A group of 4 visited Tabla for dinner on a Sunday night around 5pm. We had no issues getting seated. The ambiance is nice, it's next to a nice river/creek and inside is fairly spacious. The food was ok.FOOD:We got the trio of dips (whipped feta, muhamara, and beet tahini), the fried artichokes, the cavatelli and pesto dish, and sides were the greens (collard greens) and crispy potatoes. The dips were pretty good. We'd probably get something else in place of the beet tahini. The muhammara was good. The artichokes were good and the sauces to dip them in (marinara-type and a white aioli) were good. The cavatelli dish with pesto and tomatoes was not good. Two couples got it, and neither found it tasty. It was very bland. Pesto usually has a strong profile, but this had none. I understand "bland" is subjective, but all 4 of us thought it had no "pesto" flavor. The crispy potatoes were good. This is by no means an insult to the restaurant, rather a relative description and our opinion.SERVICE:Everyone was super friendly and professional. A nice welcome, checking the heat in our area were all little details that stand out. There were a couple areas with room for improvement. We ordered a soup to come out as an entrée but it came out as a starter. We asked for several things multiple times. I will be fair and say that they did accommodate my last minute change to an entrée though, so that was definitely a plus.Overall, my recommendation would be to taste test (with others) the pesto pasta dish and let the pesto shine, it needs more flavor there. Also, just a bit more focus on what patrons are asking for.

Updating a year later! The entire menu has changed; Oh, what a great find and a great location/view! The food is incredible - very impressed and unexpected. There’s a creek alongside with beautiful views (outdoor seating available too) and the staff is amazing.. so welcoming and loving! Really makes you feel at home. Olivia was the waitress and she is such a LIGHT! Thank you, Tabla!!! Will definitely be back!!!

Title: Mixed Experience at Tabla in Tannersville, NYReview:My recent visit to Tabla in Tannersville, NY had its ups and downs. While the food was generally good, the service left much to be desired. The ambiance was inviting, and we were excited to try the lump crab pasta. However, when it arrived, we were disappointed to find that it lacked the promised lump crab meat. Despite this letdown, the other dishes we tried were tasty and well-prepared.On the service front, things weren't as smooth. We experienced long waits between drink orders, and when we raised the issue, we were informed of staffing shortages. While understandable, it would have been nice to see more effort from the staff to mitigate the delays.Additionally, it came as a surprise to discover a 25% gratuity already included in the bill for our larger party.Overall, while Tabla has potential, improvements in service communication and consistency are needed to enhance the dining experience.

First of all, this place isn't cheap. We expected that. Roll that 10% living wage nonsense cost into your prices on the menu. Seeing something like that is so irritating. Pay your staff. I go out to restaurants all the time and have honestly never seen this anywhere else. It makes me think ill of the owners and managers that they can't get it together to pay their staff appropriately. The waiter was uninformed and nice, but a bit useless. Rude to us at the end, which we didn't understand b/c even though they stuck us with that stupid 10% living wage addition on our bill, we still tipped 20%.Food was fine, drinks were meh and SUPER SLOW. I wouldn't go back but you'll get a decent meal here.

If you’re in Tannersville or close by you MUST go to Tabla! Our group had the best time here. The food was amazing, drinks were delicious and the service was phenomenal. We had a private dinner in their upstairs room and the whole process was so enjoyable & fun to plan with them. Everyone loved our dinner and Tabla had a great variety that satisfied everyone. The ambience was also a highlight and everything was done so well. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. Their entire staff, owner David included, truly went above & beyond for us! I can’t wait to visit Tabla again and will recommend all my friends & family go here when in town!

Tabla is probably the best restaurant in the Tannerville area. There’s a lot of chefly activity going on in the kitchen. The plating is beautiful and the flavours are great. We enjoyed three small plates: a salad, the papas bravas and shrimp in garlic sauce. All of them were perfect we would definitely return.

Tabla gets 5 stars all around. The dishes are inventive but play on classic Spanish tapas dishes like pulpo and Gambas. It feels like a little bit of Spain but loaded with flavor, surprises and a little heat. But then you also have pizza which makes the meal fun and satisfying. Trulyan awesome meal. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Service is great. Cocktails are on point.I’m still thinking about the pulpo and the Caesar.I’m more than I’m happy to drive the 30 minutes from Catskill any day of the week. I just wish we had a restaurant of this quality in our town!

Amazing but very small salads, and apps. $28 detroit margarita pizza should be a $10 pizza. No cheese or sauce and burnt edges, not caramelized.Great lemon cheesecake.Friendly service.Forced service fee in addition to tipping. Will update review after trying another entree

We've had a few really fabulous meals here. And fantastic cocktails! The space is gorgeous, too, with a terrace perched over the creek. They change the menu regularly, so not everything all the time is off the charts, but that's pretty common with chef-y restaurants that change it up. I also really appreciate how regularly it's open, which is uncommon in the Catskills.

Enjoyed another delicious meal at Tabla. The "allspice" cocktail was delicious, and the tahina beet dip was velvety good.I wish I could have given five stars but the wait service was sub-par, unfortunately. She couldn't pronounce a number of the dishes and kept forgetting things -- including serving our drinks to another table. She was sweet and apologetic, but not what I expect for a high-end dining experience. Maybe she needs some rest and a little training.

We’re from Brooklyn and ate here for dinner. The food was excellent. We had the Cesar salad, Hummus, Kofte, fingerlings, and sausage and fennel pizza. All of it excellent, each with its own kick, crunch and taste. Especially the meats. The service was great as well.

2.5 stars but i gave it a 3. For NY its really not cutting it. Manhattan prices yet not delivering on that.Mediocre and super overpriced. Im used to bougie upscale bar food/tapas style but honestly the menu was subpar. It feels like the eclectic mix menu was confused with not much to offer. They also don’t have very good vegetarian options. They should really offer some warm appetizers in the middle of winter. A simple roasted beet salad, rosemary fries and charcuterie board would do. I saw multiple people blank staring at that menu trying to figure out what they could order other than pizza, pita bread or $65 steak. Seems like a better spot for drinks than for dinner with your kids after ski.The shrimp and squid was described to me as a ceviche type seafood salad, it was more like 3 tiny pieces of cooked room temp shrimp and 2 tiny scallops floating on 2 soggy pieces of bread with capers on top. (Sadly, this was actually my favorite dish)The caesar salad was described on the menu as a pretty normal sounding caesar, yet is 90% bitter radicchio. I love salad and bitter greens but it was not balanced at all. I asked to switch for a mixed greens salad and just to make sure i asked if it would be like the caesar with a bunch of the bitter radicchio - I was told that it was all pre batched and that it would be the same. Again written on the menu as mixed greens or cesar you are not expecting to get a bowl of radicchio. The women next to me didnt like her food very much either. They barely touched anything and spent over $100 too.The crispy potatoes were good but they dont give you any sorta fun aioli to go with it. If you need they will give you ketchup. The pizza didn’t look that great for $26.LIVING WAGE FEE ::This was very confusing. We were charged a 10% fee of $8.80 on a $56 bill (which made no sense. Thats more than 10 percent anyways) …..So does this mean you dont pay ur waiters well and expect the customers to make that up and leave another 15-20% tip on top of that? Or does it count as the tip? I feel like this screws the waiters over bc confusion leads to pple not tipping and now the waiters end up with a 10% tip and hopefully in that case it means that living wage fee means they are paying their waiters better than other. Especially for the crazy prices for a simple small tapas n pizza place. We came for the fireplace atmosphere but it wasnt worth it. The wooden benches and chairs were also highly uncomfortable too. Also service was weird. Everyone seemed a bit frazzled and confused and didnt know the menu too well.

We had a lovely meal here and the staff was very kind! The farinata and albondigas were amazing. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars - the menu is not super clear - we thought we were ordering hot mussels but didn’t see it was under “conservas” because of the formatting - so we were served cold mussels in a can for $16. We barely touched it and were still charged - just wished the server would have double checked that’s what we wanted. Overall a good spot to try - just make sure to make sure you know what you’re ordering :)

Quaint, homey and the vibe you want in a special place after a long day. You instantly feel comfortable walking in. The drinks are tasty, refined but not trying too hard. The food is simple and unexpected. Not something you always see. This was a much needed addition to the community. Will be sending many your way. The only thing that would have made this dinner better would be a few snow flurries outside overlooking the creek.

Amazing new restaurant on the main strip of downtown Tannersville. Every dish that came out was better than the last, my favorite was the rotisserie chicken. Fair prices, great service, beautiful interior, warm ambience, unique menu with something for everyone. Highly recommend, Will be back soon.

Overall the experience was good enough, but I wasn’t as impressed by the food/restaurant as I thought I might be based on other reviews. Felt the food was a little expensive for what it was, though this might have been partially due to what seemed to be a quite different menu than I expected. Service was just OK, not bad but the restaurant makes a point to identify the 10% living wage charge at the bottom of the menu, so you’d kind of think the service would be exceptional. While I agree with the concept, why not just make your prices 10% higher and pay a living wage? This way, I felt I was forced to tip 30% for just average service.
