Stopped in, cute shop!! Decided to buy an ornament. Owner seemed to be on a business call, so when he looked over at me at the checkout counter, which he was right behind, I motioned to him that it was fine, THAT I COULD WAIT. NO PROBLEM, AT ALL, and he nodded like he understood. , I had no time constraints and was simply shopping around NEAR the checkout counter, very content with waiting, as there was so much to browse up there ….The problem: about a minute goes by and this grumpy man behind the counter on the phone says,” CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME JUST A MINUTE OR TWO? “.really not nice,, like he is annoyed with me that I’m standing there!! When I already motioned I’d wait……. I think he wanted me to walk farther away or do more shopping? He sounded annoyed that I was standing there with the ornament, simply shopping around the vicinity of the counter. Well,I left the ornament on the counter and just left. It was one of the oddest things, this guy really took the wind out of my sails. I felt intrusive, with his tone.I don’t think I’ll be stopping again next time I’m in beautiful Skaneateles Do better, or hire a nice person who likes people, this town has many shops with owners that are so sweet, they brighten any day, so this shop clashed with that premise, and stands out in my mind as the shop I don’t want to go to.
