked for a credit card. I said I don’t have one but my husband has it I can have him give you the information. She was looking at me like I was stupid and said let me ask the dr. So he comes out and says we need a credit card. I said you act like we want free service. So I put my husband on the phone with the girl and she had a face like she didn’t want to talk to him. I’m holding my dog because he can’t walk and I guess she expected me to write the information when she can do it if my hands are tied up with my dog. So my husband was asking her questions then he said to put me back on the phone. He was confused with what she was saying so I explained and I gave her back the phone and she had an attitude and a face. So I said are you ok or do you not want to do your job. So she says you know what you need to go and see a different vet. I said no I’m here and you’re gonna see my dog. Then the dr comes out and treats me the same. I was like if you don’t know how to treat people you should t be working here. They thought we wanted free service and I guess because I’m not white and live in the rich white people area they can’t give me service. So yes I cursed them out and left. So that was a horrible and bad experience. And seeing the reviews. I’m glad I didn’t have my dog checked. And to the person that they killed their dog I’m so sorry for your loss!! May your dog rip!! Dr acting like he didn’t k ow my husband or speak to him please. You should have put your worker in her place and not treat me the way she did. She got treat and spoken to the way I was treated. And I spoke to you the way you were treating me period!!! And when I was leaving the dr walked behind me to basically close the door in my face!! How rude and unprofessional!! I’ve seen all the reviews. This place is money hungry!! Sorry not sorry!! I’m sticking with my dogs dr. We just wanted a second opinion!! Thank God my husband told me to leave!! Or I would have left there with a huge bill. Why ask for credit card information before even seeing the pet!!!

Overpriced. Money hungry and disrespectful practice. We understand their recommendations however they don’t respect our (the owners) decisions regarding whether we go ahead with them. We have an older dog and have decided not to go ahead with certain options… personal decision. They kept on threatening us and now they won’t issue our dogs usual medication unless we spend all this money on additional tests. This is detrimental to our dogs health but we shouldn’t be threatened with his medication! They even tell us how important it is he keeps taking it but won’t fill the script! We have happily gone elsewhere where there is a much better collaborative and respectful relationship. Reading the other reviews regarding the staff on front desk - I can relate to the frustrations there too. You’ll be happier going elsewhere and your pets will be better looked after. and you’ll save money.. I can confirm their exam fees, vaccinations, medication and lab costs are more expensive than other NY practices.

We have been clients of Tuckahoe Animal Hospital for over 10 years. But the best part of TAH is Kennedy Canine located in the lower level. Mike Kennedy is simply amazing! Although we moved an hour away we still bring our dog for daycare. It's amazing the minute we hit the corner she goes nuts be cause she knows that she will have a full day of fun!Mike is the pied piper of the doggie world!Our dog is exhausted by the time we pick her up. A good dog is a tired dog!!!

Obviously here at this vet, it's all about money. They are rude and cold! 1st off, if you're not a regular, they charge you $175 to even look at your pet. Also on paperwork to fill out, they ask if you consider your pet a family member or just a pet! Terrible how they take advantage of people and their pets in need of care! They are many other vets in the area that can talk to you over the phone, more caring, compassionate and accommodating...

Our rescue has so many medical and emotional issues and the vets and staff have taken such good care of him. We thought he may not walk again and now he is running around like a mad man! This entire staff is amazing!

I previously met Mike at the day care downstairs and he was terrific This review is for the veterinary practice. My pet saw Dr. Meglino for the first time recently. He gave him vaccines he was already immunized for without asking me (and they had the records for), clipped his nails without asking me first, gaslit me for experiences my dog has had in the past, did a full blood panel without any medical necessity including a urine sample taken directly from his bladder. It is clear this practice is not attentive to detail as they continue to call my male dog a female. We needed only one vaccine and walked out with a $550 bill and traumatized dog... I give 2 stars because the team are very responsive and friendly.

The vet took time to explain many aspects of dog care with me. I thought one of the staff behind the desk could have been friendlier.Addendum: The staff member has been pleasant. It was a one time issue.

Completely unprofessional! I have been bringing my dog, Hayley to the doggie daycare downstairs (Kennedy Canine Center) which is great. I needed to board her in the Tuckahoe Animal Hospital for two days which is perfect because she would play all day and go upstairs at night to sleep. I booked nearly six weeks in advance and they did not say anything about needing a checkup from their office. I followed up about 10 days out and still nothing about the checkup (just that I needed to send her health records from my vet). I sent the health records (vaccines etc.) over three days in advance and still nothing about needing a checkup. Today, they tell me that she needs a checkup to be able to be boarded tomorrow and that there are no appointments available. Completely left us without care for my dog. Unacceptable.

Although we dont use the vet here ( family friend is our vet) we are OBSESSED with the day care! We can't say enough about Mike! Honest, Caring, and Devoted are just three words that best describes Mike. Kennedy Canine Center has been the best thing that has happened to us and and our dog Maximus!

Excellent care for our Gertie. Dr. Meglino took so much time with our newly adopted, 12 year old terrier, who came to us with a severe skin condition/allergy. We had just spent thousands at an allergist who though she had Cushings disease, but she did not. She has severe allergies. Dr. Meglino put her on Apoquel and we saw almost instant results. AND, the doctor was reachable with the many questions we had and the office (shout out to Cat and Alex) followed up to see how she was responding. We transferred our dogs to this vet because we were looking for more of a relationship and we got it! Highly recommend. I'm unsure about the negative reviews (maybe there was someone else in the front who is no longer there?)

Our local rescue organization is taking in two 10 year old cats from a couple that got a divorce. The wife was going to euthanize the healthy cats. The rescue group needed vet paperwork and saw that this vet hospital recently prescribed 400mg of Gabapentin for these cats which is NOT needed for them and that is enough to kill them! I will be reporting this practice for malpractice!!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU

My partner and I had to take our dog in a few times. Each time I’ve gone in, the experience had always been consistent. They’re friendly, welcoming and professional. Getting to know the staffs and their fur-babies. Dr. Meglino, who have always taken care of our boy, have shown the upmost compassion. So UNPROFESSIONAL! I called about a week ago and wanted to become a new client. The receptionist that picked up the phone was rude, nasty and wanted to have nothing to do with the call. I proceeded to book an appointment to see if it was maybe a busy day! I called today to confirm and they didn’t even have my appointment and the receptionist laughed on the phone. Clearly they do not need me as a client or want to keep there reputation. I want to take my pet where I can trust the staff will be sweet to my dog, clearly they can’t be sweet to me so my trust that they will treat my dog better goes out the window.Very sad! I found a new vet in Eastchester super quick and friendly!

Extremely poor service and several times more expensive than other vets in the area. We took our last dog to this vet and repeatedly heard them call her the “puppy-mill dog”. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.We noticed our dog was behaving strange and would have trouble eating and constantly mention this to the doctor on site. We knew something was wrong but he wouldn’t listen to us. For two whole years we told him to run tests and a cat scan for our own well being but he told us not to worry. That we were overreacting.Fast forward to 2020 and we had our dogs teeth cleaned (a $1500 bill which is $550 at the eastchester pet hospital up the road by the way) and he casually mentions “oh by the way, she has tumors in her throat, looks like you were right”. If he had listened to us from the get go we might have been able to help her before things got as bad as they did. We unfortunately had to put her down but i will never forgive you for the time you stole from us by being so stubborn and arrogant.We will never be bringing any of our pets to you and will recommend other vets to friends that ask. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Gave a women 400mg of Gabapentin for her cats. Cats only need about 5mg per lb of weight. The women was wanting to euthanize them so this is FISHY! Our local rescue group requested the vet paperwork and saw this on there.

Ouch. Clearly you have to get past the front desk. My first visit and it did not start well. I wanted some information from my records to book an appointment. Staff seemed annoyed, then the phone rang. Clearly people calling in have front line privileges as a conversation developed while I just stood there. I walked out and it was not noticed. They did call me. I suggest that you call if you need anything.

I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star. I regret bringing my yorkie here for a second time. On Dec 14th, 21 the vet Dr Meglino showed his true colors when he comes to talk to me with a direct and stern attitude and when I told him I didn't like the way he was talking to me he said then get out. My yorkie was brought there today because she's been throwing up for 3 days and her allergies are back. So freaking unprofessional of Dr Meglino and so is the secretary I spoke to yesterday Dec 13th. The secretary tried to interrogate me because I missed the follow up appt which was a week from Nov 17th. I don't have to keep explaining why I missed that appt. (mind you everytime you bring your pet in there is a $90 fee) I did mention to the secretary If the vet fee can be waived being that I was bringing in my yorkie for a follow up. This place best interest is money not your pet. I payed $499 of which $250 was for blood work. I never received lab work papers and would like it emailed to me. If I can give -0 this would be my rating.

I had an appointment for my puppy to get vaccinated, I waited for 1 week. The day before I get a call saying it was a at a different time. On the day of the appointment I get another call saying that my appointment had been at the time initially scheduled and that I was too late. Truly unprofessional, specially during this time where you cannot get any appointments anywhere. Both of the ladies were rude and lacked client orientation, do not recommend this place at all!

Doctors and staff are wonderfu, very dedicatedl they really go out of their way to comfort the family and pets. Unlike this Vet on quaker ridge who took care of my cat for 1 day billed me $750. to do electrolytes the following day the Humane Society put my cat to sleep. Beware of Vet like this.. Tuckahoe Animal Hospital is the place where u can find peace and comfort because they truly care about our pets

Top quality care - really great vet. We drive 20 minutes to go here because we like.rhem so much more than the local vets. Highly recommended. Beware though: parking situation is pretty rough. They will ticket in seconds. make sure you have quarters ready.

I had been to a couple of vets prior with my pup and knew I never wanted to return there so I was so happy to find this place. They are great! The place is very clean, neat, and organized. The staff was very courteous and Dr. Meglino was thorough and knowledgeable. It is a bit pricey ($90 for the exam alone), but I am a believer that you get what you pay for and this place is worth it. If you, like me, feel that pets are part of your family you want them to get the best care/treatment and this place really delivered.

Dr. Doherty correctly diagnosed Fluffy for the first time in 12 years. All the missed diagnosis’ caused her to suffer for no reason. Dr. Meglino was there one day when Dr. Doherty was out and he was just as excellent. I cannot recommend this office more. The people at the desk have been very compassionate as well. Fluffy comes home happy and that says it all! They are more expensive than most but the peace of mind is priceless

Our dog passed away 3 days after seeing Dr. Meglino.He was having diarrhea and loss of appetite for a few days so we decided to take him to see Dr. Meglino. His energy level was still fine and look alert prior to seeing him. Once we brought him in, the doctor did an X-ray on him immediately due to his heart condition and to our devastation, the doctor suspects he has terminal cancer. We were all very saddened by this bad news but my family and I think it would be best to not let our dog go through the painful process of chemotherapy at my dog's age. We were hoping our dog won't have to suffer as much on his final days and the doctor said the heart medication will help him with his breathing and his heart. He prescribed a total of four medication and one supplement. He also gave my dog an injection without asking for our consent after he took his x-ray. Since the doctor's treatment and medication, our dog died after 3 days. The medication made him a lot worst and he wasn't moving at all, he can barely go to pee or poop. On day 3 after seeing the doctor, he died in our hands. I understand that my dog has a heart problem and cancer but there is no way my dog can deteriorate exponentially after seeing the doctor. I regretted taking my dog to see him cause if we didn't, we might get to spend few more weeks with him.

I have been going to Tuckahoe Animal Hosp for 2 years now after trying other local vets with disapointing results. I have never been more happier. Excellant service and staff, friendly, clean and very professional. I have a French Bulldog and was impressed with their knowledge of the breed and its problems. I also use their grooming service now and am very satisfied with it and Munch is too.

Beware -- this office does not comply with COVID safety procedures. While the vet who comes to speak with you wears a mask, the ladies at the counter only put theirs on when a customer approaches the desk, and techs in the back (who frequently come out into the front desk and customer area) don't wear masks at all. This is plain negligent in a small space where air is not well circulated! Unfortunately I only realized this after my pet was already taken to the back for care and was afraid that saying anything would compromise the treatment. If their concern for human health and safety is this low, I don't want to think about what risks they take with animals. Never again.
