A fantastic addition to this area,clean store, good prices and great food!This is fantastic. Years ago there was a Byrne dairy here then a private shop that closed down north country market has re opened the location as a market and gas station.They offer all the usual gas station fair drinks, subs snacks and such but they also have a butchers counter with steaks and burgers plus some other meats, a deli with home made sub and cold cuts by the pound. They also make hot food like hot subs, burgers , and breakfast. The food is great, store is spotless and prices are pretty fair for this area. Staff was friendly and service was prompt help them get started on a good foot swing in and pay them a visit.

Went here to view the eclipse, the staff was welcoming and the food was good! Hats off to them for hosting everyone that came in they took it in stride!

Excellent food, and friendly service. Just outta the main hub in old forge, a local gem. Would highly recommend trying there food here. Ordered the brisket sandwich, country burger, rachel, and the diabolo sandwich. All were very good.

Brisket Mac & Cheese and Chicken Riggies for the win. A low-key dinner to-go. The deli was closed (I got there late) but they have pre-packed meals. Would go back!

Inconsistency is this establishments major downfall. Hours on website and Google don't match their operational hours.This place could easily earn five stars if they were consistent. The food is always great, best breakfast sandwiches in the area and their dinner menu is awesome. The only problem is that if you're a loyal customer you will experience many changes in the menu, losing some options that may have been your favorite. It's understandable to make adjustments but some of their decisions don't make much sense to any of us. We still continue to be loyal customers but it can be frustrating to lose your favorite menu items at any given time.

EDIT 11/3/20: Management reached out, willing to give them another go next time I am in the area. Will update review then. Bumped one star for actually caring about their visitors.Stopped to get a few sandwiches and honestly was expecting so much more. I've come here in the off season and had great service and food. This time was not so great. 15 minute wait standing there with 1 customer ahead, staff was not very attentive, took another 10 minutes to make two sandwiches and my wife's veggie wrap on sun dried tomato basil came out with wheat and no cheese that I had specifically asked for. I'd have been better throwing $20 at the grocery store and making them myself.I probably won't be stopping here again anytime soon. I hope the owners read this and understand that it is not what it was 2 years ago when they opened. I'll try again in the off season but very disappointed.

Really good sandwiches. High quality meats. The warm roast beef sub scores a 9/10. The sandwich choices are excellent and enhanced with things like fresh onions or additives like hot peppers. Adirondack dining style picnic tables under the covered porch in the path of the yummy smells of the outdoor smoker/grill. Plenty of beverage and small to large snack choices. Bottled wine is also available for purchase.

The food looks great but I didn't try any becuase I got extremely irritated waiting in a line of 8 people and 2 kids for one unisex bathroom. Would have been okay if there wasn't a perfectly good second bathroom right next to it that is locked and marked employees only... is that really necessary?

Editing here, Guessing by Scott's response I might have been a bit harsh giving two stars for a review. I may have pushed the wrong button. My main objective was to point out my experience not to create hostility. After having a great take out fish fry a while back, I decided to grab another one for my company. It was close to closing time and the fillets were all dried out as if they were sitting in a warming oven for hours. Not moist and flavorful like my first experience. Staff on duty probably didn't know any better.

Best Sandwiches in the North Country. The Cuban is my favorite.Pick up a jar of their raspberry jam. It's my families favorite. The pineapple salsa is good too

Ok the sandwiches me and my boyfriend had here are so good I'm writing a review 2 months later laying here thinking of this sandwich... we were on our way home from a mirror lake vacation and stopped for a quick lunch near old forge ....i got a sandwich with brisket golden BBQ and onion straws.... you my friend are the sandwich god .. the brisket alone is to die for great job and great quality food .. thank you till I can wait to get up there again!.

This is a great place to stop, there bathrooms are for customers only nice and clean but they do have porta- potties in the backnice selection of local productsthere egg sandwiches are made fresh to order, real eggs,real bacon delicious. There are tables available if you want to stay and eat large selection of subs.They also have gas pumps Thanks for being there Great job!

North County Market was the first local business I went to upon my arrival in Thendara/Old Forge. They had everything I needed including ice and firewood. I went back several times and was always warmly greeted by friendly locals gathered around the coffee bar and helpful employees. They even offered suggestions for items not listed on the takeout menu.

Stopped in for some gas and grabbed some sandwiches to. There was a lot of meat on the sandwich but the bread and lettuce were old. We asked for Mayo on most of the sandwiches but there was no Mayo. Which made the bread even harder to eat! Unfortunately big waste of money for my family and I.

Well stocked convenience store and deli. Big list of killer, fresh made sandwiches and salads. Well staffed with friendly help. Add in gas and cold beer and it's a no brainer.

Great food but don’t ask to change from Russian Dressing to Mustard on a “”signature sandwich “ they charge $2 to do that!! Doesn’t make any sense and the guy taking the order on the phone certainly didn’t mention it.
