Booked a night here at the halfway point of my trip from Syracuse to Keesville. Reviews were good, had low expectations as my needs were simple. Very friendly son and father team, easy entry, room had rustic charm with the faintest hint of mildew/stuffiness. The high ceilings made it very open, was worried about the rain on the metal roof mentioned positively in a review, turned out to be benign and relaxing. The king-size bed may have been the most comfortable I've ever slept in, same with pillows. Finally, the Lemon Tree Brewery was only 389 steps away. I'll definately be back.

we were working in the area and found cedarhurst. Very comfortable and clean. Slept really well for the first time in weeks. Quiet and peaceful even being right in town. Very restful and pleasant.Rooms: very clean and with a vintage feel. really nice.

Bob is such a wonderful, kind soul with a great sense of humor and the motel is a great place to stay for a few nights! Full of great character, it’s like a step back a few decades but is comfortable and clean. No frills, but if you’re looking for a comfy place right in town this is your spot. And they’re dog friendly! Definitely check out the ice cream at the diner next door too!

What a lovely place. The owner is such a kind man,friendly and welcoming . He only charged us 95 for my two daughters and our dog.Rooms are clean, cozy. GREAT LOCATION ! Just minutes away walking to the beach.It was a pleasant experience. I will return here.

I've been going to the Cedarhurst for the past 31 years - since 1986. Bob is simply the best. The rooms are always clean, he's always happy to see you, and he keeps it pet-friendly. The surrounding area is equally accommodating and beautiful with lots of great places to eat and lots to do in both the winter and summer seasons. If I knew for certain I would be able to regularly visit for the next 31 years, I'd be an extremely happy camper!

My wife and I have been coming up to this area for 30 years. This place has consistently been the place where you feel like family. Each room has refrig, microwave, and color TV. The room's are clean and up to date. When it rains up here i love the sound of it hitting the metal roof.

Every time my husband and I have visited here the owners have always been very kind and helpful. The hotel is not very large so I would suggest reserving a room a week in advance during the Summer. The rooms are decorated like an Adirondack cabin and have always been very clean, comfortable, and extremely affordable. We will definitely be staying here again!

I'm so glad we discovered this place. The owner is super friendly, great place for families with small children and pets. It is located near the center of town within walking distance to many restaurants and the public beach. A nature trail is conveniently located across the street. This location is perfect, will definitely return again & again.

December 2016My kids and I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was the perfect place to stop during the snow storm we ran into. The owner is very customer service oriented and offers a enjoyable experience for those traveling (or visiting the gorgeous area) with young children. We plan on making a trip back in the summer months and this time on purpose! I'm so glad I decided not to travel in the bad weather and instead we had a warm cozy room to rest in until the weather improved the next day.

Great place to stay. Clean rooms, not noisy. Owner was very nice to talk to. More than enough coffee and toiletries. A Real bathtub! Prices very reasonable for the area. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

More than two years have passed since I have been in Speculator and spent a night at the Cedar Motor Lodge. It is a nice place to stay. To talk with the owner was very entertaining. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and good value for the money. I had nothing to complain about.

As you approach the motel you might think about passing it up for another location, but DO NOT! Absolutely DO NOT pass up this gem hidden in beautiful Speculator, NY. The Cedarhurst Motor Lodge is what made small town America great by being a family operated business. Our first time to visit overnight and we had 5 couples traveling on motorcycles. The owner, Mr. Bob Kuiken, has owned the motel for 40 years and for 40 years he and his family have been providing a great vacation experience in the Adirondack park. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, small fridge, coffee maker, and free Wi-Fi if you need it. A couple of small diners within walking distance of your room (one right next door) which provided an excellent, simple breakfast. and even an ice cream shop 100 yards up the street. Nothing Fancy but simply simple and excellent. I highly recommend staying here if you can get a room!Thank you Bob for a great stay!

Wife and I went to wedding at oak mountain, right up the street.This place has Very Reasonable Rates, Clean rooms, relatively up to date facilities &Very comfy beds & bedding with ample pillows + close to all!Friendly owner of 40 years in business.I'd totally recommend staying here rather anywhere else around.

Clean, updated rooms, coffee makers, tv and full baths. Friendly, sometimes humorous management exceeds expectations. I've stayed here many times over thirty years and have never been disappointed. A hearty, delicious breakfast is at King of the Frosties next door, and Sunrise Diner or Common Grounds just up the street.

This is an older hotel. The room was clean. The bedding and towels spotless. The mattresses appeared new. The owner was friendly and told me about restaurants and a great walk in the area. The rate was $85 for the night.

Just in on facebook. Owner who is an EMS provides ambulance for guest having trouble breathing. Gets her to hospital in time. Diagnosis: congestive heart failure. I've known the owner, Bob for 25 years. Great person that always puts others first.
