We ordered eggplant, the Italian burger and french onion soup. The eggplant was rather poor quality in flavor, the burger had a fishy taste to it, maybe the buns somehow came in contact with fish but I dont think thats part of the Italian burger and the french onion soup was actually quite bland more so than a subtle taste you'd usually find. But the atmosphere was nice and the hostess and waitress were very nice and accommodating.

The wait staff was phenomenal. pleasant and thanked us many times for coming. The menu has everything under the sun on it. Our food was hot fast and delicious and they even let us pick our own table. Drinks were refilled without requesting . I can't wait to go back to sample more of the extensive menu.

Totally old school place with paper ads for your plates. The covered Italian sandwich was as good as advertised and the fried haddock was really solid. Service was fast and friendly.

Great food, great service, amazing sunset views on the lake with the outdoor seating area we enjoyed the breeze and the being able to feel like we were a part of the scenes instead of being inside watching out. Very relaxing undertones, much needed R&R. In this area it's harder to find them both because of the way they have put the parking lot closer to the water it's not left much room for beach side effects, so we had a prime seat at this point.. loved it.Parking: Paid parking beach parking lot

Absolutely awesome place! Owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the decor is super interesting and the food is fantastic. As a vegetarian I was delightfully shocked to see so many awesome options on their menu! I actually had a hard time choosing what to order. Will absolutely make this a stop on our next trip through! Oh, and make sure to ask about the chicken of wine

We went to The Canal View on 02/20 with a group of friends. I had the Reuben, my boyfriend had the Shaved Ribeye & Italian Greens Sandwich. The food was very good. Our waitress Lisa, was great as well. Thank you, we will be back soon!

Canal View is more than just a great view of Sylvan Beach and the water way that connects it to the inland canal. Their pasta dishes are amazing! The Ruben Sandwich is also great. I love love love their Sausage Riggies and the Baked Ziti is also very good. All our dinners were hot and fresh. You have have have to try their pies also. Especially the coconut cream pie lol All the waitresses are very friendly and gave us super quick service. We love sylvan Beach and Canal View is another reason to come. Enjoy!

You can’t beat the location of this restaurant. Right by the canal on one side and the lake on the other side. It is a large restaurant and always busy. There is outdoor seating. There are not many healthy vegetable options on the menu. I ordered the broiled haddock and there were no healthy side options that I could have with it. The fish was overcooked and not much flavor. Needless to say that it had no nice presentation. The Italian style greens were good!!!

Great place for afternoon lunch. The Bison Burger was a small portion, but was packed with flavor. The homemade chips are the most addictive. Leave you licking your fingers.Be sure to ask to be seated outside and enjoy the fresh breeze and a cocktail.

It's an excellent restaurant with outdoor dining and great views of the lake from inside; also. People enjoy the foid. The portions are large! I would like more gluten free options. It can be crowded, but that is because they are good at what they do.Parking: The restaurant parking ilot is often filled and the only option is the awkward paid parking at Sylvan Beach.Wheelchair accessibility: Poor

We have been coming to Canal View for the 14 years we have lived in the Beach. Great family place! I hate seeing the bad reviews from someone with an unruly toddler, family friendly does not mean screaming kids! If your child is antsy, let them run around the park before you sit down to eat. If he or she is still anxious, Pizza King makes some great food you can easily eat at a nearby picnic table and let your kid run wild!Once you do sit, the food is always great. It is all scratch made so sometimes takes a minute when they are busy but always worth the wait! Servers are friendly and efficient, hustling their butts off to keep the summer traffic happy. Tip them well, they deserve it.

Love, love, LOVE Canal View! Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and out of this world service. Special shout out to servers Nicole, Kristie, and Carol! The place is family friendly and my 7 year old daughter had a wonderful experience when we took her with us!Kid-friendliness: Super family friendly! My 7 yo daughter really enjoyed the experience!

Went there 1 week ago took 1 hour to get fish fry & burger. We had the dinners which stated rolls included had to ask for them. Waitress told us sweet potato fries included with dinner but on bill was charged $2.99 extra. Other couple with us had same problem too of extra charges. When we brought it up to waitress she immediately got the owner who stated waitresses can know all the extra charges it would take to long for ordering. We got no credit on our bill the sweet potatoe fried were soggy & greasy. Our friends got a $1 credit on their bill. All in all will not return to restaurant again.

Beware !!!!!! .Me and my two girlfriends waited 30 minutes to be seated and soon as we where seated COCKROACHES started to run across the table. My girlfriend was trying to put a plate over one while I smashed one and left it under a napkin . We IMMEDIATELY got up and told the staff .And he went over and looked and said do you want to sit someone place else . He was likenot even upset or Fazed by it . Wow 😮 we left very upset .

As a mother of two kids, I find your response to the previous complaint about your business pretty unprofessional. You pointed fingers in the wrong direction.As a parent of two, its embarrasing and awkward when our kids act out. But do we not deserve a nice meal that we PAY for?Did any of the staff offer any assistance to the family? As a "family friendly" establishment, perhaps you could have been more friendly towards the toddler who just needed to run and gave him a nice distraction or at least tried to help the parents out.And I would EXPECT that as a family friendly establishment you at least to be understanding. Things happen. Kids act out. And YES, they make Messes!!! It's all things you need to professionally be able to cope with if you call yourself family friendly.In my eyes, family friendly means any and all ages. Maybe you need to adjust your heart or change your fricken labels. :)
