Great experience for Apple picking! Apples were delicious, and picnic areas were perfect to take a rest having apple cider, donuts, or some snacks! Kids also could enjoy times at the beautiful play ground. Especially hey ride($2/person) and corn maze($5/person) were more interesting than I expected! We will come back here again!

We went for PYO apples today and it was quite an experience. You get to decide between a small ($15, fits between 15-20 apples) or large bag ($20), then off you go into the orchards. We also picked up some donuts and they were the best donuts I’ve had so far. Not overly sweet, with a soft and fluffy texture. We regretted that we only took half a dozen. With half a dozen priced at $5, it’s a steal! There are some picnic tables, potable toilets and hand wash around the farm so it‘s also perfect if you intend to picnic on-site.

Mead Orchards are for serious apple pickers. There’s acres of different varieties of apples. There’s no pumpkin patches or apple cider donuts. Regardless, this is the spot if you want to pick apples.

you can pick your own fruit including cherries, strawberries, blueberries, apples, and peaches. it is a low key place with none of the circus atmosphere of other farms that offer pick your own. we were so happy to have found this farm this year and made the 1.5 hour trek three times this summer for their fruit. their website didn't mention it but they have honeycrisps! they have a good variety of apples that you may find at other orchards but also many that you can't like snapdragon and rubyfrost. not certified organic but they use natural means of pest control, so essentially organic.

Really enjoyed the cherry and blueberry picking I did here a couple of weeks ago. We were able to drive up to each orchard since they all had designated parking areas and pick our fruit. I like how we didn't have to walk miles especially in this 90° weather.

Beautiful experience. Definitely worth coming. I came in the month of October and there was plenty of red and green apples. As you drive around you see a field of red pepper and pumpkins and many other vegetables!!!

AMAZING APPLES!Took my wife and 2 kids here Columbus day 2018, the weather was overcast which kept people away. We had a great time. The farm is a good size and has some great views from the upper hills. You drive your car to the areas of the farm that have the listed apples that are ready to be picked. There are areas to park and walk, there was a port-a-potty and some tables to sit. The staff was friendly and the prices were good. We also picked up a few small pumpkins and some cider which was excellent. The best part is the APPLES were AMAZING! Every variety that was available for picking this day were delicious. I think Ruby reds were my favorite. We will be back next year

We have been visiting Mead Orchards for years now. There is a new owner and it is much improved and enhanced. The Best thing is there is no entrance or parking fee, so you can spend your money on apples, vegetables, fruit and other apple-related items. They now produce their own honey (the hives are near the vegetable fields and visible from the top of one of the hills. For You-Pick, you now drive up past the market/store and park near an airstream trailer. You purchase bags there ($15 or $30 when we were there) and then take either a hayride (fee) or walk the orchards with one of (free) wagons (what we did). There's a "village" with different buildings, a sand box and live chickens. There's also a corn maze (fee), plenty of picnic tables (some under a pavilion surrounded by sunflowers), a restroom and when we were there, a food truck. The rows were labeled with varieties and the grass between all the rows were mowed, making walking and picking easy. I would suggest bringing a picking pole, as much of the best apples were above reach. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and informative. The website seemed to be kept up to date. Overall, we had a relaxing, enjoyable day and came home with a wide variety of apples. This is our preferred orchard and will definitely be going back.

Family was visiting and we went apple picking near home. It was lovely. Everything well tended and thoughtfully laid out with something for everyone. Picnic tables, sunflowers, giant pumpkins and the cutest decorated tiny house village for the kids. Even the 16 year old loved it! That’s something! We’ll worth the visit.

Typical orchard. It would be helpful if they had a map to highlight where the different varieties are as we found ourselves wondering aimlessly. Only one staff at the camper booth and were sold out of waters. Hay ride and corn maze cost extra even though the hay ride is the only way to get to certain varieties which seems a bit unfair. Overall, yes we would return but some changes are needed.

Well, it's kinda hard to escape looking unbiased here with a name like mine. But truthfully, I married into the family and have never been part of the operations, but I enjoy the Orchards every time I get to come visit. I'm quite addicted to the cider. I love walking around and picking fruit to take home. And I especially love when there's a food truck present.

First thing to know is that Mead is HUGE. It's the first u-pick farm I've been to where after getting on the property you have to drive to different parts to be pick because each area is so huge. We went in mid-August and they had many varieties of Apples, peaches, and blueberries. We saw plums, pears, and lots of other stuff. But we only picked blueberries, for an hour. They had five varieties, we picked ~6lbs primarily from two types, that's about 5 quarts. We all had a blast and it was awesome. Not organic. But they said they're advised by a university in friendly practices such as using bugs to avoid other pests. Will definitely go back. Also, quick logistics: it's a bit off the beaten path, but worth it. They have port-o-potties. Blueberries were paid separate from other items. They normally take credit cards, but machine was not working and she said that happens a lot.

Get ready to over spend for subpar experience. New owners... an expense at every turn. No measurement on fruit purchase... Took my daughter.. she picked 8 peaches... It cost $15!!! Ridiculous especially given there is a $5 entrance fee. Find another farm folks!!

Whike I haven’t been to the Mead Orchards, they have come to me! I’ve been buying their fruit, which is outstanding at the White Plains Farmer’s Market on Court Street. They have delicious fruit as well as their own CSA that they are starting on August 4th for twelve weeks! We are signing up and looking forward to delicious fruits and vegetables !

They have great pick your own apples in the fall and blueberries and strawberries in the spring and summer. Mead is also a really great place to work. I've worked for them since I was 14. Its like a second home and I get paid at the same time.

Great local orchard. Prices very fair, one of the best cups of hot cider I've ever had. Plenty of selection for Apples. Will definitely be back.

The best pick-your-own orchard I have found in the Hudson Valley! Picnic in the orchard with The Catskill Mountains in the distance. No hay rides, candy apples, corn mazes ... just a place to pick fresh, delicious peaches, plums, apples. A gem!

What they bring to the Ossining Farmers Market now-a-days is not consistently great. I have been able to buy very good fruit and vegetables at times but not always. They are pricey to boot.
