I stop by the Mountain Dog Cafe every time I travel through Stamford to visit my family downstate. If I'm lucky I get to go two days in a row! I absolutely love the atmosphere, the quality and variety of what they offer, and the friendly staff who have now remembered my usual order even though I only stop in sporadically. Honey latte with oat milk and lavender, with one of their ridiculously delicious peanut butter chocolate brownies. I can't say just how much I love this spot!

This place was such a cute find when we stayed in Stamford. First off, their coffee AND smoothies are delicious! My friend got the caramel apple smoothie and even got one to go. The staff were so friendly! The inside was very cozy with a ton of couches and benches. Theres even a warm fire place with books, activities, and games!!! Not to mention their outside patio is also dog friendly! If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out !!!!

I travel for work and needed a place to post up for a few hours between appointments. Mountain Dog Cafe did not disappoint! They have guest WiFi that worked for my emails and work programs. My latte was the strong pick-me-up I needed to get through the rest of my day and I HIGHLY recommend the cinnamon rolls - delicious! Clean shop with friendly staff, the perfect local place for a quick bite or to get some work done. Sadly, no dogs were present during my visit, so I had to "bring" my own :)

The young lady working there was combative and rude. I was seriously confused by how nasty she was to me. I will not be coming back. There's a place a few blocks away with much better and friendlier service.The owners response is all you need to know about how this place is run.It was never about the so called confusion. It was about the nasty way the "barista" handled it. I fully understand the difficulties they have had since opening now. I'm kind and friendly to everyone until they give me a reason not to be. The clerk was rude and nasty and i still stayed calm and just decided it wasn't worth arguing with a minimum teacher child.

I stopped in here on Easter and was greeted by three lovely helpful ladies whom made us delicious specialty drinks. I’m a firm believer that if a cafe has cortado on their menu it’s a great place! They didn’t prove me wrong. They also went out of their way to help me find local maple syrup on a day everyone was closed. Exceptional customer service and a great atmosphere! I’ll definitely stop again anytime I’m driving through.

Espresso disappointing, local pastries were the best part of our time here. While we were sitting & eating we overheard the owner or manager(?) talking to some customers degrading other businesses in town. We are visiting & don’t know the details here but no matter what’s going on that is not a good look especially in a small town and was not a good vibe for us to start our morning. Wouldn’t go back.

I stumbled upon Mountain Dog Cafe in search of coffee that did not come from the “Golden Arches”.. very happy I did! Upon walking in, the cafe smelled of fir trees and brewing coffee along with scents of freshly baked delights. The decor was wooded and comfortable like a rustic cabin in the woods with 2 fireplaces warming the atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast wraps and orange cranberry muffin. I would recommend stopping by if you have a minute to get out of the frigid temperatures into a little piece of comfort.

The service here is unmatched. So wonderful meeting the owner and speaking to the kind and welcoming employees. Strongly recommend you visit this shop!! Took our two chihuahuas from NYC and while they’re not mountain dogs, they loved hanging outside and enjoying the weather and good coffee.

The food and bakery are tasty, the place is nice. The management was very kind and went out of their way to help us find a cake. My wrap had one hair and one eyelash so that’s that, the restroom was pretty dirty too, unfortunately. I am being completely honest here, I’m not going to lie and say everything was perfect just because you helped call bakeries, consumers need to know my full experience.

Love the atmosphere here and the coffee is seriously the best I’ve ever had! Baristas are always helpful when it comes to trying new things and the breakfast wraps are so good. Super friendly staff and one of my favorite places to hang out.

I visited this coffee shop multiple times hoping that the next time I go will be better. Each time I bought a latte, the espresso tasted burnt and over-extracted. Additionally, I have tried their regular hot drip coffee as well and it was below average. I expected better for the prices and reviews.

I stopped in from out of town and I was so lucky to have found this quaint, adorable, local coffee shop! The coffee was the best I have ever had. The staff was so sweet and the pastries were enormous and delicious. My family and I felt so welcomed. A must do when in Stamford. I think I will come back just for the coffee.

As a 'down stater' visiting my Mom who lives in the area, this is a perfect coffee spot! We checked it out today and we will be back. Cute country coffee shop compared to the competition in the area ;) The iced latte was delicious and it was the caffeine kick I needed. The barista handled the lunch time rush perfectly. Nice to see the Stamford coming alive!

Because my daughter was a barista here I frequented it often. The service is good and the coffee is excellent. It's amazing that the little town of Stamford has this amazing Jewel of a coffee shop with so much variety. The baked goods are great and they sell Clark's milk products oh, some of the best around.

Coffee is def very good. The chicken salad wrap was tasty. The baked goods tasted "stale", like they were left over from the weekend...stuff should be fresh for a coffee shop.

I didn't understand from the o line presence that there was so little food options, but instead of reducing the rating I'd say just make it more obvious to those not in the know, (consider yourself warned now). We got there for an early lunch, but it was just soup. There were a few wraps they said were leftover from breakfast (but the 2 were ham n cheese, and veggie burger =breakfast??). The coffee drink was v good. 3 tables to sit at. Felt family oriented/run.

Okay, great coffee, but can we just discuss the adult sippies? They have cold prepared teas in containers like kids sippies. I just love the hibiscus tea. :) Stop in to this comfy place to get specialty sweets, breakfast sandwiches or lunch (all locally sourced). Hang out and enjoy!

Ah, the Stamford Coffee Wars of the Twenties will be written in the history books for sure. Funny thing is, there's plenty of room for both shops. Mountain Dog caters more to the grab 'n go, earlier crowd, though there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They still offer everyone's favorites - lattes, cappuccinos, pour-overs - with all manner of flavors and creamers. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and wraps, as well as fantastic pastries (if they have donuts when you go, GET ONE). Sure, they're pricier than Stewarts, but you're paying for a fresh latte, not a gas station coffee (no offense Stewarts, I love your coffee too!!). The staff are really friendly, and with parking right out front, it's an easy place to stop.

We stopped in to get something warm on a rainy day. I don’t drink coffee, so had a really delicious cup of Chai. My husband loved the coffee. Will definitely stop here again. Staff was super friendly!!
