After finding out that my long time vet's office is no longer a vet's office(only boarding now after losing their doctors) and calling around frantically all morning, Shop City Animal Hospital was able to get my cat in right away today. Dr. Danbois, the front desk receptionist, and the vet tech were all wonderful. Dr. Danbois was not only thorough, but spoke in a way that I could understand. She answered questions before I could even ask them. I love that they put aside sick visits each day for times when you can't wait weeks for a visit. Highly recommend. I will be transferring all my pets over here! Thank you to your team for finding my baby some relief today!

Dr. Danbois is the best around ! The whole front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable they are able to address any questions or concerns you have and are more than happy to do so, They are always able to get me in with in a week some how some way, regardless of the fact they only have one veterinarian they make it happen! The team was also able to find me a coupon, and save me a chunk on change, which was greatly appreciated ! I highly reconnect shop city animal hospital.

They told me my dog didn’t have fleas and that he had an ear infection.. Tried to scam me into buying their membership for 300 dollars for two dogs. Little to no concern about my poor babies health. Also another confirmed fleas and no infection.

I had a wonderful experience here. My cat was just there to get her nails clipped (which they did seemingly without much of an issue at all). The clipping with the new patient exam (mandatory exam for new cats) was $88 dollars. With the new patient package, I also got a free dose of flea treatment (Revolution) and they applied it to her which was nice. I ended up buying another 6 doses. And as pictured, they immediately gave her a blanket that had a pheromone on it that I hear cats as used to at birth which helped calm her down significantly. My cat seemed to not have the most traumatic time which is what I was afraid of. She seemed fine though. Overall, I’d say the visit was very pleasant. I think I spent roughly 45 mins here.

After 12 years at the same vet, I was denied a refill of antibiotics for my dog 6 weeks after being seen and paying almost $400 out of pocket for an anal gland examination. My options were to wait 2 weeks for the next opening or transfer to a new vet as they are down to 1 doctor for the entire vet office. I was able to get an appointment sooner with a vet that has never seen us before. Save youself the time and money, and take your pets elsewhere.

Dr. Danbois is amazing!! Very informative and reassuring, doesn’t try to push you into a million tests but gives you the education and her opinion and lets you decide what you’d like to do. She is super friendly and caring to my dog as well. Very thorough!!! Cannot recommend her enough! Have been seeing her for years.

Been taking my dogs and cats here for awhile now. Great place. Great vets. Amazing care. The only reason my 11 year old Great Dane is still alive is because this place told me to take my dog to Cortland. She wouldn’t have survived without them directing me there. 10/10 recommend

I was able to get my baby in the same day when I explained my concerns over the phone. He wasn’t drinking or eating and very weak. I wasn’t able to afford the first price and they were able to negotiate a price in my budget with different medication . Pluto is doing so much better and I couldn’t ask for a better place to take Pluto. I will be back ! :)

We have a tough customer, our Jack Russell/Morkie mix.He has tasted a few vets who don't listen to the human that knows the dog!! VCA America @ Shop City has made friends with the vet here. She respects our input and works around the issues our dog presents. You may have to wait to get an appointment, bit it is well worth it for us.

VAC shop city animal clinic is an excellent place for all pet care. I would suggest /advise taking any healthy/sick animal there for care. The only issue I have are some of the prices for some of the procedures. However the vets really care and help to find solutions for your pets and service animals that save there lives and help them to live better and longer lives.

I recently had to go here for an emergency, we thought are very small teacup yorkie was choking and the nearest vet was the shop city one. We brought her in very scared and they took action immediately with no hesitation. They were wonderful from start to finish. I recommend them completely they will always hold a special place on our heart the way they took care of our Bella.

I went Camilus and they turn my dog away even with a muzzle. When I call Shop city, they told me the are train to deal with dogs with any kind of attitude. They too really good care of my dog and that is where my dog will go as long as I live in NY. They are simply the best.

Without a doubt, VCA Shop City is the place to go for veterinary concerns. Every employee is a caring, helpful animal lover. From reception to the Doctors, you will not find a more dedicated bunch. I don't say this lightly - they love my animals as much as I do. The clinic is very accommodating in so far as cost goes and they will never do anything, big or small, without consulting you, they aren't trying to sell you anything. Their knowledge is apparent in the myriad approaches to solving any issues. It's rare that only one option is offered. I have had the pleasure to get to know the Doctors over the years and they are talented and passionate about their work. I've had some veterinary Doctors that are warm, talented and helpful. The staff here is all of those things- only more. And I won't say that they are least expensive, but I will say that they are as fairly priced as possible. If you love your animals and need to see a vet; here you will find a group that loves them as well.

I have been taking my two cats to Shop City Animal Hospital ever since I adopted them from a shelter four years ago. This veterinarian location has always been super professional and friendly. Most importantly, everyone there is very competent. I feel like my cats are in very good hands. My cats are seven and ten so they are a little bit older and my eldest has had some health issues, all of which Shop City has handled beautifully. When there has been a need to refer out to another veterinarian specialty service, they have been quick and understanding. They recently renovated this location and it is very nice inside and extremely clean. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone who has a furry friend :-)

We had our first visit to the Shop City Animal Hospital in April of this year after coming home with our new baby from the Humane Society (we were just going "to look"!!!) From the first time we came in, the staff has been so friendly and knowledgeable...and most important, everyone is SOOO good with our kitty! They examine, poke, prod, give shots.....all while ensuring that she is safe, comfortable and as at ease as possible!! I have had to reschedule appointments - no problem, as the staff is always accommodating. We are very glad our new addition is getting such good health care! THANK YOU TO ALL!!!!

Extremely disappointed that I, a regular customer, called with a potential emergency only to be told they are booked solid and my dog cannot be seen. With bloody diarrhea and straining to make a bowel movement (possible signs of an intestinal blockage that can be deadly) my dog was rejected in favor of scheduled physicals, etc. Cancel my account, she's now going to her new vet who was booked, too. But they know this is potentially critical and told me to be there in an hour.

I waited two months for a vet appointment for my Dog. The day before the appointment, VCA called me and asked me to change my appointment from 5 PM to 4:30 PM. I agreed. then on the day of , VCA called me at 10:30 and asked me to come to a 1230 appointment the same day. Can you imagine a two hour notice? If I had done that, I would’ve been charged for an appointment. I declined and now I’m going to find another vet. I’m done with VCA. Too costly anyway as compared to other vets.

My cat died less than a month after receiving a completely clean bill of health from vet. Never returned my call when he was in emergency care. Continue to send appointment reminders for my dead cat.

Very negative experience after years of our dog being a patient here. Pup was having a health emergency but when we called to get her in we were informed we are no longer a patient due to time lapsed between appointments (pandemic?). Also said they had no record of our Vet ever being assigned to us despite years of care and prescriptions from here. My wife was then hung up on by the front desk staff while asking questions about how to get our sick dog help. Really unfortunate because we have an aggressive rescue and Dr Danboise was so great with her. Maybe just a bad day for them mixed with stress of our dog's situation but feel it's best to look elsewhere now.

When I first started coming here, it was great, so I opened up a care club account with them (basically pet insurance for this specific location).Unfortunately, for the last few months, the wait time for appointments are usually at least two weeks out. My cat is immunocompromised, so she has to see a vet quite frequently, that's why I opted into the care plan. I've had to start bringing her to another vet because she usually can't wait until they have an opening at this location. Now I'm still paying for their care club, which you can't easily cancel, and I'm unable to even utilize it.I want to make sure I mention that the staff here is really friendly, and almost certainly none of this is their fault! They seem to be doing the best they can with what they have.If the scheduling issues improve, I'll gladly update this review!

Dr DanBoise and her staff have been amazing each time I have visited. Through life (and death unfortunately) both the staff and the Dr have showed compassion, empathy, and understanding. Dr DanBoise takes care of your pet just as if it were one of hers (of which she has many). She takes the time to explain everything so that you understand and always puts your pet's quality of life first. Would recommend to family and friends! I forgot the name of the receptionist I was speaking to earlier but she was very nice! I asked her about preventatives for my dog and she gave me every option available to me in detail. I've never had a problem with this place. My dog had dietary problems when he was a baby and the vet really helped! She made it easy on my pocket, she was knowledgable and returned my calls. This place is great.
