The employees that work here are always very friendly and helpful. Having a great staff makes stopping by a few times a week for a bagel or sandwich a pleasure. I don't think the reviews comparing this place to Hayward's are very fair. Hayward's was going to leave whether this place took over, or someone else did. I understand the love for Hayward's - I myself was a long time customer of their establishment. I do miss them, but am happy to stop by the new Spring Street whenever I need something. Prices went up here, just like they have everywhere else for everything else. I think it looks lovely, and clean inside and congratulate the new owner's on the updates they've done. I have to say, I've enjoyed every single bite of all the different sandwiches and paninis I've tried. It was so delicious I actually brought food for my fellow co-workers to try, we all loved the taste and quality of the food, us Nurses are always buying food and Spring Deli in Sloatsburg is definitely our favorite place!!The new Owners are doing a great job improving every single aspect of this business. It looks so clean and the service is just amazing.By the way, I loved it so much I had to bring a sandwich for my 86 year old grandma to try, her favorite was the tuna salad sandwich, she said she never had a tuna sandwich so good in her life.Times are tough nowdays, prices are going up everywhere, I don't understand how people expect to pay what they were paying 1 year ago. I'm constantly buying food and I see the prices getting higher in every single food business I've been to, I can even see it when I go grocery shopping.Keep up the great job Spring Deli!!!

If you know me. This might be my home away from home. As you walk in the door, you'll take notice on how clean and organized the deli is. After just a couple visits you'll be on a first name basis and greeted respectfully. Julio has a top notch crew behind the counter, no matter the time of day its always a pleasure seeing the same faces. I seem to like to make unique sandwhich combinations which is no problem to them one bit. If your looking for different or or simple ,spring street will accommodate your needs. Not sure why the reviews are so harsh. I’ve liked everything I’ve ordered from the new deli. The Italian combo I ordered most recently was one of the the best I’ve ever had. Sure it’s a little pricey, but so is everything these days. I don’t think it’s any more expensive than your average deli. I think people in this town are just slow to come around to any change.

Those of you with the “oh, but when this was a Hayward’s I-“ just stop, you sound unbelievably foolish. This deli is its own establishment and has never once claimed to be a re-brand of the original store. The food is good. The prices are fair. The store is clean. If you want a Hayward’s vibe again, renovate the old Airmont Eats building by the post office and open a business yourself.

I've only been here 3 times since the new owners took over and each time I've been disappointed l, the prices are never consistent I've order the same sandwhich 3 times each time a different price, the quality of the food has greatly decreased. Seems to be a high rate for cards I purchased a Italian combo and while the board said 9 it was rang up at almost 14 dollars the sandwhich was soggy with dressing so soggy it leaked through the deli paper and a paper bag. Hours are weird, to be honest the only reason i went back was becuase it was the only open deli in the village of sloatsburg. They also cater to other out of towers and said forget the locals

Sandwich was delicious however the prices are outrageous. 1 sandwich on a roll with meat/cheese, lettuce, tomato, bag of chips and a bottle of water for $20. Insane!

Closes at 5pm on a Saturday DAY BEFORE THE SUPERBOWL. If you come into an establishment that's been set up for decades change hours, prices and food quality the locals are obviously not going to approve. I have tried this place again and again praying that it would come close to what we had but have been let down continuously. The owners rude comments to the feedback on google is the reason I'm posting. The people of this town are loyal once you get them on your side. I know it's not easy coming into a town and filling big shoes but this is not how you do it. Goodluck I'll change this once we see some change

Welcome to Sloatsburg Spring Street Deli. My breakfast sandwich was decent; although I would have liked to have a fresh bagel. As you settle in, please add prices to the menu boards. We would also appreciate to have fresh bread like the previous owners used to get.

Have been a customer of Haywards deli the past 18 years, I also went there when it was Food Mart prior to that. Recently went in under the new ownership for a sandwich. I'm guessing I won't be going back again. The store has a new vibe much like a ghost town vibe. The place is now mostly open space. The real kicker is the sandwich board menu, it's been reduced to almost nothing in the way of variety and selection. We ordered two sandwiches and they were mostly bread. What a huge disappointment this place is. Haywards was our go to for food on the way into Harriman for fishing, boating and hiking and they always had great sandwiches. If these new owners think they've got a better offering than Hayward's, I've got a nice bridge I would like to sell them. What a huge let down Spring Street Deli is. I'm going to try out the Two Friends deli down the road that was once Stone Meadow Inn that just reopened. Can't be any worse than this place. What a sad replacement for the former Hayward's. What a loss as well for many of us.

When I think of a joke of a deli, my first thought is instantly spring street north. They will forever live in the shadow of not being even as close to as good as Hayward’s. I’d rather eat the gravel next door in between two pieces of bread. The quality of their food and price range does not add up. I should not be charged an arm and a leg for a sandwich of lower quality then I can make at home. This has got to be the biggest skid mark to ever become a part of sloatsburg. I’m sorry for anyone who has ever been here and I suggest help for anyone who has enjoyed it. Thank you

The food looks great in the refrigerated glass case but it is so bland and/or poor quality. Unbelievably expensive!! I live in town and I’ll never go there again!!!!

This Place that took over Hayward's is trying to obviously improve and needs some time probably to implement new things. While standing at counter numerous times, I hard customer complaining about stale items. I saw the owner shrug it off like it was nothing. Also the pricing has gone up big time. I got egg, sausage sandwich and tea and it was $7.25 ... The pricing and quality just don't match. This is a far cry from Hayward's, I hope they improve quality and lower or at least bring some items into line ...

Ordered a sandwich and watched about ten people walk in after me and order food and recieve their sandwiches. Woman kept telling me mine will be right out. I waited 15-20 minutes and still no food. I was heading to work and couldn't wait and had to ask for a refund. Get it together! I miss Haywards.

I don't understand how you take a very successful business and destroy it in less than a year. These people tried to reinvent the wheel when they had a perfectly running business. Now the food is garbage. Prices are higher, and whoever owns it is an absolute joke. I don't even go in anymore.
