Great spot, conveniently located and owned by Shelter Island House. Room was clean and bright with a veranda and large new bath. Bed and pillows were the comfiest. Only thing I personally missed was a coffee maker or Keurig in the room. We welcomed the voucher's for morning bagel and coffee for the Eccentric Bagel shop (right across the road). We have stayed at the main house before and both are equally lovely. Oh..there is a great swimming pool accessible to guests too! Can't wait to revisit in the fall!Nearby activities: Bikes avail...walk to beach and local restaurants and ice cream...walk to main house..golf course across street..

Actual room quality was fine except that the air didn't work at all and it was 85 degrees in the room the whole night.We woke up in a pool of sweat and while they did move us the second night to a room in the main hotel, We were told we would receive a credit and got $40 taken off of what amounted to be a $450 sauna.

We stayed 2 nights, and both nights we had a hard time sleeping. There is an red exit sign in the bedroom that lights up the whole room during the night, there is a fridge that every half hour starts buzzing. The walls are very thin so we could hear the neighbors and their baby throughout the night. The room itself is big and clean. There is a nice bathroom, with bathtub. The backyard has shared places to sit and is nice. It looks very nice, but all and all is not worth the money.

We were stranded after finding out our original place of stay was unlivable. They were very accommodating, stayed up for our arrival at 12 am and we had the best experience. Rooms are very comfortable with ample amenities, breakfast was delicious and off street, safe parking was a plus. We will definitely be back!

Very lovely place. Good location on the Island, two blocks from the main Guest House. Would recommend to a friend it if it were half the price. Unfortunately, our room was infested with little flies. Over the past two nights I killed two dozen of the buggers, else wise it was spotless.
