This is the best Ace Hardware in the area. I've been to 4 other locations in Bergen County and this one, just over the state border in Suffern is top notch. Excellent employees who are so helpful and it's a beautiful, huge store. When I bring family or friends in to shop they are in shock with how well kept, organized, and well stocked this store is. Can't say enough about them!

Rainbow Ace Hardware has the best staff I've ever encountered in any store. Literally every person I've spoken to during every visit has been nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. The store is clean, fully stocked, and has tons of random stuff!

Went there for the first time in Suffern New York to get some keys made. Was greeted at the door by a friendly associate who asked me if they could assist me, which was nice and reminded me of how great service used to be. I was directed to the exact department I needed and was assisted by another very professional associate who made my keys quickly and efficiently in a polite manner, handed me my new keys in a plastic bag along with my original key and directed me to the checkout counter. The associate there also greeted me with a very pleasant hello how are you? Smiled and asked if I found everything I needed and checked my items out like he was proud to work at the store and was able to make a customer happy! Excellent service!! Excellent professionalism!! Excellent greeting!! Easy to find via GPS!! Excellent overall experience!!

An actual hardware store, not an odd combination of contractors' supplies and a few cart stuffers. And every employee knows where everything is, at least in his/her department. Obviously above minimum wage folks.The prices may be a bit higher than the HD joints, but I've never left without getting what I came from

Needed a bbq grille quickly ! Saw the manager Bernell and grill was assembled and delivered in less than an hour! Bought an exchange tank and was grilling the same day! Always shop at ace because they have everything and don’t normally charge delivery or assembly!

This place is so great, they have everything you could possibly want for your home - cleaners, decorations, appliances, paint, welcome mats, utensils, toiletries, tools, hardware, candy, etc. It's a more welcoming and friendly Home Depot, CVS & Home Goods all mixed together. The employees are all super friendly, and very knowledgeable/helpful in their departments. Paint mixing is super fast and easy and I have received some good advice on home DIY projects at this store. The pricing is reasonable and the store has a great family-feel atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Ace Hardware in River Edge and Suffern are great hardware stores to pickup househould maintenace things in your house. I usually go to the Ace Hardware in River Edge but the Suffern location is close to my house.

This store is packed with merchandise on two levels plus an outside plant area... Prices are average, parking is plentiful. The store representative was eager to assist me ,but unfortunately did not know how to show me how to use the item. It turns out it was actually broken. I did buy a bear 🐻 proof garbage 🗑️ can at the price of $335.00 🤕. Although quite an expensive item to keep your garbage in, it still beats having your garbage thrown all over your lawn by the 🐻 family or possibly being greeted by them unexpectedly. Aces prices was a few dollars less than another store for the same item. Overall a pleasant place to shop!

Wow, they just have everything in this store. Like, everything. Every time I go I find a new aisle. Saved my life because they carry Benjamin Moore Aura paint and I bought it on Sunday afternoon so it was waiting for my contractor on Monday morning at 7am. That's pure magic to a Bergen County-ite. Also my husband got a Blackstone griddle and they let us take the already assembled one. Brought it up in the elevator and put it in the car. It weighs a ton! Grilling dept is impressive. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Good hardware store, lots of options. Way better experience than the big stores like Home Depot and Lowes. The staff is actually helpful and knowledgeable. I often choose to go here over the big stores for those reasons. I could take off a star due to a more limited selections than the big stores or because of the slightly higher prices, but the prices are pretty close and the more limited selection is only a pain once in a blue moon, with them typically having what I need the vast majority of the time. The customer service more than makes up for those shortcomings, so 5 stars it is.

Never coming here again. Everyone is nice except for this one older guy who name starts with a B. Very rude! I'm just minding my business shopping and he asked me to sign up for a rewards card and its under my husband name so he heard the bday and started calling me "Gemini" and saying he doesn't like them but that's not even my zodiac sign. He told another cashier "she's a Gemini" likes its a bad thing and I just don't like that bullying mean girl energy he got going on. He doesn't even know me like that. Throwing jabs disguised as jokes.He said he is a Taurus and I tried to diffuse the situation by saying I liked Tauruses. He is talking about Geminis when he's the one needing an attitude adjustment.I'm not gonna judge anyone based solely on their sign but this is one bitter bull. Needs to work on his manners and people skills. I came to the store 2x in one day to get what I needed for a shelf project and he was nonstop on me. I don't want nor need that kind of attention from a man I do not know. He offended my husband too who isn't even there to defend himself.When I politely called him out and said "thats not nice. Stop being mean" he got mad and went into victim mode. He said I was being mean for calling him mean, lol. Make it make sense. I should just stand there and let a man pick on me and smile I guess. Gonna go to a different Ace next time and avoid this drama altogether. Idk why I attract these types often. Jeezus

Not like a big box store, but a decent selection nonetheless. It's really about their staff. Helpful, engaging and incredibly nice. Prices aren't the lowest, but still very competitive. And you get reward dollars on purchases for future use.

Used to love this store. Today was the third time in a row I purchased something that was mostly broken and didn't work. Nobody who works there knows where anything is and it's faster for TSA to get you on a plane than to check out at this store. Never going back.

Was greeted by a staff member as soon as I walked in, they radioed a colleague to let them know what I was looking for, and I was out out of the store in less time than it would take to walk across Home Depot’s parking lot. I could not have asked for a better experience!

Ace hardware is such an amazing store. When you come in they have someone greeting you and asking if you need assistance. Whatever aisle they direct you to they then radio for another employee to meet the customer in the aisle to assist them further. The manager Bernel is super friendly and helpful as well as all of his staff. I don’t think I have ever entered the store and not been assisted by at least 2 employees.This is also the second time they have let my Girl Scout troop sell cookies at their store and they are always so accommodating (the weather was not great and they allowed us to sell inside the store). I have previously seen Boy Scouts selling popcorn at the location as well. They are definitely here for the Suffern community! Lastly it is not just hardware and prices are reasonable so this should always be your first stop before going to any other store!

They go above and beyond! The store feels like home - all the staff are welcoming, warm and truly know their stuff! I will go here for all my home needs and know I'll get honest help and great service. Burnell, especially went out of his way to assist us in the search for a BBQ. After much searching for a particular model and trying to get it shipped from across the country, it was clear we couldn't get the model we were looking for. Burnell helped us find the perfect grill, had reviews, prices, and information on hand to help us make the best decision and even had it built and delivered. I can't thank him enough!

I recently purchased a Big Green Egg Medium grill at the Rainbow Ace in Suffern. The overall experience was pleasant. Bernell and the team at this Ace location were extremely helpful, from special ordering the grill to at-home delivery and assembly. There was just a slight delay with delivery that could have been better communicated. However, ultimately I was completely happy with the product and careful assembly by the Ace worker. Thank you!

Great store! Large selection and good people working there. You can tell customer service is a focus and it is top notch. I choose to go to Rainbow Ace Hardware even though there are 3 closer Ace locations near me. It is worth the trip especially for my Benjamin Moore paint needs.

Store is amazing! They have so much more than hardware. Adam helped me with a spare key to an older car. He cut it and programmed it in such a short time. Then he programmed a remote too. He was so helpful and knew his business. Great employee and a truly nice guy. Great employees are the key to a great business. I will be stopping in there often.
