This review is long over due, but I just wanted to say how wonderful William and Jessica were customer service wise. First I had won a decent amount of corals in reefbid. Then that weekend we got hit with a huge storm it upstate Ny lost power for the whole weekend. Well I lost most of my tank. I emailed and called they not only canceled my order no questions asked, but took it a step forward and said they would send me a care package next time i ordered. Well flash forward 1.5 months I do a small order, and William came through for me. It was extremely nice of him and really stood out to me that this is what this hobby is about, helping your fellow reefer. Going the extra mile. So when I can afford to do more orders with them I’m with them for life. Amazing corals, and amazing customer care! That you again poto and William!!!Also- William seemed to have a six sense and sent corals I would had and did bid on. Made my day week! Thank you again! You guys are amazing

Great online source for your Coral . We’ve been reaping for several years and are always very hesitant of ordering online. We’ve had a couple bad experiences, but this was not the case. Our questions were answered promptly, and our coral is the healthiest we have ever purchased, even after being delivered in freezing weather. They even responded with care tips, and where the coral were sourced from whether it was aqua, cultured, Mary, cultured, or wild harvested. My wife and I will definitely be using pieces of the ocean services in the future.

One of the best coral purveyors in the United States and probably the best in NY, specializing in SPS. The owner has an eye for Acropora and it is evident that he and his staff are true coral enthusiasts and experts. They’re LPS and soft coral selections are also top notch. What is apparent the moment you enter the store is just how well taken care of all fish and corals are. I didn’t see a single unhealthy/necrotic specimen (unlike pretty much every other store I’ve been to around NYC). These guys know and love reefing. I’ve included some frags I got from POTO below.

Great to talk the hobby here, thanks for always having healthy coral and other things to keep up with my tank. For those who have not yet taken the trip, plenty plenty LPS and SPS. Some (lots) of real unique. Great shop.

As a reefer for over 20 years I have to say POTO has excellent quality of coral, and whenever they have fish it's excellent quality as well. My only issue is that the auction seems like a scam, every time I try to bid for a coral it gets outbidded for a ridiculous amount. Spoke to fellow reefers and everyone experienced the same situation. Seems like the staff is in on the auction and covertly outbids everyone of the price of the coral isn't to their liking.

My wife and I (ReefKatz)are from Philadelphia and we drove up to the shop to see what it was like. Everyone working was super helpful and very inviting. I saw an interview with Kenny and Keith (reef bum) and was intrigued and that’s what brought me to the site where I saw the auction. I made a few small purchases and decided to pick up in store so that I can see the facility in person. I must say it was VERY impressive. The care that the team showed when dealing with us as well as the tanks and it’s livestock was inspiring and we have continued to shop with POTO. We tried ordering and the experience was equally impressive. The time and care that goes into the packaging was phenomenal. I want to once again thank you for what you do and thank you for being a great business to the community. I can’t sing your praises enough. I’m sure people tell POTO all the time how great they are but I wanted to make sure that I spent the time to say it myself and let others know.

Great Shopping Experience & A Ton of Fun!This was my first time shopping with these guys and it took place during a live sale on Reef-2-Reef. It was AMAZING! These guys are top notch! They have great deals, fantastic coral, beautiful quality and are very customer-focused, knowledgeable and courteous. Friendly staff the focus on acropora. They have so many beautiful sps . And other corals too.One of the guys is a specialist on fresh water shrimp. Witch they have a section.I wish they were in queens lol so I don’t have to travel far. Jk

I was a first time customer at this shop today and I was amazed to what I saw.these guys that work there are so skilled and dedicated.I felt at home.being able to see how every piece of coral was just blooming to its max potential was just amazing,I felt like a kid at a candy store.I’ve shopped around for corals for over 6 years sometimes hours away from home and I feel like I found a treasure when I walked into this location.I urge everyone to please visit there shop or website

The quality and diversity of staff, fish and corals is what keeps me coming back. The staff is very knowledgeable and strives to help out the reefers in any shape or form. The superior quality and health of the frags and fish left me in awe. Would highly recommend to pay a visit. Even the live sale on reef2reed was amazing and lots of fun.

I ordered from them online, and when I realized I hadn't put in the coupon code, I emailed them asking if there was a way to apply the code, they quickly responded and refunded me the difference. Once I received the corals and put them in my tank they looked as bright and colorful as they did online. This is my biggest issue with ordering corals online, but Pieces of the Ocean solved it.

Place is bright and clean. He sells RO water and supplies . Great place to deal with. Great assortment of fish as well.

This is one of the best reef stores and the best acro store in the northeast US. From medium to very high end sps frags and colonies so you can see what you’re buying. Only negative is the traffic on staten island and red light cameras.
