Today was my first time heading into The Vegan Grocery Store. They did not disappoint!!A very friendly staff member greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I foolishly asked "So everything in here in vegan??" They reassured me that it wasn't a silly question and that yes: everything is in fact vegan! TVGS takes the guess work out of grocery shopping, so I was able to freely shop without any hesitation.As a traveling pet sitter, this is the first time in years I've had human clients with some pretty strict dietary restrictions. I'm happy to know that I won't be cross contaminating anything in their home by mistake!I will absolutely be returning!

A new find for me. So much easier to shop here instead of having to read the fine point on labels in a traditional store. Nice selection. Some ready to eat sandwiches and quite a few frozen meals like the shepherd's pies I bought, as well as regular base ingredients. Love it

The Vegan Grocery Store is a great place to have in town. I have sisters who are vegan, and this is my one-stop place to get groceries for any meal or dessert I make them. Even if you're not committed to a vegan lifestyle, I still recommend this shop for those looking for meat alternatives, snacks, and to check out the assortment of animal-friendly products on hand as well.

This place was the highlight of my time in NY, honestly got me more excited than Niagara Falls. Hot food was so good and found vegan brands I’ve never heard of before. Staff was so friendly.Not crazy expensive like most vegan places but realistic prices. They even do community activism…🐮🐷🐓So inspiring keep doing what you’re doing ❤️

Even people who have been vegan for years will find themselves saying "I didn't know they made that!" This shop has an amazing selection of items. It is a must for those who want to create plant-based versions of their favorite recipes.I find the prices on most items are competitive with grocery stores, which was a pleasant surprise considering this cozy shop does not move the volume of product sold by the major players.

All I can say is: "Wow!" The pricing is so reasonable, the options are incredibly diverse, vegan foods I've never seen before. And the Cashier was a delight. 😊 Will be back again!

I love this addition to Oliver Street. Terrific selection of vegan eats and drinks, and that unmistakeable pleasant earthy / herby essence throughout. The store is reminiscent of the now-defunct Feel Rite on Elmwood Avenue some fellow Gen Xers may recall. A breath of fresh air in the neighborhood.

Such an amazing store. It’s always so much fun to pick out items you have never tried before. All vegan. The staff and owners are so sweet and helpful too. I’ve been going since they first opened and I wish I lived closer! Definitely stop in and check it out! Thank you for bringing us a store that we don’t have to stress out in!!!

I love being able to shop without reading labels! The owner has carefully chosen the best vegan products on the market, with a lot of variety. I am so happy that the store has expanded to include a few options for hot meals to go! Great place to stop for a breakfast sandwich on the way to work. The owner is so nice, and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. I will continue to support this wonderful small business, in hopes that they'll be able to open more stores in the near future! Vegan for the animals, vegan for life ♥️Update - The fresh cookies and cinnamon rolls baked by shop owner's mom are to die for! Be sure to grab extras when they are stocked, as these treats are a rare find. Thank you, ladies, these treats get me through my excruciating work days.

I found out recently that I might have an allergy to dairy. I was upset as the majority of my diet was based in dairy. I went to The Vegan Grocery Store to find dairy free alternatives.The owner was super kind and sweet to me! She took the time to show me around the store and told me that food should never the enemy.All the products are dairy free in The Vegan Grocery Store, so it feels amazing and stress relieving to be able to go in without having to read labels. Not to mention, the food is incredible, and tastes exactly like food with actual diary in it. I also love how The Vegan Grocery Store serves breakfast and lunch options Monday-Saturday so I can still enjoy the foods I love such as pizza logs and breakfast sandwiches while still accommodating to my potential allergy.I will definitely be returning here for all my grocery and food needs! I am so thankful to have this grocery store—it has been a lifesaver for me during this time!

I admit I'm not vegan, but family members are and I'm always looking to make better food choices whenever I can. I ran into so much trouble when my son decided to eat a vegan diet finding good quality (and tasty) options to offer him. Thank goodness for this store... If there's anything your looking for, they'll have it here, right down to locally made vegan pierogies! Any kind of ingredients, frozen meals, snacks, candy, even personal care items! Questions? The friendly and helpful staff can answer any questions you might have. This place is Awesome. GO!

Loved it! Im traveling from MA to Ok. This was a dangerous stop for my wallet. It is really nice to find new products that I can eat! Regular grocery stores don't always offer this many options! I got a bunch of snacks for the rest of my drive! Yummm!

It honestly breaks my heart to write this because I have been here a few times and I really like their service and selection, but... they recently started carrying products from No Evil Foods, a terrible company that busts unions and has a long history of mistreating their workers. I've been vegan for over a decade, but I don't want to buy products from companies that are bad to their workers. Please reconsider carrying this brand. I'd love to come back on my trips through New York but not until then.

I was staying in Buffalo for 6 days. I was here 3 separate times. I feel like that speaks for itself.This place made me feel like a kid in a candy store (but maybe that was just the Go Max Go, 7th Heaven, and Trupo Treats dancing around in my line of sight). Sweets aside, the prepared foods I tried were delicious, and the groceries they carried felt like everything I 'd ever seen online in one place. I got to try so many things I'd never seen in person before while stocking up on old favorites and staples. My friend who is gluten, egg, and dairy intolerant also found a lot of her favorite items here as well as other, new ones. The Trupo Treats made her week!I can't wait for places like this to become more common. It was nice to not have to read labels for once,

Nice little local store, great selection and super helpful staff. I've been meaning to visit since my husband and I moved here, finally I ended up stopping in when I was missing an ingredient for a recipe! I'm glad I did. Lots of healthy choices and vegan alternatives to everyday foods, and they had my missing ingredient! So glad that we have a store like this in the community! Pricing ended up being cheaper than what I would've gotten my items for at the grocery store too, can't beat that!

Super nice people there. My wife and I stopped in to pick up a gift basket we won for “Shop Small Saturday”. Took a look around the store and found some interesting items. We’re not vegans, so I suspect we won’t be shopping there, but their prices seemed in line with expectations and they had a larger selection than I thought. If this is something you’re into, this is well worth a stop.

Definitely the number one place to get any and all vegan items, particularly the weird ones you normally have to order online - like Kala Namak (pink/black salt for egg tofu), soy curls (ordering online always risks them coming crushed), and anything else you can imagine. They have a VERY wide assortment of frozen goods too. Naturally, this place is a bit more expensive than what you might find in Wegmans but it's more than worth it to support having a specifically vegan grocery store locally. Also - the lady who always works the front desk is such a sweetheart! Doesn't bother you while you're browsing but loves to chat at check out, or if you have questions.Love this place - definitely worth checking out, even if you're not vegan and you're just curious!

Went for the first time a few weeks ago. First, they have may wah wings - which are fantastic. Second, they have some truly unique products you wont find at bigger grocery stores. I'll definitely make the trek back up there specifically to shop here.
