Great experience! It was a little pricey, but the food was worth it. Service can take a little bit, but that's fair, especially when they're busy. The fondue was legit and to die for, though it wasn't really worth adding the charcuterie. The French onion and chili were awesome, though the chili had large chunks of jalapeños that I wasn't a fan of. The french onion needed a tad bit more salt but it tasted great. The burgers were also delicious. The fries were flavorful and crispy. Definitely recommend especially after a long day of winter activities.

The macaroni and cheese was as pure as it comes, truly homemade taste and authenticity. The cheese platter was top notch as well as was the service. Very kind and shows that small towns remain. The atmosphere and variety of the menu could also not have been better. The only comment I have is the price, but yet again, a touristy area, so it comes with the territory

I'm all about supporting the local business and this one is special as all the products they use and to sell are off the local business community. This is a special quality that's hard to see these days.Let's get to the point - FOOD1. They claim the cheese fondue is there most selling item especially during the winter season and I agree with them, however I believe the cheese is ought to be a little more seasoned prior to bringing it up on the mini stove to the customer's table and the bread needs to be a tad bit tougher. ★★★★2. The buffalo wings are fresh as a spring breeze on a good day! I really recommend this item. ★★★★★3. The steak isn't the greatest as it felt to be frozen and the temperature wasn't right. I like it Medium however it was almost well done.★★The gift store/antiques:It has a good vintage countryside collection and a southern vibe to it. The place isn't crowded and is pleasant. You will see a lot of products that are made by local businesses like pure raw honey, maple syrup, bread, gift baskets, coffee, and more.Location:This place is privy to a lot of hikes especially Kaaterskill falls and is pretty close to the gateway cabins. A lot of skiing spots around the area.Parking: Ample street parking available.

I had read all of the reviews and couldn’t wait to try this soup. Beautiful presentation. Lots and lots and lots of cheese atop beef broth. I agree with some of the reviews that it doesn’t taste like traditional French soup, but it wasn’t bad. You literally could have cut the cheese with a knife it was so thick. Lots of onions. The presentation was the best part, but the soup was pretty decent. Also had the pastrami on rye bread. It was just average. Probably wouldn’t go back for either, but it was an experience I wanted to try. The service was good and you can shop around for candy and other treats while you’re waiting on your table or just after your meal. I understand they have live music on the weekends, but unfortunately we were there during the week. Nice little spot to stop in while you’re out in the Catskills.

If I could give this place a 10/5 stars, I would in a heartbeat. The atmosphere is incredible with the antiques strewn across the restaurant giving it a homey feeling that reflects the small town it resides in. The candy shop adds a general store vibe that enhances the homey feeling and there's plenty to choose from to take home with you. The food is incredible, to say the least. My husband and I tried new things the whole trip while visiting the Catskills, but Last Chance Cheese was so good that we had to come back a second time before going home. As someone from the south, I hold high regard to all things BBQ, but I'm surprised (and quite frankly, upset) to say that the pulled pork sandwich rivals all of the pulled pork I've had growing up in NC. Highly recommend this place, and you will be well taken care of by the friendly staff of this establishment. Will 100% be coming back here the First Chance we get.

Great and fast service. Had the peach margarita and the portobello & garlic goat cheese on pita bread. The sandwich was delicious and flavorful, also recommend getting the spicy chipotle mayo as a side. Great prices as well, came out to around 20 per person for food and a drink

At this point I’ve eaten here maybe 5 times and am finally ready to write a review! This is our favorite dinner restaurant after hikes in the area. Their ribeye steak is delicious, whether loaded with their onions and such or as I just tried, with their Brie cheese. They seem to be known for their cheeses and I’m no expert, but I’ve tried a few of their sampler platters and they all taste good. They also have a large selection of craft beers and alcoholic drinks too.Indoors they have a lot of space and it looks like they have an area for outdoor seating too.It doesn’t look like covid spacing protocols are quite in great effect as inside the main section tables are grouped closer than 6 feet together. They have a side indoors area where the seats are spaced further apart. Masks are required and seem to be tolerated by guests and staff as about as you’d expect, wearing them when walking around. All in all I’m glad they’ve survived through the past year and hope they’ll continue to thrive. Looking forward to another visit next time I’m hiking the Catskills again.

First, the positives - the staff was extremely warm, the music was great, the vibes of the place were excellent, and it has a cute shop where you can buy excellent goodies like tea and chocolates. However, the food left a lot to be desired. As much as we hope the cheeses would delight us, we didn't quite enjoy them. The nachos were average (although the jalapenos were super fresh), the cheese fondue was ok, the buffalo wings were extremely hard and chewy, the buffalo chicken wrap was also chewy, the cheesy fries were a disappointment, the split pea soup was decent, and the Fettuccine Alfredo was good.I'd really like to come back here, but I hope the food wows us the next time.

This place is a Gem! We had that local toughness but such sweet charm after they got to know us! Ha! I enjoyed the store such a great ambiance. Our food was good, soup could have been hotter it was an early lunch to be fair. But yes delicious none the less!

Awesome selection of beers, nice menu with unique options. Food was better than average, service was outstanding- especially the gentleman I assume was the manager that come around towards the end. Hooked us up with some to-go beers and chocolates. Gets busy on The Weekends, they do well at keeping up and staying attentive. We had one of the cheese plates and a portobello mushroom and goat cheese wrap.Live music some Saturday’s! No tap beer, but the selection of cans and bottles make up for it

Started the meal with the French Soup. It was tasty. There was a large amount of cheese. For mains I had the Tuna melt and substituted the chips on the side with a Caesar Salad. The tuna melt was tasty but the Caesar Salad was a bit sour and the croutons were burnt. The portions here are on the larger side.

We ordered french onion, goat cheese hamburger, bloody mary, meat loaf, new York steak and beer. I really liked french onion and the hamburger. I think everything was good. But for 5 star I tjink it should be perfect!

Overall, great place and a must try. I was a bit dissapointed with 2 items.. 1. Initially, I was happy to see they had a Reuben knish for $14. I ordered 2, one w corned beef and one w pastrami. I was expecting to see a heaping portion of meat or at least something more than a thin layer of meat especially paying $14 each for a knish. It was good but hardly any meat. 2. I was looking forward to the cheese fondue as I usually love it. It had a taste to it that I did not like too much. Perhaps my taste buds are not refined and that's the taste of a fine aged expensive cheese but I personally did not like it. Overall though, the place is great! All the other dishes that were shared between 5 people were great and the live music was fantastic. The band Speros was there and they were one of the best bands I've heard live in a long time.

Really cute atmosphere and decor. Came here for lunch. You can order at the counter, pay and tip, then find a table to sit at. This is a nice accommodation for a large party to be able to pay separate. I ordered the Portabella Mushroom & Garlic Goat Cheese sandwich. It was delicious but there was way too much cheese on top - I had to scrape some off! The marinated mushroom had a good flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and said it was good as well. Being a group of 10, on the house, we were brought out some chocolates which was a nice touch. We visited the area on a weekend trip before heading home and it hit the spot.

Great place for a drink and a snack. There is a wide selection of beers, and variety of snacks. We had the French Brie starter, which was basically toast with melted Brie and some apple slices and almonds. Many interesting pieces of local history decorate the space.
