I loved The innski. It felt like a safe haven for college students, intellectuals, artists, and travelers alike. There’s thrift shop charm, art galore, and comfortable beds with down comforters. You cannot beat the view of the Hudson and Catskill Mountains. It’s quiet, safe, and exudes warmth. If you’re looking for luxury, this is not your place. Some of it is rough around the edges. If your looking for a beautiful, historic home and a side dish of “quirk” you will enjoy yourself.Tim is a great host. Not sure if he makes the granola that’s served for breakfast, but it sure is good. If my daughter picks Bard as her school, we will most certainly be back.Thank you for a lovely stay, Tim.

The room was perfect, the house is beautiful and fun, and the location and views are exceptional, but The Suminski Innski is so much more than that.I stayed here for a night on a 200 mile bike trip and confidently, it is the most magical thing I experienced in all those miles. It is all at once a community center, an art gallery, a home, a library, a bed and breakfast, and a testament to the ability of humans to work together to create something bigger than the sum of their parts.Staying here should be required reading.

Tim is an excellent host, and this house is absolutely wonderful. I came here with 15 of my bandmates, and he had space for all of us to sleep very comfortably, in addition to several other groups of guests. It never felt overcrowded, and the homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful. The enormous porch overlooks the Hudson river, and there is plenty of seating for everyone. Tim is friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home and hanging out with us in the evening on the porch. The back yard is also quite spacious and includes a camper and additional cabin. There is even a secret underground lair with a drum set, ready to be played! In the main house is a well-tuned piano and a few string instruments that are also inviting you to play them. The walls are decked with old paintings and huge mirrors, and the molding along the high ceilings is very ornate. Chandeliers in every room add to the decadent atmosphere. You may feel like you've stepped into a well-used Newport mansion, where you are welcome to make yourself at home.

What a wonderful place! It's like spending the weekend at your friends house. Everyone is friendly, warm and welcoming. The wrap-around porch is AWESOME! Breakfast is SUPER tasty! People are coming and going all day long. Sitting on the front porch, watching the water and having wonderful conversations with newfound friends was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. We can't wait to go back.

In all Fairness that I was at Tim's in summer 2018 and I'm just leaving a comment today doesn't mean anything bad. Of course not! I really enjoyed the time and the bucolic nature around! I never stayed here but it is on the Hudeon River in Tivoli but the RR tracks. Tivoli is a fun little town that has everything.
