Good Food, just not the best I have had, and I have eaten seafood extensively up and down the East Coast.Food: Our adventure off-season spared us the agony of long queues, which was a relief. The Warm Lobster Roll was brimming with succulent lobster, albeit a tad steeply priced at $33. The coleslaw was a pleasant surprise with its delightful hint of pineapple. However, the fresh-cut French Fries missed the mark - if you're going fresh, make 'em crispy! And yes it is possible with the right potatoes and process. The Local Clam Basket delivered on freshness, though some clams were a bit gummy from the breading, and yes, those fries again! The Onion Rings were tasty, but $12 for a side? Pricing puzzled me a bit, despite understanding the rising costs.Service: Efficient, yes. Memorable? Not particularly. Counter service kept things moving, but there were no standout moments—positive or negative.Vibe: Picture a laid-back coastal spot, clean and comfy but lacking that extra oomph. It's not exactly a destination in itself, but it serves its purpose without any major hiccups.So there you have it—a culinary escapade with highs, lows, and everything in between. If I were invited to go, I wouldn't turn it down, just not sure I would make a special trip.

We had the new England chowder and the special of the day- Lobster BLT. All freshly made with delicious seafood, and good quality beer. Great spot for seafood on the North fork!There is both indoor and outdoor seating too which is great in the summer ☀️

Wow, wow, wow! Amazing food and fish. So incredibly fresh. Ordered the seafood wrap and grilled mahi tacos to split between the 2 of us and it did not disappoint. Everything was great from the coleslaw to the tomatoes on the salad. I wish I took pictures (I usually do but was so hungry, they were gone by the time I remembered!) I did take pictures of their beautiful selection of fish. Oh, and their very friendly helpful and patient staff was just as great!

The first time we went to the Southold Fish Market, we were going to order fish tacos and salads and eat at one of their outdoor picnic tables but we were told the wait for our lunch would be an hour so we left. The next time we wanted to eat there, we called and placed our order 45 minutes in advance which is what I’d recommend you do, especially on weekends! Every thing we ordered was delicious!! However most people who were waiting on a very long line were not dissuaded when someone announced the wait time for food would be at least fifty minutes! We were thrilled to walk in and go to the “ pick up orders” , pay and walk out with our fabulous lunches!

Very famous eatery in Southold. Got the fish and chips which were perfect. Not greasy at all and delicious. Love the coleslaw too, hand down my definite favorite place to get it. Nice interior of the building too. Bathroom needs to be cleaned though. Food never disappoints!

Without a doubt this is the place to go for extremely FRESH and tasty seafood and great service! They open the market at 9am and serve lunch starting at 1130am. We got there early and had a wait a bit. NO PROBLEM! They other the bar area and served us killer draft beer. Riptide IPA , from Westhampton brewing.The baked clams, sea scallop basket and fish and chips to share but the spot! We are really picky about coleslaw and theirs did not disappoint. So many places don't pay attention to that important detail. Nice assortment for condiments like malt vinegar and Chalula hot sauce. Just go!!!! UPDATE- BROUGHT our party of 6 for another wonderful meal! 3 were new to the venue and loved it!

Have eaten here often. Almost always top quality and delicious. Today we ordered the lobster salad wrap and was very disappointed. Mostly lettuce and onion. Little to no viable lobster. Not the usual experience. Everything else was on point. Place was extremely crowded but able to find seating without difficulty. Advised of the possible wait time before we ordered and the food was delivered before the estimated time. Staff was very quick and efficient. Will be back.

Stopped for lunch and was thrilled with the quality of seafood. The whole belly clams were fabulous along with the clam chowder. The seafood market was excellent. Wish we could have brought a bunch of fresh seafood home but we are flying out in two days. Definitely a winner - you won’t be disappointed.

Southold Fish Market is so good. I have come here to buy both raw fish and to eat. The food is delicious. You can get fried things like fish and chips, or grilled fish with veggies if you're looking for healthier options. It's reasonably priced for the quality. In the summer there are picnic tables outside. There is now a bar too with tap beers. This might be my favorite "restaurant" on the north fork. 💙💙💙💙

absolutely delicious seafood. lobster rolls are the main reason I visit but i’ve tried the clams and calamari. All of which are fresh and worth every penny. the staff are always polite and the outdoor seating is great. highly recommend when you’re in the area and looking for fresh seafood

Solid menu in a fair price. Great seafood quality and a very filling lobster roll. We went on a busy Saturday evening and the restaurant runs smooth and fast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a simple and local experience

Stopped in on a trip to Long Island. Haven’t had such a great seafood meal since I moved out of NY. Our table started with the crabby bites and baked clams. Both were cooked properly and tasted great. Little bits of cheese in the baked clams was nice. I had the grilled swordfish. It was cooked perfectly and was absolutely fresh and delicious. Others had the fried bay scallops and fried clam strips. All the fried items were not greasy including the sides of fries. No complaints from anyone. We will be back next trip up.

Incredibly fresh seafood cooked to order. The market is also wonderful. This is an order at the counter and grab a seat kind of place. There is also a licensed bar on-site. Not surprisingly this place is super popular with locals and tourists alike and the dining area gets busy fast. Long live the Southold Fish Market!

A Courteous young man helped me purchase 6 pounds of fillets. He was quick, prompt happy to help us. I might have been in the store a total of 15 minutes. It was a pleasure. I went in knowing exactly what I needed, located it asked for help. Packaged, rang up and on my way home.Thank you!!

This place is great every time my wife and I come here it’s always busy because the food is really good. Lobster rolls are always stuffed and the oysters are always shucked to perfectly. The sandwiches are good as well, and even if you don’t get anything they make you can always buy the ingredients and bring them home. Our go to spot.

The stuffed flounder was melt in your mouth amazing! Not fishy at all! (N im not a big fish eater..usually freshwater) Clean. Great staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Really good lobster rolls and fresh seafood platters/clam bakes. Came here 3 days in a row while we were on vacation in Greenport, always busy and lots of turnover so very fresh. There are tables inside and outside and there is also a bar on premise.
