Well stocked, clean, and staffed with nice people. Don't come in expecting fresh lobster or a huge fruit/veg section: it's in the mountains after all. Only complaint would be that some of the prices can be pretty high, but that's how the cookie crumbles.

Prices are very high at Tops in Tannersville. The vegetable and fruit department is rather small and the products are old and very pricey. They have one person working in the deli and usually you have to wait. It's convenient to shop for just the basics.

This market has pretty much everything you would need. Of course it's gonna overpriced but what do you expect from the only one supermarket in town. Straight monopoly so idk why people complain

Store offers alot, and employees especially Tanner and Laurie are so helpful. If you need an item, they don't point where it is, they take you there! In the winter, the store gets packed with skiers, but they politely handle it.

Normal super market normal Tannersville prices. Pleasant staff with a good beer selection. No fish market but they have a meat market and have a frozen fish section in the back.

Well stocked, good variety, and reasonable prices. About 20 minutes from Windham, but the closest standard supermarket. And a Stewart's Shop nearby the supermarket for great ice cream.

On the plus side you’re the only game in town. Appreciate, thank you. But why are the cashiers so rude and nonchalant? They seem very unhappy to be there. Small change in attitude could make a big difference.

Recently went to this Tops and can confirm the racism / ageism others have posted about on various review platforms. My husband and I recently went to this Tops (he is a white male, I am Indian, both in our 30s), and the lady at self check out made it a point to watch how we took care of scanning items like a hawk, not doing that to any other patron at the store. At the end, when we had a wipe in our cart, she asked if we didn't scan something and came to inspect, which again, she did to nobody else. While the manager I spoke to seemed very sorry for what happened, the fact that such individuals are employed at Tops is ridiculous. It's tough that they're the only supermarket near Hunter Mountain; but recommend you try and shop somewhere else.

I was impressed with how clean this store was. Prices were average for this area. They were out of the advertised produce that I wanted. Check out was a disaster. Only self check out was available which would have been ok if it was an easier system to use. I often use self check out at other stores when available, but this one took twice as long as a "stand and wait regular check-out." Thinking that I may not return to this store due to this experience.

Very rude cashiers; my coworkers and I got a large order for our trip in the area and at checkout, the woman helping us was very inconsiderate and harsh by barking at us to bag a certain way and pack up our items in a certain way for her to scan. She was rude when it came time to pay and we were deciding who to pay since it would be reimbursed from our workplace. Really bad customer service. The quality and selection was pretty good despite this so I would go self checkout for a smaller amount of items if you do go here

Less than impressed. The food selection is not that good and the people we met were not exceptionally friendly. We bought raspberries that were molded by the next morning. I get that the whole world is under stress, but that changes nothing. Objectively the store is the only one in town ..and that is why they are in business.

Pretty good for a local store. Produce is good. Weekends get busy, so go early. Self check out and Cashiers available

Excellent mountaintop grocery store with anything you could need or want. Their selection of cheese and meat is amazing. Nice place to stock up if you're in the Tannersville/Haines Falls/Hunter area.

Super friendly staff, surprising selection of products, and everything seemed fresh and rotated appropriately. Be aware that the "traditional" camping foods seemed a bit higher priced than most stores. So if you are buying for a large group you may be able to get better deals at other grocery store locations.

Very small (as far as branches of the major grocery retailers go) - with very limited selection of foods. For example: there was exactly 1 variety of chopped beef available for burgers - 80% lean ! That's it ! (No 85, no 90...)(and no chopped sirloin or anything else). No fish or seafood section at all !! Only thing available in seafood is prepackaged bags of things like frozen shrimp or crabmeat. No real stock of "ethnic" foods. The selection of non grocery items - like OTC drugs, utensils, cleaning, electrical, etc. is very limited as well. The store is often crowded on weekends - small aisles, kind of old and dirty feeling - obviously hasn't been renovated anytime recently. The prices are surprisingly and absurdly high (a few examples: this Tops price for a regular size Paul Newman's pasta sauce (not organic) is $3.49; regular price for 1/2 gal. of Tropicana OJ is $5.39 !! (when "on sale" - which isn't that often it's 2/$7) - at Tops on Rt. 6 in Carmel, NY in Putnam County (actually a much wealthier area) the regular price for the Newman sauce is $2.19 !! and Tropicana OJ 1/2 gal is usually on sale at 2/$6 - when it's not price is $3.99.One obvious reason is because they have a monopoly here - it is around a 35 min drive to larger towns that have other much larger grocery stores (such as Catskill, Saugerties or a bit further to Kingston). If you are planning on spending time in the Hunter/Tannersville area, probably a good idea to stock up on food on your way. And if you're going into this Tops in the future, I'd mask up (during any possible future recurrence of a COVID surge)... Poor ventilation, small aisles, etc.All in all, if you have a choice - stay away. Or you can also go to the Hannaford in Woodstock/W.Hurley or the Hannaford in Cairo NY (both about 25-28 min drive) - both of the Hannaford's have larger selection and lower prices.

Been shopping here since it opened. If you're a good shopper you can get great deals. The employees work really hard to make it a nice store and it definitely shows!

Clean grocery store, has pretty much everything you need with decent to fair prices. There not many name brand grocery in this area between Windham/Hunter Man area. I wouldn't complain if it wasn't for the slow, poor customer service and rude, unneeded comment from a cashier regarding the botanical classification of a tomato.

A very friendly supermarket. I was on my way back from a wonderful day of skiing at Hunter Mountain and I was just famished! I saw this good looking building on the way back, and I just had to stop in. I found was a delicious snack to consume for my trip back, what a treat! Also a great pit stop for a bathroom break.

The worst grocery shopping experience ever! They do seems to have everything, but it's almost impossible to find any vegetable that is fresh enough to eat, got a box of coleslaw and taste like rotten cabbage. Only meat section and oil/spice section was fine. Oh last, it's the least friendly staff I have ever seen and it has the "Friendly" in the name. If you don't mind drive a little more, highly recommend sunflower market.

Use the add! Place has hi prices on SOME things! You will find plenty of deals that will make it worth shopping there. You have to be wise use the ad ahead of time and plan your trip this is the kind of store if you just run in had strong and without no preparation then you're going to spend more money this is not a cheap store I would consider it a specialty store they have some extra items and things that you may be looking for particularly with drinks spices and some all-natural stuff that if you're willing to pay a little more they definitely have what you're looking for type situation. The customer service is something to be noted at the register and customer service counter as a little bit better than average if not really good to be honest however the customer service when you're in the store looking for something well don't count on somebody to approach a customer looking around like a deer and headlights but if you ask you'll get help. Clean and friendly place and bathrooms are more towards the back of the store.

Tops is a huge supermarket with everything you could possibly need. It's the only supermarket near where I was staying, and thankfully so! The prices are extremely affordable, with many items on sale. If you don't have a member's card, no worries.. the cashiers will scan theirs so you still get all the members only discounts! Friendly staff and well stocked!

I'm not local. Lots of businesses struggle up here. We try to spread around our purchases. Even so, sometimes we want what we want- fresh bread, guac, whatever. This is a big store that has everything a big grocery has down state, big urban/suburban or on Long Island. We dont go to restaurants now so we need ingredients and groceries to cook at home. Done! The help is friendly to tourists like us and are competent. Constantly stocking and cleaning. This place is busy but never seems to be overwhelmed even with a nearly full (and clean and plowed) parking lot. Lots to like here.

This supermarket has a very good selection of goods. I was pleased to see a wide variety of all kinds of sauces meats and snacks. I wish more places had this kind of variety.
