They deserve zero star! I made the appointment and confirmed at 12:30pm, they refused to take me in because I was 10 minutes late. They asked me to come back at 2pm just because I was 10 mins late; however, there was no appointment or other dogs while I was wondering there until 12:50pm. It could have been done in 3-5 mins(which ended up it was less than a 3 mins thing!)It is ridiculous they refused to take us in. I came back 1:38pm and I was the first one in line. There were 2 more dogs after me and the guy Mark decided to get them in and did their appointments before me! Why the heck would they ask me to come back at 2pm and said they would check me in right away but then they took care of other people while I came back at 130ish and wait in line first!??This is unacceptable and unbelievable!!The vet gave her a shot and it’s done in 3 mins!This place is a joke and I’ll never come back here!

I purchased my dogs food online on Friday afternoon. Never received an email confirming my order but I saw that it was still registering on the Petco app. Next day, I wake up and still no email. I figure I’ll just go to the store and see what’s going on. When I get to the store I had to wait in line for 15-20 minutes until an extremely rude store associate attended me started scolding me for coming to get my dog’s food too early. I explained to her that I purchased it yesterday because my dog needed the food. She continued to walk me to the aisle to “see if it was even available” and when I pointed the bag of dog food out to her in the aisle she looked away and said “well there you are” and walked away. I had to look for another attendant to help me with the bag of food to my car. I have to purchase my dog’s food at least once every three weeks. I would rather not go through this hassle when I’m paying $90 pretax for dog food every three weeks. Thank you.

Do not use the grooming services. My dog was left in a drying cage. When I arrived to pick him up after an hour and a half he was not finished, in a cage for an unknown amount of time. The person who was supposed to be working with him named Katie was rude, frazzled and threw him at me. His heart was pounding and was very warm! Not to mention did not receive a haircut in that time. Never again….

The treatment I received from the vet's assistant is terrible, they send an email saying that my dog doesn't have toys that he needs a bath and a haircut and that his mental health is not good and that he doesn't receive rewards just because we don't buy in the store? We didn't take him back for his court there because they do what they want I said not so short and when they arrive for a little and they shave him... I'm sorry but making bad comments to force the consumer to buy in their stores is in bad taste.Now the customer service is terrible the staff is not trained to call it is really a waste of time.The service changes depending on the store because I have had all the problems on Staten Island so I will not return to that store and for obvious reasons we will change the vet.

Yes everything was good except no one on the floor to assist clientsThe experience could of been more complete if your staff was more knowledgeable about products breaking it down to each pets of size and preferences but overall l knew you could have more staff Richmond Avenue store staff were knowledgeable traveling to your store is overwhelming for clients l hoping you speak to someone in Corporate office we need more locations

Posting it here is not my intention, but the store manager (she named herself Lea) called me in the morning on 3/26/24 for 10 mins trying to defend her staff in anyway about an complaint back in November 23. During the call, she accused me that I discriminated her staff by saying “old lady”, I told her that my English is not good since I am not a native English speaker. I told her not to go that route because I wasn’t trying to insult anyone by just describing old, and old is not an insult word to me. There was a lot of nonsense she said in the call. She also said I am not a professional so I shouldn’t tell their staff what to do, and I shouldn’t give them a bad review after 5 months later and not complaining to the manager immediately. I told her the reason I was writing the bad review and a good review to the other petco is I got a very exceptional good service in the other petco and I think that I should let the management know there is a difference quality between these petcos around the city. For more detail about the incident: Please avoid this petco location 165 Bricktown Way Suite 1c, Staten Island, NY 10309, it was one of the worst vet services I had ever experienced. I brought my dog here because he had a wound on its tail caused by the anal glands. The doctor didn’t give us any explanation or what would be the solution or procedure that would perform on my dog. They took my dog and saying it would take several mins for the “Checkup”, after my dog came back, it had its tail shaved with a not fitting recovery cone on its neck. The Vet showed no patient and no interest on explaining anything to us and the Assistant was showed really annoyed by our questions. All we asked after all the nonsense is to give us the bigger size cone, the assistant(old lady) try to hold a nail trimmer to cut my dog wrong size cone, I said you should’ve find a proper scissor instead of a nail trimmer to cut off the cone, however, I have to find myself a way to cut off the wrong size cone in the end. The lady was shouting us from the beginning to the end of the appointment, we were scared and my dog showed discomfort the whole time. I hope the management can look into this and give me a proper explanation on why petco allow their staff to treat customer and animal like that.

Worst store, I bought 3 salt water fish from there 2 weeks ago . 2 of them died, I took pictures of them and threw them out. I went into store with receipt, pictures, video and bags I bought the fish in .They did not give me any money back and dismissed me. Manager was very disrespectful and rude , do not go here. I was told I “googled the pictures” lol. I had a video of me putting them in my tank lol. Then completely ignored . Manger was just not nice . Think it was very unfair treatment and not good costumer service . Lost a life long customer had dogs here for years , fish too. Will never go back. What made it better was that the same person that rang me up when I bought the fish was there too, just funny

Tried to have petco renew my dogs prescription food. They never reached out to my vet. Called and asked to speak to a supervisor . No one called me back. Received an email 10 days later . Purchased food at a vet to make sure my dog had food. I WILL NEVER USE PETCO AGAIN.

Good afternoon, I hope corporate sees this but I just witness poor management and customer service at this location. The general manager Melissa needs to be spoken too. Not only did she yell at a very upset customer that was having an emergency in the groomer but she speaks down to her own staff. This is not the first time I have witness it. The staff at the groomer, main store and Vetco have always been very nice but the I feel terrible for them that they have to work under her management. Her attitude made a bad situation worse.In regards to your response, I never said your partners. Please reread as I wrote that the groomer, Vetco and staff have always been nice and attentive. I wrote the manger MELISSA needs to be spoken to. She yelled at your customer and your employees. She’s lucky it wasn’t me she was taking care of cause we have had problems! Melissa is the manager and is called upon when there is an issue, if that’s the way she handles situations you won’t have any more customers. It’s a disgrace what happens there.

I booked private lessons for my dog. Apparently website booked something incorrectly. They probably had a glitch. I spoke with trainer after that and he scheduled the time of lesson and said that we will figure out the payment when I come in. When I came in, Rocco the trainer said that I can pay today but can’t have a lesson the one he scheduled for me. When I tried to remind him of our conversation that he booked me and my dog for four pm, he turned around and left. He is arrogant, impolite and probably too lazy to give a lesson. He is probably the same way with dogs. Do not take your pets to him. I would not trust him with my dogs.

We went to this vetco location couple months ago. I wrote this comment because this office manager “Lea” called to my boyfriend this morning and blamed him why he gave them 1star review. This is very ridiculous. She doesn’t even care about their customer and their service. She didn’t listen to us and keep blaming to us and told us don’t go to their vetco for future and hang up the phone.What kind of this customer service? Is this how vetco treat their customer and pets?Last time we went to this vetco because my puppy has tail biting problem. They put the wrong size collar on my dog. We requested talk to vet one more time and asked to change the bigger size collar. The vet assistant “Flank” being extremely impatient. After that we talk to the vet and they don’t have bigger size collar and tell us go to pet smart by ourself. Flank tried to use the nail trimmer to cut the collar??? Who else would use pet nail trimmer to cut the plastic collar? It doesn’t make sense. She can’t even cut it and made my dog feel so uncomfortable. We told her to get the scissors and do it by ourself. This was extremely unprofessional and terrible. She was rough on my young nervous dog. This psycho vetco made a total mess out of our dog records. And they called my dog an aggressive dog. We paid for this abuse and this terrible customer service. Never again going back. They definitely need a customer service training and basic knowledge training. This is the WORST VETCO EVER.

I was hesitant to bring my goldendoodle to Petco for his grooming after hearing some bad stories but we took the chance because of bad experiences at other dog groomers. Doing this was the best decision I have ever made. It’s been 6 months and I bring my goldendoodle for his grooming once a month and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. I go to Michele S and she is by far the best dog groomer I have ever been to. Not many people know how to properly groom a goldendoodle, especially very curly ones like mine. Never once did she have to shave him down and she makes him look so handsome. Most groomers will tell you that you have to shave your golden doodle because they are matted but really it’s because they don’t know how to take care of them or they’re too lazy. If you need an amazing groomer, book Michele S. She’s amazing and I promise you won’t regret it. Thank you Michele for making shadow the most handsome goldendoodle! He can’t wait to see you again!

Very poor management at this location. The store is dusty musty dirty and disorganized. No bags, no carts, no baskets, cashiers stations are just a mess. The staff are kind and friendly. However trying to leave the store with 20 cans of cat food with no bag was enough for me to remember to never come here again!

I started bringing my dog to the vet and the grooming, so I bought the vital care... I would love to say it was good, but my God, it was like pulling teeth to get anything done with this place.Every time I'd call the vet I couldn't get through to anyone. I had appointments suddenly canceled, I'd have appointments booked and then they'd call and say "Well you're the last appointment of our day and our vet wants to leave early" which is honestly something I couldn't believe I was receiving a call to reschedule for. Not to mention the way the vets would overtly try to up sell you nonsense, even while you're in there with a sick animal. They are truly more like sales people then doctors. The best part was the free appointments from the vital care.Then the grooming was out if control, even with the 20% off I was still spending 80+ dollars and I have a small dog. Even worse more then half of my grooming appointments they didn't take her. They would have trouble accessing my pets records and would make me reschedule or jump through hoops to get it for them. I thought I'd never have to deal with this problem considering the vet I bring her to is in the same building, but nope. I've been told "The offices don't communicate and they dont have access to the vets system" So, if the vets not available to get the records from, they can't see you. Also, I've never been asked to update my pets record for EVERY grooming appointment. Once a year is normal, maybe every 6 months, but every appointment is ridiculous. Not to mention that a lot of both of our times could've been saved if they would've just given a courtesy call saying they needed new records before hand, but no, they'd wait till I was literally standing in front of them with my pet in my arms to tell me they couldnt take her for her appointment.Basically, petco needs to get it together. I moved and I have a new vet and groomers and they are so easy, I've had no issues since I stopped coming here. 🙃 Trust me, the stuff I've listed is only the tip of the iceberg, I'm leaving a lot of specifics out for my own privacy, but I cannot express enough how disappointed I am with their service and I didn't even realize how bad it was until I moved and actually went somewhere good.The store itself is good. They have nice fish, it's clean, and the staff is friendly, but the additional services they offer are just ill managed.

I booked 9 days earlier for my puppy to have him groomed. I arrived and I was told that they didn't have any appointments for him. I have all the emails and text messages about it. I looked at the app and it said completed. I believe someone purposely made it completed so they can squeeze in someone else. Really messed up. Unreal.
