I love the whole team! All always so nice to our pups, they walk us through everything, and willing to admit when it’s not a problem they can fix (and refer us to who can). Last year was a scary time for one of our dogs but both doctors were willing to get out of bed late at night to come look at her and after she had surgery she has been good as new! I was honestly shocked that her surgery bill wasn’t higher, and twice now we have had appointment fees waived to keep our cost down as we headed into surgeries.

Great vet hospital. I was able to get a next day appointment. They saw me right away. My cat was in and out quickly. They treated my cat with love and affection. Even during her rabies shot. She wasn't happy but having a few treats after softened the sting.

Stay away if you love your dogs. The male vet who sees my dogs is polite and all, but unfortunately they have Irresponsible staff working there. We started taking our 2 dogs to this place and we don't like the disregard and how the staff ignores requests. We provided all of our contact info (in fact we provide it to them every time we go there) and they never save it. The staff never follow up with anything regarding next appointments, shots or anything like that. They don't keep a record of your dog's visit and it's a mess. Extremely difficult to get any information or records after you leave the office. Also, make sure you check you medication before you leave if you buy some because they tend to forget some EVERY SINGLE time. It's a disaster. Also, we were used to receiving emails and phone calls with reminders when shots and other appointments were due, but this place NEVER calls or sends any reminders to ensure your pets are up to date with vaccination OR to even try to keep customers. It's messy and this is the most simple thing a business can do. Stay away! Best to pay a higher price somewhere else where they actually care.

I highly recommend this Animal Hospital ! The Vets and the staff are very professional and caring . I feel extremely comfortable bringing my dogs there . I drive an hour just to go there and they are well worth it !

I have heard terrible things about Dr. Mintzer over the years. I took my newly adopted Pom for check up. The dog saw Dr G. a female vet. They were very nice and it was costly getting dog up to date on everything. The only complaint is the place is a mess, why do they have material cushions in office as anyone knows it holds all the orders

I was so disappointed by the rude treatment of Dr Mintzer and the receptionist at Hyde Park Animal Hospital today.I have three dogs, a cat and two rabbits... I have spent thousands of dollars in just the few months at Hyde Park Animal Hospital. They were disputing me about a $150 charge back in March. In March alone I spent over $1,000 at the vet. I was confused as to why they were asking for more money. Apparently they had neglected to charge for blood work and now we're asking to recoup the cost.Rather than offer to problem solve with me, or print out the charges to review with me, or anything else that might have been good customer service, the doctor came out (without even acknowledging me or looking up from his phone) and told me I would not be able to get my dog's medicine until I paid the amount.If I were trying to short change the place, I get it, but I'm not. I'm simply trying to understand why they're asking for more money. They lost a customer today. And I will never recommend them again.

I love this place! They treated my puppy with up most care, ensuring he felt safe and comfortable. He was scared meeting new people but when he came back out, he was tail wagging and happy!

Dr Mintzer should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself. He doesn’t care about losing customers, so I doubt that’ll happen.One of the vets had a clerical error occur with a prescription given to my 4-month old puppy. Not too big of a deal, things happen. However, multiple people, including the female vet, one of the vet techs, and the receptionist all told me this was a clerical error. I was offered a visit, which I accepted. My partner brought the puppy, and I later called because they wanted to charge us for some medications.I asked to speak with the vet that was treating my puppy, and was connected with Dr. Mintzer. I wouldn’t talk to my animals the way that man spoke to me. He was condescending, rude, and disrespectful, just because I had questions. He then tried to say that there was no clerical error, the puppy just has a stomach bug; she might have a stomach bug, but when THREE separate individuals told me that her prescription was wrong, I feel its only appropriate to ask questions. Dr Mintzer didn’t want to hear anything and only wanted to explain everything away. He needs to learn how to have a sliver of respect for other people, because I am disgusted. How is this man allowed to handle animals? Based off of other reviews, he’s just a miserable man!

Had to get shots for my cat and they said there were other shots she needed and if she didn’t get them all she basically couldn’t get anything. Their time says 8-7 and yet if you need to make a later appointment like 6 they refuse. I know someone that’s worked with Dr. Mintzer and has nothing but horrible things to say, he makes staff cry even staff that doesn’t work for him if you’re calling to get records sent to another location. Just don’t.

I respect the staff . They handled me and pet when I was most stressed. Unfortunately my cat didn’t make it but the vet did what they could to make me my pet were comfortable through this hard time . They did what work and research they could . I recommend them!

Visit 1. Brought my cat in with an injured tooth. She received a full cleaning, and tooth was extracted. Was given 2 stitches and laser treatment to speed healing. Rabies vaccine was given. Was sent home with anti-inflammatory, but no antibiotic.Charge: $754 (-$128 discount for "oral hygiene month").Visit 2: 4 days later I smelled odor of rotting flesh and saw infection at extraction site. Vet said they forgot to give antibiotic, so gave me some. Did nothing else.Charge: $54.Visit 3: follow-up visit 2 weeks later, vet was not able to view extraction site, but said he was sure it was okay.Charge: $60.Fairly expensive substandard vet care.

I highly recommend Hyde Park Animal Hospital! They have taken such great care of my animals over many years, for both medical reasons and boarding. They're the only people I trust to be fair, honest and thorough.

Before today, I would have given HPAH a 5 star review, however, if you ever run into a problem with your pet becoming sick or needing urgent care, this is not the place... After being at the emergency animal hospital with my pet for 6 hours, they recommended to follow up with his primary vet. Even though it was a serious matter and my pup needed to be seen, the staff didn't seem to care and would only offer him an appointment for 2 days later. I would definitely not recommend going to them as a primary vet for your pet. Very disappointing!

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! I called and they got me an appointment right away. They were incredibly helpful educating me on how to help my new kitten when she wasn’t feeling well. The staff all followed Covid precautions. When they first saw my kitten they made sure she felt safe and comfortable. They kept telling me how sweet and cute she was. The staff was so warm and welcoming, I cannot stress that enough! Everyone that works here really loves animals. I would highly recommend this place.

I first met the doctor and his lovely staff a few years back when he saved the a stray cat I was caring for. I have since used him for regular routine visits. I recently went to him because my one cat has skin issues oh, and he was very sweet but he gently scolded me because my fatty cat is a little overweight.Some vets I have seen in the past have really made me feel horrible about it, but he was very sweet about it but stern.I just think he and his staff are the most wonderful people and we will be using him for the rest of our animals lives..

Had to bring our puppy in for emergency surgery. Fantastic service and care. Vet spent time with us and went the extra mile … even FaceTime us to show how our puppy was doing. They also did multiple follow up calls to check on how things were going. Will continue to use them as our primary care provider for our “Simba”

I've had dealings with Mintzer, if you let him near your animal you are foolish. My dog had lime and rather than treat the problem he gave her a double shot of tick prevention, I don't know about you but that's an experiment to see what happens.

Brought in my 2.5 year old ball python because he wasn't eating. Staff was very friendly and thorough. The woman came out to me and explained everything my snake was going through and reassured me that in a short period of time my snake would be back to his usual self. I was worried my snake would be stressed after the exam but he was actually quite content and stayed out of his hide for some time afterwards. I was very pleased at how quickly they got him an appointment and took good care of him. Would recommend.

If I could give them more stars I would. During a very scary time my puppy Cheyenne got real sick. They seen her very quick and did not turn us away. I probably called them every 5 minutes cause I was so scared that my puppy was going to die . They where kind n thoughtful n professional. Kept me updated on how she was doing. Dr. Drozenski even went back in that night cause she diwas still restless. During this covid corona virus they truly r unsung heroes. I would recommend them to everyone. I can't say enough about this place! The staff is incredible, Dr. Mintzer is amazing! My cat got out and was bit by another cat in the leg. My vet, (the only one I trusted) was not able to see him so they referred me here and I am so thankful they did! My cat had a couple of different issues due to this bite but the Doctor and the staff were always there to help! Camo and my family cannot thank you enough!! We highly recommend Dr.Mintzer and the Hyde park staff! Although I'm not too sure Camo wants to come visit again anytime soon! 🤣

We have three newly adopted kittens who unfortunately were given to us sick. We made an appointment to see Dr Mintzer and he was AWESOME with a capital A!! Not only did he address our issues with our new kittens but he also went above and beyond to research how we can effectively disinfect our home and keep our kids safe from what the kittens had. He took his time and explained everything to us so we understood everything before he even did it. No Vet has ever done that for us before. As for cost, he is worth every penny. When I made the appointment I simply asked and the receptionist was great in answering my financial questions over the phone prior to us coming in so I was even more comfortable making the appointment because I knew what to expect more or less. I love Dr Mintzer and the entire staff. Everyone was awesome and knowledgeable and just overall welcoming. I am so glad I brought my new fur babies here, my search for a vet is over, we found home.Dr Mintzer wants only the best for your pets, it shows in his chairside manner and in his follow up phone calls. Thank you Dr Mintzer and all the wonderful ladies there for your overall help and care, see you guys in a few weeks!!!

I've now had the pleasure of bringing two of my animals to Hyde Park Animal hospital. From dogs to bearded dragons, the doctors are knowledgeable, efficient, kind, and attentative to you and your pet. They give you the courtesy of coming out to speak with you masked face to masked face in these trying times. They have wonderful assistants and incredibly helpful receptionists there to walk you through the process from start to finish. A strong highlight is knowing you're not spending an arm an a leg when you pull into your parking space for an appointment too. I will definitely be bringing the whole pack here. Vet is friendly and knowledgeable. They saw my pet within a reasonable amount of time after our appointment time. The reason I won’t recommend them is because they say they’ll call you back, AND THEY DON’T. We had an appointment Saturday. By Tuesday I hadn’t heard anything back regarding a test we did, so I called. They said the vet tech was out and would call me back Wednesday. I hadn’t heard anything so I called back Wednesday mid-day. They claimed test results were clear but the vet would call me back. By Saturday (a week later from our appointment) I STILL haven’t heard anything back so I called again. Now I get the same vet tech on the phone who seems to be entirely confused and guess what, “I’ll call you back”.We had our first & last visit with them. I’ll be going elsewhere in the future.
