The pet store has one of the most kindest and friendliest people out of everywhere in New York! Believe me I called and been to other places with my wife to search for our now beloved puppy Parabellum and I can tell you with full confidence everywhere else either has rude people or they just want your money. The people not workers are amazing at what they do and care for the soon to be pet parents and it’s honestly astonishing how well they handle there business! I don’t say workers because these people treat you like friends, that’s why I call them people and not workers. They’re not in it for the money they’re goal is to give the lovely pets a new home. Too include aside there marvelous character persona, they give free stuff to start out your adventure and life with your new pet(s) so come on, where else do you get that kind of delightful and grateful attitude from?!? On top of all these great things you can bring your dog or cat back to get a free nail trim/cut! We can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for us and for our new puppy, they also recommend various things you may not happen to know by other pet stores like when to give them a bath, what times to start feeding, when to go to the vet and etc! I wish there was a way to get the community to support them more and get them more recognition because they’re honestly the best! And they’re prices are unbeatable compare to the services you get at other places! Hope everyone found this useful and spread the stores recognition further!

I just got a beautiful Cavapoo from here! They have the best prices in nyc (trust me, I did a lot of research). The goodie bags they give you are filled to the brim. They also encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns after taking your new pup home. Overall great experience- highly recommend !

I had no intentions of buying a puppy I had walked into the store 2 days ago and walked out with a puppy , I received really good service from Paula they give really good prices for dogs with many other things included you can’t go wrong I will defiantly be going back for another puppy.

Please someone help all these poor animals at this store. The owner miss treats them by pulling on there hair and throwing them into the cages. I bought one dog from here and seen the way he treats them, so sad 😞

Please save the dogs here, the owner does not care about them at all. There’s no air conditioning in the place, the first and last time I went in there I physically saw the owner pick up the dog by his neck and throw him back into the cage. The dogs look super sick and scared please report and get this place shut down !!

I can't say enough about the Owner Steve. He is a cool guy who answered all of our questions. You can tell he has been in the business for over 45 years due to his knowledge and experience. My wife and I never felt rush or pressured to purchase our 4 month old (10/21/18)Miniature Dauchund.The purchase price was more than fair and the starter kit he provided us was way more than we expected. The other dogs were treated very well. Yes, there was a slight dog smell, but that is expected when going to any pet shop or animal shelter. Overall, my wife and I are very happy with the newest member to our family.Thank you Steve for making this transition happen very easy with no issues or hassle. I would certainly recommend friends and family if they are interested in getting a furry friend.

I bought my puppie a bichon poodle . She is so cute and still with us . She is turning 3 years old next month. Prices are affordable . I am visiting him again for a Yorkie Terrier . Steve is a little unfriendly but He is a nice person.

I know the owner of this shop since 8th Grade, he is caring and does care about the animals. He is very generous. I have 3 dogs from him and they are all healthy one is now 4 and 2 are 7. He gtds dogs for a year and he has relationships with a couple of vets in which you can use the services for up to a year. My Paddy had cherry eye months later, I took him to one of the Vets he is associated with, surgery was done with any cost to me. Love my pups thanks Steve

Please do not support pet stores. They usually get their animals from mills and it’s a horrible experience for them. No reputable breeder would sell to pet stores. Don’t believe the owner if they’re saying otherwise, maybe they don’t even think they’re doing anything wrong. Do your own research if you don’t believe me!Adopt don’t shop, plenty of abandoned animals from irresponsible owners need more loving homes!

Very confused to see all the good reviews below as I’ve had many experiences as a child coming to this store only to see the puppies in cages without any linings, poop and pee all over almost as if they’ve never been cleaned, and the pups literally shaking of fear or literally dead on the inside. And to this day, it’s the same thing. It’s hard to deny the abuse these pups are facing and it’s more heartbreaking to see people continue to come to this business and support them. I’m all for supporting small businesses but not when they’re outright committing animal abuse and neglect. Save your time and money, and reach out to the local councilman and animal shelter (I’ve tried).

First of all, this pet shop is family owned and we should all support local and family owned businesses to help with diversity and our community. This shop has been in Sunnyside longer than I have, which is over 25 years.The first thing you will notice is the owner, (Tall, light skin gentleman) and at first he appears as if he has no interest and does not want to talk very often. But dont be fooled.Like many similar reviews, you will see that if you have a direct question or are there to ACTUALLY shop; he is more than willing to help and make sure that you leave the door satisfied and even willing to lose money to make sure you will be happy with the pet you decided to buy.Heck, he is the ONLY person in the neighbourhood who makes Halloween fun for children in our community and help them get the experience of having a pet fish during their early childhood.Most people may assume this is a sales tactics. But if you really do the math, you will see that his actually at losing money by doing the Halloween event. (Cost of labor, electricity for decorations, rent, and self pay)I recommend to spent some time there and go there often to shop, he slowly opens up. You will realize he is a man who cares about his business but also goes out of his way to make sure others are happy and satisfied when they decide introduce a new member into the family (Pet).

STAY AWAY! I rarely give 1-star ratings (you can check my past reviews) but if I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. The pets are kept in such horrible condition, that I honestly can’t believe this shop is still open. The owner seems super shady and the vibe is totally off. The only way this place will be closed down is if we start spreading the word about how they don’t care about pets, only profit. Please don’t give this place your business.

Bought a puppy from them 4 months ago and Steve was a bit unfriendly at first ,but in the end he gave us a lot of food and advice of how to take care of the puppy. I love my puppy and I’m really glad he is healthy!

I agree that the place has a very strong oder and that it is absolutely packed with fish, birds, cats and dogs probably to many in one room. BUT, my husband and I bought a cat their 4 years ago and we could not be happier with our purchase. She is a siamese cat and only cost us $200. She has the BEST temperament I have ever seen in a cat, so I don't think there was any mistreatment going on in the shop... I also know they sell quite a lot so the animals are not sitting in their for long periods.

Found adorable puppy. Whacky owner said to leave name and number for owner of puppy to call me. Never got a call and then was told puppy was probably already sold and to look somewhere else. Puppies are either on consignment or he holds them for other people.

This place is so dirty and smells like it has no air circulation or anything. The cages for the birds are dusty and appear to have lots of dirt or mold behind them on the walls. I feel awful for those poor animals in there.Any pet store can smell but they shouldn't! It needs shut down and those animals taken to a better store. Very disappointed that a store can remain open in such poor conditions.
