Great place for traditional Italian American goods. However, their produce section leaves little to be desired. They refrigerate onions and garlic as well as other items that most likely shouldn't be refrigerated unless they weren't fresh.For the size of the place they do carry a lot of non-common items that you would like to see in the supermarket. The review deserves a 4.4 star but it's either above or below and nothing in between.

I come here almost every week to buy my groceries but today morning I come in to get my son some formula, I ask the lady at the register where is the formula and she tells me at register 1 at the bottom, so I walk there and look and she just says at the bottom, I’m looking around and don’t see any formula but mind you it’s 9:30am there barley any customers they have 3 registers open with none on the line. Instead of stepping to the side and showing me where the formula is, she stands there with her air pods in, laughing just looking at me look for it. So at this point I’m very aggravated and tell her why didn’t she come around and just showed me where it was? Stands there with a smirk on her face. So now I’m asking where is your manager ? Are you not clocked in but have air pods in? At this point I’m frustrated and I got to go to work but I needed formula for my son. So the manager comes around and asked me the issue ask I explain all he says was I was right…. She should have showed you where the formula is…… I’m standing here like what’s her name? Cause I wanna make a complain? Silence 🤐 none said anything so at this point I’m just like I need formula for my son that’s it. I bought the last one and left. NO customer service NO empathy NOTHING was done or resolved.

Ordered a grilled chicken w lettuce and pepper jack cheese sandwich toasted. I waited 10 minutes (after ordering) and the sandwich wasn’t toasted at all and I bit into a chicken bone. Not fun.

Met food has a wide variety of candy, meat, pastries, ice cream, hot pockets, and of course the deli with fresh food prepared on site. I got buffalo chicken boneless wings/tenders and they were delicious. They also have a fair share of household cleaning products and hardware like light bulbs and power cords, You’ll almost always find what you need here.

I used to love going into the met but all of a sudden I don't know what happened they got rid of Lori and Christian and the people at the deli count just suck one guy he's new I don't know who he is but I made him sliced cheese I told him then and my husband said the minute I turned my back he put the slicer on to thick and the cheese was extremely thick and then he overcharged me for the cheese on top of that the other guy at the deli count it didn't even want to help us he was just standing there so now I don't know if I'll be going to the med anymore because just because of the deli counter

Nice clean, well stocked, store. Meat department has a good variety of types & cuts of meat. Produce is fresh and presented nicely. Dairy selection limited due to size, but the staple items are always in stock. Sale items always in stock. Employees seem happy and well trained.

Met Supermarket has a small parking lot with about 35 parking spaces. It could be a bit tight especially with large SUVs and pickup trucks. Inside is not that big, but everything is neat and clean. Despite the small size, it has everything you need, all national brands and their own brand. The deli has many ready made items and cold cuts. There are the fruit/produce, dairy, dry/canned goods, meat, seafood, deli and main grocery sections (did I forget any). Staff is very friendly and helpful. It feels more like family-run store/ business.

I love that they carry Naan bread, Brioche Burger Buns, Great Italian Bread, and Rolls. Their breads are the best! The staff are all nice and polite. And I shop here often.

I had a great experience today at Met on 1177 Hylan Blvd. I am a senior, 66 yrs young 😊. Manager Jimmy, cashier and staff was very friendly and very helpful. They listened and helped me with all of my needs. Even a few customers offered to help me put my groceries on the belt. Wonderful atmosphere. I will definitely continue to shop here monthly.

I have been shopping here once a week for the last 6 months. Yesterday, as I was paying for my groceries I realized I forgot bread and hot dog buns. I had several items of meat, fruits and vegetables. It was one grocery bag worth of stuff. I also forgot a bag so I bought their red bag. After paying and realizing I forgot something, since no one was on line behind me, I walked back into the aisle 2 aisles away from the cashier and grabbed bread right at the beginning of the aisle and went right back to pay again. As I walked out, 2 employees were waiting for me and asked to check my stuff. I truly regret complying and wish I would've started recording and asked for the police to be called so everyone can then check me and feel stupid. I nicely complied right away bc I figure I'm not guilty and this is just this kids job. But I did ask y n he said bc I went back in. Bc I forgot something n paid ! Lol. So from now on I will be going in two times. They clearly saw me aka clearly watched me n were watching me so if they were watching didn't they see I paid for everything. It was really weird and rude. I know at supermarkets it is common to be checked but to say u want to check me bc I was suspicious is crazy

Small packed grocery that seems to have almost everything. Staff friendly. Parking is tight. They are reasonably priced and their deals are good. Recommend it for quick shopping or targeted trips

Convenient close to home & fairly priced, however the delivery time is absolutely ridiculous I live a two minute drive from the store IF that. My order went out a while ago and still has not even arrived perhaps I ordered on a busy day and time but I’ve been waiting for well over an hour going on 2hours now. I don’t typically shop MET but in a pinch in person is the best bet. I would recommend an app that shows the drivers location and the order/delivery process to accommodate customers.

Update 2022: has a minor issue at the deli but the manager Jimmy reconciled it right away! I'm grateful for the change.👍🏾2020:I go past my local C-Town for this place. Even in this Quarantine time, everywhere charges full price for Everything. Met usually has some kind of sale on something, and the quality and selection of the produce is great!! Fresh fish and seafood, nice bagels and bread what more can you want. It's small but still a wonderful selection of items. I love this store.

Has been a community staple for years in the Staten Island community. Great selection on foreign foods & meat selection. Prices are fair and the parking is a huge help when shopping large orders.What would keep me a loyal customer is a loyalty program and providing 'green bags' at a more sensible price but other than that - great market.

The store is price gouging if you want gallon whole milk its 4:45 now all the other gallons of milk is 399GO TO SHOP AND SAVE CROSS STREET ALL OF THERE GALLON OF MIKE IS 399 and the whole milk is also 399

Always shop the sale items so many weekly trips for bargains. Never had wrong price on item like so many other supermarkets.With inflation ramping up MET FOOD still trying to keep prices in check. The sales may be less but still worth shopping here. Another satisfied shopping session.

Other than the aisles being a little bit to small. I found everything I needed and got in and out pretty fast. I love the deli the people that work in the deli are so nice and know exactly what they are doing. I worked in a deli for about 5 years so I can sonetimes be a harsh judge but they are top notch.

The store is generally clean, and the workers are always working. Shelves are stocked well, and there's plenty of choices. Deli department is always moving its line and always attending.

Very friendly atmosphere. It has all of your basic needs. Meats are always fresh and the cashiers are pretty fast. Some items can be a bit pricey but I dont mind because it's convenient.

Parking lot is narrow and always crammed, there is no spot for carts at the parking lot, so you gotta take your cart back to the store, when you're done unloading. But they do have a decent selection of produce and goods as any other Met store would. Inside there is also very little space, other than that not bad at all.
