For the love of God do not dine in Eddie's. As you enter the dinner you are hit with an overwhelming stench of fishy smell. The waitress forgot to provide creamer and spoons for the coffee. After placing the order we waited 20 mins, as I looked around the amount of empty tables full of people became more evident. Their menu is over bloated, but lacks any decent breakfast specials, who charges 5 bucks extra for potatoes... Eggs were soggy and the potatoes were really scallop not home fries but extra mushy. Do yourself a favor and go to Flos or Pancake house instead. Lastly the sad clown sums up the experience.

This was a nice place to end our beach day! When we got there it was a little bit of a wait but completely understandable as it was Labor Day and they we're only one of a couple places still open for the season. Put while waiting you get to stand next to the dessert case full of delicious looking pies that we now couldn't wait to try. This was our first time here and loved the family friendly dinner feel it had to it, plus the little pigs and family portraits made for many interesting things to look at. The staff was sure moving fast but even in their busy haist everyone was very friendly. There is a lot on the menu! You can get breakfast all day, plus lots of sandwiches, salads, starters, and a few pages of dinner items, then of course a huge list of pies, ice cream sundaes, and other items. It was definitely hard making a decision. For starters we got mozzarella sticks, zip zap shrimp, pickle fries, and meatballs with ricotta. They all taste good like your average restaurant starters, the zip zap shrimp was more like a buffalo shrimp, and the ricotta cheese that came in the meatballs was cold, I do wish they baked the cheese with the meatballs to warm everything but again everything was tasty. For dinner we got a cup of chicken pastina soup, the Ruben, fried clam strips, kids Mac and cheese, lemon dill salmon, and stuffed French toast with Nutella and strawberries (not pictured). Everything was delicious I wish my salmon had more lemon but still tasty, but I did not like the rice pilaf so I would recommend a different side. Everyone was sufficiently full. We couldn't forget dessert and took several slices of pie home that we enjoyed the next day. They were so yummy I forgot to take pictures. In all it was a good dinner at a nice local family establishment, after a day on the beach for a family this would be a great place to dine. I will be back one day just to eat a sundae for sure.

Excellent service. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was loaded and very delicious. I got the Italian Sampler (manicotti, 1/2 eggplant parm, and 1/2 lasagna. Everything was homemade and the sauce was fantastic. My wife had the roast pork. It was some of the most flavourful roast pork I've had in years.Great service, great food, and fair prices. Will definitely be back.

This restaurant was nearly empty and we waited an hour for our food. Sausage and biscuits tasted like cold paste. Chicken riggies were sour as if the cream was spoiled. Cream of cauliflower soup was cold and as thick as mashed potatoes. Even the french fries were cold and soggy. I usually only write five star reviews, but I was so disappointed that I spent $90 on food we could not even eat.

Place is stuck in a time warp but overall not bad. It is overpriced for what you get. $18 fish fry. Service was good and friendly. 50 cents for a refill? 3.00 for the initial Coke? Cmon. The portions were also small along with processed deli ham on the grilled cheese.

This family owned restaurant serving classic American food for more than 80 years is a must when visiting the area. The sandwiches are delicious, onion rings are uniques, amazing burgers...The pies are the reason most people love this place. We loved our server and you always feel someone is making sure you have a great experience.

I tried something new today, BBQ ranch chicken salad. I was not impressed. The corn and black beans had little to no flavor, no spice at all, very watered down. The dressing was good, very mild but good. As always, my husband got the fish fry, and as always, it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The service is always top notch.

I ordered a hot fudge banana split and by the time it was given to me it was all soupy and didn't look like a hot fudge banana split at all. The place was busy and staff was way too slow on a busy day and had to wait forever to be waited on and to get my food and to get my check also. It's way too expensive here and the prices for food are outrageous here.

Tried their famous Hot Ham Sandwich aaaand it was spicy. Wish they could give you a choice to change your side vs ordering an extra side (paying full price for it) and not getting the one it comes originally with. But the sandwich was good. The Italian greens were very good as well.

The service was good and the food was tasty. We stopped by for a Sunday afternoon lunch and were not disappointed. We ordered the steak and fried chicken sandwich both were delicious. We also got a large order of French fries to split between us. The portion was generous and we couldn't finish it. Overall it was a good meal.

There’s no place like Eddies. The weight staff is superb. The food is the ultimate diner food. The atmosphere is at special combination of Lakefront and Beach town. Five stars.Parking: The parking is across the street in a municipal lot, but it is free. During the busy season, you will definitely need a little bit of patience, but you’ll always find a spot.Kid-friendliness: What kid doesn’t want to eat at Eddies?

Some of the food was okay and other meals were just bad. No one in my party really enjoyed their meal. The service was pretty good and our waitress was very nice. Overall if it were not for the food this would have been a good dinner, but the food was very disappointing.

First time here and unfortunately was disappointed. Paid $54 for 2 dinner entrees that were old and cold. Hot chocolate tasted like hot water. $22 for the fried chicken dinner special, corn was served cold, gravy on the potatoes was solidified, and the chicken literally tasted like banquet frozen chicken. Overcooked, dry and rock hard. Spaghetti special was not good. The 2 meatballs were decent, the pasta was old and hardened…Was asked how our food was and when we politely explained just a couple of the issues, the woman up front said that can’t be. Pasta is always made fresh to order. I told her the plate was on the table still and the pasta was rock hard. She said “oh yeah, it’s the special tonight” so I’m assuming on “special” nights the food isn’t made to order but in bulk. Not an apology at all instead just silence when checking out. Still left the server a good tip even though we didn’t eat anything except the salad and side order of greens, not her fault!. Overall just disappointing for what we hoped would be a new spot to get dinner. Definitely needs some TLC

Great old fashioned diner with wonderful food. Loved the decor, waitstaff wear dresses, and paper placements. This restaurant is so clean and well run. The family founders can be found all over the restaurant with pictures and newspaper clippings. Totally nostalgic in a wonderful cozy beachy way. The buttered toast tastes like the butter was just churned. The home fries are awesome with an everything favored seasoning and garlic. My hubby had the famous hot ham sandwich which was amazing! We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our lunch here today. Me, my mother, and my wife stopped in. I had the Eddie's famous steak sandwich with hot peppers and potato chips. Wife had hot ham sandwich with chips. Mom had corned beef on rye with chips. The three of us enjoyed our food and it was priced right. We had soft-serve ice cream for dessert. Even the coffee was good. The waitress was terrific; a very attentive and friendly young woman. Outside, we messed up on the street parking. After we put $2.00 in the meter for two hours of parking, we looked up and saw that we could have parked for free with my mother's handicap parking tag. No big deal. This was a great stop...

Family owned since the 30's, best banana cream pie EVER! I drive 3 hours just for the pie! The Stewart family has great service, free parking, and amazing food at the magnificent Oneida Lake.

Went here Saturday night with friends and family with a bad experience. I ordered the special prime rib and it was not cooked properly. It looked like it had been sitting out all day. Everthing was extremely salty. The salad was soggy. My wife ordered chicken and biscuits with no better results. It was bland and looked like something from a horror movie. Then to add insult to injury, I was in the bathroom 6 times overnight and still have stomach pains. Although the service was good I will never return nor will I let anyone I know eat here. Bad bad bad

Following my blood drive appointment in Cleveland, N.Y., I visited Eddie's on March 29th. Greeted with the general layout of a 50's diner and Elvis music, I thought this was going to be quite the experience. I was right. The homemade chips were addictive, the burger was properly cooked and expertly seasoned. The server was very attentive. All in all, a terrific time was had. If you're visiting Sylvan Beach, give Eddie's a visit.

We enjoyed our lunch at Eddie's, which is an old fashioned diner. We ordered the Eddie's Special (sandwich) and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The wrap was just ok, but the Eddie's Special was good. Our 1 year old had the mac and cheese from the kid's menu. It could have used more cheese and the macaroni pieces were very large so had to cut it up for him. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for an old diner feel.The server had a serious demeanor, but checked in on us and did a good job.The coconut cream pie looked good but didn't have much flavor to it.

Eddie's is an absolute treasure. The Hot Ham is to die for! The house made chips were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The menu is huge and you can't go wrong with anything on it, but make sure you try the Hot Ham at least once. Be sure to save room for dessert too as their made in house pies can't be beat. If pie isn't your thing, they have plenty of ice cream options. Congrats on your 86th season!

This is the absolute worst place to go lose all your money. Seriously for the price you pay it is not worth going. The food is garbage. You get the smallest portions that are most likely frozen. They serve spoiled food. Got two of my family members sick from serving them spoiled milk. If I could leave a negative review I absolutely would. And that small container is ten dollars of mashed potatoes. Would you pay that?
